The Bomanizer is heading to TV. That’s the handle of Canadian comedian Boman Martinez-Reid, who broke out on TikTok in 2020 and is now starring in a TV show on the Canadian channel Crave.
The show in question is titled Made for TV with Boman Martinez-Reid, and it offers satirical commentary on the troubled path many creators walk when they attempt to jump to television. Each episode will see the comedian try his hand at a different genre in hopes of finding one that sticks. By the end of the series, Martinez-Reid will have attempted everything from news to competitive drag — though there are no guarantees he will find his calling before Made for TV‘s first season ends.

HighballTV announced today that their upcoming monster-centered genre anthology film God of Frogs, which includes segments from several emerging film directors, has wrapped production in and around Trenton, Canada.
God of Frogs is a new genre anthology film that will include four segments surrounding the same monster, we’re told. Deep in the heart of the jungle exists an elemental creature with an eternal hunger, and every 25 years, it emerges: a woman is eaten alive in 1969, a film crew goes missing in 1994, a politician explodes live on television in 2019, and a multinational corporation goes up in flames in 2044.
The cast of the anthology includes Kate Vernon, Juan Chioran, Darius Rathe, Erika Prevost, Ilana Haley, Peter Fernandes, Alexander Eling, Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll, Sabryn Rock, and Christian Lloyd.
Producers attached to the film include Johnathan Sharp and Elizabeth Fraser, along with Executive Producers Matt Campagna and Andre Rehal.

Exclusive: Burgeoning Toronto-based indie streaming platform HighballTV has announced five original titles it plans to put into production in 2023, with an overall investment of 15.6M.
The new slate consists of Caden Douglas’ genre comedy Mother Father Sister Brother Frank, music documentary Working On The Radio, anthology film The God Of Frogs, Andre Rehal’s crime drama Jin And The Wild Dog and Alice Moran’s comedy film Bash. (scroll down for more details).
The company has raised the slate financing via private investors and loans with the Royal Bank Of Canada and will also tap into the regional film tax incentives.
