If you have been missing Emily in Paris and have been feeding your craving by watching Younger on Netflix, or any of the other romantic comedy series like Younger that we recommended, your ancillary binge-watches will eventually lead to Emily's return later this year. Netflix has officially confirmed that Emily in Paris season 5 will be released sometime in 2025!
The streaming service made the announcement in late January 2025 with the reveal of its 2025 programming slate, which included a number of fan-favorite Netflix original series like Stranger Things, Nobody Wants This, The Diplomat, Squid Game, and many more. Most of the series didn't receive release dates but were confirmed to drop at some point in 2025.
Emily in Paris season 5 hasn't yet started production as of February 2025. Back in November 2024, shortly after the release of season 4 part 2 in September, Variety shared that filming on season 5 would begin in May 2025, during the first week of the month.

Even though Younger was a fan-favorite hit during its inital seven-season run, the series has kicked off 2025 by having a major resurgence. On Jan. 7, the TV Land original romantic comedy series from creator Darren Star was added to Netflix and popped. As of Feb. 6, the show remains in the top 10 alongside recent new seasons of hit Netflix originals The Night Agent and The Recruit.
It's the most recent library series to come to Netflix and experience the "Netflix effect," which simply means that new viewers are discovering the series and old viewers are rediscovering the series. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in March 2025, Younger originally aired between 2015 and 2021 and effectively filled a gap for actually good guilty pleasure programming we'd been missing.
While your Netflix (re)binge-watch of Younger might be nearing its end, you're likely wondering what show to add to your watch list to keep the good times rolling.

“Paris is always a good idea,” said Audrey Hepburn in Billy Wilder’s 1954 flick Sabrina, but let’s be real—Emily in Paris has taken that idea and turned it into a Netflix cocktail that’s part chaos, part glamour, and entirely addictive. It’s like you’ve had the most delicious glass of rosé and now you’re scrambling to catch up with all the drama, romance, and French clichés that somehow feel like a breath of fresh air.
From the moment Emily arrives in the City of Lights, she dives headfirst into a pool of glitter, lattes, love triangles, and picture-perfect disasters that are just begging to be shared on Instagram.

We’re talking about a show that turned basic wardrobe envy into an art form, paired with so many romantic entanglements, that you need a spreadsheet to keep track.

When Netflix first started releasing its own original scripted content, the streamer did so with the revolutionary concept of binge-watching. Every episode was released all at once! We didn't have to wait a week in between new episodes! We could watch at our own pace! It was great, and still is, but Netflix has introduced a new release pattern for some of its shows: the split season.
Netflix introduced the two-part release strategy for its shows long before the actors' and writers' strikes impacted the film and television industry in 2023. Money Heist released its seasons in parts, as did comedies The Ranch and Fuller House, but those instances of split seasons were nothing compared to those we're seeing now.
The decision to divide Stranger Things season 4 into two parts in the summer of 2022 seemed to ignite the idea and put it into practice in a major way.The Witcher season...

When the dawn of a new year approaches and you take stock of the shows yet to be renewed or canceled, you never want to jinx these shows by predicting their fate. As an outspoken Emily in Paris fan, I don't want to put it out into the universe that the show — gulp — ends with season 5 or gets abruptly canceled, but sometimes... you have to call it like you see it.
It's a reality that as shows age, they are more likely to either get the plug pulled or end naturally with a final season. For avid television watchers, that's the circle of life on the small screen, save for a small population of outliers. Other shows that aren't so lucky to reach veteran status could find themselves teetering on the edge of no return, while some are sadly sitting ducks no matter how beloved.

“Emily in Paris” star Lucas Bravo said he’s debating returning for the Netflix series’ upcoming fifth season after being “frustrated with the direction” his character, Gabriel, has taken.
“When you love something … you want the best version of it. I’m not going to lie, I’ve been frustrated with the direction by character is taking,” Bravo said in an interview with Indiewire while promoting his upcoming film, “Freedom.” “It makes me question if I want to be part of Season 5 […] because my contract ends at Season 4.”
While Bravo noted “the ‘sexy chef’ was very much part of [him] in Season 1,'” the turns his character has taken in the subsequent installments have created distance between the actor and Gabriel. “I’ve never been so far away from him.” Season 4, which debuted in two parts in August and September, saw Gabriel and Emily (Lily Collins) finally get together for a fleeting moment before breaking up,...

French President Emmanuel Macron reacts to Emily in Paris potentially leaving his country behind for Italy. The rom-com series, which debuted in 2020, has recently been renewed for its fifth season. The show, created by Darren Star (Sex and the City), follows young Chicagoan Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), who moves to Paris to work for a chic marketing firm. The season 4 finale seemingly sets up Emily for a big move to Rome, raising questions about Emily in Paris season 5's setting and surprising many viewers.
This includes the French president himself, whose wife made an appearance on the series this year. In an interview with Variety, amid a discussion about France's move towards the global center of culture, President Emmanuel Macron touched upon the upcoming fifth season of Netflix's Emily in Paris. French President Emmanuel Macron isn’t ready to bid au revoir to “Emily in Paris.”
While Emily (Lily Collins) has relocated to Rome in the Season 4 finale of the hit Netflix series, Macron is vowing to bring the production back to France.
“We will fight hard. And we will ask them to remain in Paris!” Macron told Variety. “‘Emily in Paris’ in Rome doesn‘t make sense.”
“Emily in Paris” is confirmed to be moving to Italy for its fifth season as Emily will lead the marketing campaign for new client-slash-suitor Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini). And while it’s still unclear where the series could go next both narratively and in terms of jet-setting, it seems that Macron may have an advantage to bringing Emily once more to Paris: Macron’s wife Brigitte Macron guest-starred on the show.
“I was super proud, and she was very happy to do it,” Macron said of the cameo.

For the past few years, Netflix has helped lead the charge for traditional romantic comedies to make a rightful comeback. We have been in need of some real levity and heartwarming love stories, the kind that used to make bank at the box office. Now, we're getting some of the best rom-coms in the comfort of our own homes thanks to Netflix with titles like Nobody Wants This.
The romantic comedy series, which stars Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, centers on a sex and relationships podcast host who doesn't follow any form of organized religion falling head over heels for a traditional Jewish rabbi. As the title suggests, nobody seems to want them together, but their attraction and connection is bigger than the divisions between religion.

Emily in Paris season 4, part 2 has viewers wondering more about the newly introduced Genevive and the actor who plays her, Thalia Besson. For the most part, Emily in Paris' cast of characters didn't change too much in the fourth outing. Aside from Genevive, Laurent G's (Arnaud Binard) daughter, Emily's new love interest, Marcello Muratori (Eugenio Franceschini), was the biggest addition to the rom-com's ensemble. Given Emily in Paris season 4, part 2's ending, it seems like both Genevive and Marcello will have even more significant roles in the show's fifth season.
In the wake of a devastating breakup with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), Emily (Lily Collins) tries even harder to keep her personal and professional lives separate. Although that seems to work for a little while, Marcello's family business, the Umberto Muratori cashmere company, complicates things. With Sylvie's encouragement, Emily winds up pitching the Agence Grateau marketing form to the Muratori family.

With its fourth season, Emily in Paris broke two major rules the show seemed to set for itself in its first few outings. Picking where Emily in Paris season 4, part 1 ended, the second half of the fourth outing introduced the Netflix series' first real villain and moved Emily in Paris' cast of characters to a brand-new location outside the City of Light. In part 2, Emily (Lily Collins) breaks up with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) when Camille's (Camille Razat) pregnancy complicates the trio's dynamic a bit too much. Finally, Camille reveals her pregnancy was a false positive.
What happens to Camille in Emily in Paris doesn't seem to interest the show as much as Emily's next big romance with Marcello Muratori (Eugenio Franceschini), a wealthy businessman from Rome. In the wake of her break up with Gabriel, Emily tries to keep her personal and professional lives separate. While Emily succeeds (for a...

Emily in Paris season 4's finale has viewers wondering what, exactly, the Netflix show's big move to Rome, Italy, means for the series' future. In the wake of Emily in Paris season 4, part 2's ending, Netflix was quick to renew the show for a fifth outing. However, Emily Cooper's (Lily Collins) upcoming adventure is going to look a lot different from previous seasons. Created by Darren Star (Sex and the City), Emily in Paris' cast of characters is led by Emily, a Chicagoan who moves overseas to provide her unique American perspective to a French marketing firm.
Despite never learning the language, Emily becomes entangled in Parisian life. Forever failing upward, Emily winds up on her boss, Sylvie's (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), good side; lands an incredible apartment; and has several whirlwind romances, including one with a burgeoning chef, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). Darren Star certainly knows how to keep fans of his shows on edge, and that is precisely what’s being done with Netflix’s Emily in Paris. This show has successfully run the romance, drama/comedy scene for four incredible seasons. While there is no official confirmation on Season 5, fans are concerned with how the storyline capped off during its latest season.

Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, is an American hired by a marketing firm in Paris to provide them with her expertise. However, the character also goes through a series of learning curves, life experiences, and a lot more in the mix. And obviously, why create a television show without a touch of romance in it? But that’s where Darren Star tends to mess it all up.

Good-bye, Emily in Paris. Hello, Emily in…Rome?
Fans of the frothy comedy “Emily in Paris” may have been shocked by the ending of Season 4, Part 2, which dropped on Netflix this week. In the season finale, Emily (Lily Collins) is assigned by her boss Sylvie Grateau (Philippine LeRoy-Beaulieu) to start a new office in Rome, where a sexy new client –– not to mention a sexy new man, Marcello Muratori (Eugenio Franceschini) –– eagerly await her presence.
On one hand, it’s a step up for Emily: She’s being promoted to manage her very own office in one of the most romantic cities in the world. On the other hand, she’s leaving behind her friends, primary love interest Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and, in some sense, her viewers. By deploying that plot twist, “Emily in Paris” is indicating that the show,...

Note: This story contains spoilers from the “Emily in Paris” Season 4 Part 2 finale.
“Emily in Paris” might need a name switch after the Season 4 finale saw Emily Cooper choose to make her trip to Rome permanent to head up the Italian office of Agence Grateau.
After Part 1 saw Emily (Lily Collins) and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) finally get together, their relationship was pulled apart just as soon as it began, with Emily moving on to Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) by the end of Part 2. Her budding new romance was seen as a business opportunity to Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), who hoped to strike a deal with Marcello’s family business and avoid their impending partnership with Jvma.

[Editor’s note: The following story contains spoilers for the Season 4 ending of “Emily in Paris.”]
They say you can’t go home again, but you can elect to stay in Rome for a while if a New Hot Guy hires your company to do PR for his family’s reclusive fashion brand.
That’s the ending moral to Part 2 of Season 4 of Netflix’s smash dramedy “Emily in Paris,” which premiered September 12. The final moments found Emily (Lily Cooper) saying au revoir to Paris and planning to live in Rome temporarily to be the leader on the ground for her company’s newest client — Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), who just so happens to be Emily’s latest suitor. As her boss, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), noted earlier in the season, this girl simply loves to mix business with pleasure.

[This story contains spoilers from Emily in Paris season four, part two.]
Emily Cooper’s Roman holiday took her not only on a vacation, but also on a new adventure in love and life.
Emily in Paris season four, part one ended with Emily (Lily Collins) and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) in a great place. They had just told each other they loved one another and Camille (Camille Razat) had moved out of Gabriel’s apartment, so he and his new girlfriend could finally be alone. But, of course, it wouldn’t be Emily in Paris if that blissful happiness lasted.
After about a one-month hiatus, part two (now streaming on Netflix) returned, and the first episode caught up with the couple spending Christmas Eve together with Camille’s family in Megève after Emily’s flight to Chicago gets canceled. Gabriel leaves her at the top of a ski slope to chase after Camille, leaving her...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers for Emily in Paris Season 4 Part 2.
Emily Cooper’s adventures in Rome have come to a close for now as the second part of Season 4 of Netflix’s Emily in Paris wrapped up the latest installment of the series.
At the beginning of Part 2, Emily (Lily Collins) and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) finally get to be together, but some Christmas complications and realizations past the honeymoon phase make that moment shortlived. Midway through the five episodes, she connects with Italian Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) who begs her to come to Rome and visit him after they have a long romantic night out on the town.

Before watching Emily in Paris season 4, part 2, even long-time viewers may need a quick refresher on the show's cast of characters, especially those who are returning for Emily Cooper's (Lily Collins) latest comedic adventure, which takes her from Paris to Rome. Created by Darren Star (Sex and the City), Emily in Paris sees its titular character moving from Chicago to France to provide an American point of view to a French marketing firm. Initially hired on as a temporary social media strategist, Emily butts heads with her bitter, no-nonsense boss, Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu).
Anticipation for Emily in Paris season 4's ending couldn't be higher after part 1's cliffhanger ending, which left the love triangle between Emily, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), and Camille (Camille Razat) far from resolved. There are many things to remember about Emily in Paris' previous seasons, but, most importantly, Camille is keeping her false-positive pregnancy a secret from Gabriel,...

Warning: Major spoilers ahead from Emily in Paris season 4 part 2.
Emily in Paris giveth and Emily in Paris taketh away when it comes to romance, but in season 4 part 1, the Netflix original romantic comedy series finally gave us what we have been waiting for. After three seasons of push and pull, Emily and Gabriel finally got together as an official couple. Heavy emphasis on both "finally" and "official."
Of course, getting together during this particular moment in their lives wasn't without its challenges, making their relationship seem all the more like a fantasy. Even though Camille was pregnant with Gabriel's baby, he and Emily made it work. Well, Emily pushed forward and made a decent amount of sacrifices with her time and space.
However, that bombshell reveal at the end of Emily in Paris season 4 part 1, that Camille isn't actually pregnant, looms large over part 2. The impending explosion of that...

Splitting Emily in Paris season 4 into two parts seemed like a risky move when it was first announced, but now that we’ve finished the second part of the season I have to admit it was a move that really paid off.
The second part of Emily in Paris season 4 almost felt like its own season, with so much happening in these five final episodes of the season and the finale definitely did not disappoint at all. It had everything we could ask for and then some, including an ending that is sure to leave fans with plenty of questions about the show’s future.
With that, let’s dive right into the meat of things with a look at how the season came to a close and break down the season 4 ending! But first, let this serve as a spoiler warning as we prepare to get into the thick of things!

One Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) returned to the small screen August 15 in Part 1 of Emily in Paris Season 4. The latest installment of the soapy Netflix series has been split into two parts like other tentpole shows for the streamer such as Bridgerton Season 3, Stranger Things Season 4 and more.
Ten days after the premier of Part 1, Collins posted some first look photos for Part 2, in which viewers will see Emily go on her Roman holiday.

Look out, Gabriel! You have some stiff competition headed your way in Emily in Paris season 4 part 2. On Aug. 26, Netflix unveiled the official trailer for the second half of the romantic comedy series' fourth season, and it's especially intriguing considering how part 1 ended. Are Emily and Gabriel already headed for a breakup? Well, if Rome has anything to say about it, then maybe!
The trailer for Emily in Paris season 4 part 2 introduces two new characters, including Emily's new American co-worker Genevieve at Agence Grateau and a ridiculously handsome Italian man who looks all but ready to sweep Emily off her feet in Rome. Emily and Gabriel have only been an official couple for a short period of time, but a rough patch looks like it's on the horizon.

Netflix has dropped the trailer for Part 2 of Emily in Paris Season 4, and of course, all roads lead to Rome at the end of the latest installment.
“Sometimes all you need is a new perspective,” the clip teases in between shots of Emily (Lily Collins) with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Camille (Camille Razat) in snowy France and Sylvie’s (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) new hire Genevieve (Thalia Besson), another American employee joining Savoir.
Tension brews between Emily and Gabriel as Camille still hasn’t shared that she isn’t pregnant with her ex-fiancé. Meanwhile, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) might turn into more than just a business asset for Emily as he first comes to Paris “exploring some business opportunities.
Jvma hopes to acquire whoever Marcello works for, and Sylvie is keen to nab a meeting with him via Emily — which involves her going to Rome.
