Supernatural helped this major rising star get their big break, something I totally forgot about but is quite fitting. Supernatural was and continues to be one of my favorite series, as it is such a unique procedural. Though Supernatural changes a lot between seasons 1-15, I felt that the core of the story remained strong even as new monsters and characters graced the screen. Despite its shaky ending, the series still has a strong staying power with its fans years later, myself included.
Supernatural's series finale was able to bring the story of the Winchesters to a close, but the cast continues to shine in other projects, which is so nice to see and demonstrates one of the reasons why this show is still so popular. Between Jensen Ackles' and Jeffrey Dean Morgan's appearances in The Boys and Jared Padalecki's Walker, the cast continues to showcase their talent...

Star Trek: Short Treks is a series of mini-episodes for fans of modern Star Trek shows. The episodes provide insights into new and established characters and are crucial for understanding the evolving Star Trek timeline. Some episodes are essential for understanding specific storylines in other Star Trek series like Discovery, Strange New Worlds, Picard, and Prodigy.
Star Trek: Short Treks may not have been priority viewing for many Star Trek fans, but these mini-episodes tie into the modern Star Trek shows in essential ways. Initially conceived as a companion to Star Trek: Discovery, the first season of Short Treks consists of four live-action episodes that tie into the adventures of Commander Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and the USS Discovery. The second season of Short Treks includes four live-action episodes and two animated episodes, incorporating more characters from other Star Trek series.

The CW should revive Supernatural with its canceled spinoff, Wayward Sisters, rather than continuing the Winchesters' story. Wayward Sisters had potential as a spinoff, featuring popular characters from the original show and the opportunity for guest appearances. Wayward Sisters would be a fresh and original addition to the Supernatural franchise, with an all-female cast and the chance to explore new storylines.
Supernatural was among the best fantasy shows on The CW, running for an impressive 15 seasons and 327 episodes, and there's even been speculation about Supernatural returning for season 16 — though it would be better to continue its legacy with a canceled spinoff instead. The show premiered back in 2005, and over the course of its many seasons, Sam and Dean Winchester hunted demons and saved the world multiple times. Apple TV+ launches Friday with a small selection of all-original content for subscribers to choose from, one of them being the sci-fi series “See.” What’s special enough about the series, starring Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodard, to warrant its placement among the first batch of heavily curated shows Apple is offering customers on its new streaming service? For starters, it’s set in a world where no one can see. Well, almost no one.
“See” takes place in the distant future, hundreds of years after a deadly virus has decimated humankind and left those who survived blind. Momoa plays Baba Voss, the leader of a powerful tribe and father of twins born into this post-apocalyptic world with the mythic ability to see, who must be protected from a queen who wants to destroy them.

Jason Momoa-headlined Apple TV series, See, landed a preemptive second season renewal, albeit with personnel changes ahead.
See may be a sci-fi series set in a far-future in which humanity collectively lost the sense of sight, but – in an example of art metaphorically imitating life – the show’s streaming home, Apple TV+, did a bit of blind greenlighting of its own back in October, preemptively renewing See Season 2 amongst a quartet that includes Dickinson, The Morning Show and For All Mankind, ahead of the platform’s November 1 launch date.
The renewal of See and the three other shows was revealed in a lengthy report from THR on Apple’s streaming endeavors. The series, brandishing a concept-driven sci-fi premise, is set hundreds of years in the future, focused on a human race that literally went blind, resorting to a brutal, primitive tribal existence. Apple has released the first trailer for Jason Momoa’s upcoming post-apocalyptic series See. The story is set in the distant future after a virus has decimated humankind. The people who survived madness came out of it blind.
Momoa takes on the role of Baba Voss, “the father of twins born centuries later with the mythic ability to see—who must protect his tribe against a powerful yet desperate queen who believes it’s witchcraft and wants them destroyed.”
The series looks like an impressively epic series, and it’s a perfect project for Mamoa to be a part of. He’s totally in his element with this character that he plays. The show was created by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) and directed by Francis Lawrence, who previously helmed a couple of the Hunger Games movies.

Before Wayward Sisters‘ Claire Novak escaped death, she once feared a grim ending to her story, as seen in this exclusive deleted scene from Supernatural Season 13.
As viewers will recall, Sheriff Jody Mills (played by Kim Rhodes) warned her surrogate daughter Claire (Kathryn Newton) about Patience’s (Clark Backo) deadly vision in the potential spinoff’s backdoor pilot. The psychic teen then filled in the details. But in the above video, Claire learns her fate during a different exchange.
“What exactly did you see?” Claire asks as she, Patience and dreamwalker Kaia (Yadira Guevara-Prip) drive during a rainy, ominous night.

After two attempts at a Supernatural spinoff, CW President Mark Pedowitz has come to the conclusion that what makes the long-running hit drama so successful is its leading men.
“I am concerned… it may be [stars] Jared [Padalecki] and Jensen [Ackles]. And there may not be a franchise beyond that,” Pedowitz admitted at the Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour on Monday.
However, “if there’s a great idea that [the producers] want to go forward with, we’re open to listening. It is a great franchise,” Pedowitz added.
The show’s most recent effort at a backdoor pilot for an offshoot, Wayward Sisters, failed to get a series pickup.

We're sorry to report The CW has declined to order the Wayward Sisters TV show to series. The project would have been a spinoff to the network's successful, long-lived Supernatural and aired as a backdoor pilot, during the current season of the original program. It did well in the ratings and drew a lot of social media attention, so the decision not to move forward is frustrating to the cast and crew -- and to fans as well (this writer among them). Developed by Andrew Dabb and Robert Berens, Wayward Sisters stars Kim Rhodes, Briana Buckmaster, Kathryn Newton, Katherine Ramdeen, Clark Backo, and Yadira Guevara-Prip. Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles co-starred in the Wayward Sisters pilot, which aired as episode 13.10 of Supernatural on January 18, 2018, on The CW. The entire Supernatural...

Friends, the answer to your Supernatural-esque Buffy the Vampire Slayer dreams might have just arrived. We've only just seen a backdoor pilot to Wayward Sisters, the lady-centered Supernatural spinoff, but so far there's a lot to like. It's essentially an adopted family of Buffys, led by Kim Rhodes as Sheriff Jody Mills, all learning to wield shotguns and kill monsters. Tonight's pilot put a lot of focus on Claire Novak (Kathryn Newton), who was called back by Sheriff Mills to help find Sam and Dean, who had gone missing. Claire and Jody, alongside Donna (Briana Buckmaster), Alex (Katherine Ramdeen), Patience (Clark Backo), and Kaia (Yadira Guevara-Prip), managed to...

Sure, we knew that a backdoor pilot for the Wayward Sisters spinoff was next on the agenda, but all promo videos being circulated were very, very vague to say the least.
Fortunately, things have started to turn around in recent memory. Just last week, we were treated to a new trailer and a clip taken from the returning episode now that it’s finally within reach. Plus, we learned that a renewal for a fourteenth season is more than likely, so it’s probably safe to say that 2018 is off to a fine start for the “Spn Family.”

Normally at this time of year, we’re gearing up to see exactly how Sam and Dean Winchester will get themselves out of whatever jam the midseason finale of Supernatural left them in. In fact, we’re in that situation yet again, but this time around, they’re going to need some major help from outside parties.
Incidentally enough, said help will come in the form of Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes), Claire Novak (Kathryn Love Newton), Donna Hanscum (Brianna Buckmaster), Alex (Katherine Ramdeen) and the recently introduced Patience (Clark Backo) – as well as newcomer Kaia (Yadira Guevara-Prip), thus setting up the hopeful Wayward Sisters spinoff.

If you’ve also been traveling on “The Road So Far,” then you’d know Supernatural has introduced no shortage of memorable recurring characters over the course of its thirteen seasons. That said, you’d think one or two of them would be ripe for a spinoff, but, originally, The CW intended on going in a different direction.
Perhaps you’ll be able to recall the “Bloodlines” episode from season 9, which, if you’re unaware, was the network’s first attempt at a backdoor pilot. By that, we mean characters and concepts were introduced in the flagship series, with the intention of paying them off in the planned spinoff.
