Sony Music Masterworks today announces the release of Venom: The Last Dance (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) with music by composer Dan Deacon.

Directors of the Apple TV+ supernatural series The Changeling, Jonathan Van Tulleken and Michael Francis Williams, spoke about how they created tension between characters in their new exclusive interview.

Van Tulleken explained how his first step in creating this tension is by “looking at the script.”

He poses questions to himself about the language like, “Whose point of view is it? You know how do you draw the audience into sort of this subjective dreamlike experience?”

Williams added, “It’s trying to bridge the gap between the audience and what we see on the page of the script.”

Actors can do this by using visual tricks to make viewers feel their tension.

Specifically in The Changeling, they noted that there are a lot of elements at play like, “magic realism and horror and suspense” that were helpful for the directors to use.

Williams explained how he was able to do this in his episode.

The eight-part drama, which Stanfield stars in and executive produces, will drop the first three episodes of the series on Friday, Sept. 8. The pilot episode was directed by “Queen & Slim” director Melina Matsoukas.

In the series, Stanfield plays Apollo Kagwa and Clark Backo costars as his wife Emma. Lavelle appears in the show as its narrator, and also serves as an executive producer. Here’s everything you need to know about the horror drama.

When does “The Changeling” come out?

Apple TV+’s “The Changeling” comes out on Friday, Sept. 8 with its first three episodes. Following episodes will air on the streamer every Friday until Oct.

According to rudimentary Googling, Apple has a generally well-regarded parental leave policy. But according to the output at Apple TV+, there is anxiety in the water in Cupertino (or in the company’s Los Angeles offices).

Dropping this Friday, The Changeling is the second Apple TV+ series in five years blending fairy tale and horror to delve into maternal and paternal anxieties about nature, nurture and the price paid when parents are forced to leave babies behind to return to work.

Perhaps not as bluntly effective as Servant, The Changeling is an admirably ambitious series, especially on thematic levels, where it seems to be bursting with commentary on 21st century parenting. As storytelling, though, Kelly Marcel’s adaptation of Victor Lavalle’s novel is a mess. Though the series isn’t lurching through time and frames of reality without intent, its refusal to build any sort of momentum becomes increasingly frustrating.

Apple TV+ is launching the genre-blending The Changeling on September 8, 2023 with the release of the first three episodes. Oscar nominee Lakeith Stanfield leads the cast of what the streaming service describes as a fairytale for grown-ups, a horror story, and a parenthood fable.

The Maryland band have always had a grandiose quality to their music, but “Deep in the Night” feels especially cinematic. The track moves slow with bellowing percussion and sparkling synths as the inimitable Samuel Herring sings about missing a lover. “I’m like a prowling lion that’s seeking pride,” he croons, before admitting, “I belong to you.”

What starts off as a “boy meets girl” story ends up playing out as a terrifying nightmare. A little over 30 seconds into the trailer, Clarke Backo’s character Emma meets what appears to be a witch next a body of water in Brazil.

“She told me I had three wishes,” Emma said “When it falls off my wrist, those three wishes will come true. Do not cut it.”

But for Apollo Kagway, Lakeith Stanfield’s character, wishes and witches are only found in fairytales.

Apple TV+ has unveiled a series of first-look photos of “The Changeling”, the streamer’s upcoming eight-episode drama series.

Described as “a fairytale for grown-ups,” the series is based on Victor Lavalle’s acclaimed 2017 novel of the same name, “The Changeling” stars Lakeith Stanfield, whose credits include “Atlanta”, “Judas and the Black Messiah”, “Sorry To Bother You” and “The Book Of Clarence”.

New York rapper billy woods and LA producer Kenny Segal have tapped Future Islands singer Samuel T. Herring for “FaceTime,” the lead single from their upcoming collaborative album, Maps.

Over Segal’s wistful, horn-based production, woods describes his life on the road in vivid detail. “They was goin’ off during Playboi Carti set,” he raps. “Now they in the halls partyin’/ Checkin’ they phones, bass shake the walls/ I’m smokin’ alone in a cardigan.”

Kvelertak have announced their fifth studio album Endling, out September 8th, and shared the lead single “Krøterveg Te Helvete.”

The Norwegian heavy rockers have made their name with a classic-rock infused take on extreme metal, and “Krøterveg Te Helvete” should satiate longtime fans with its breakneck speed and visceral hooks. The track manages to equally evoke Refused-esque hardcore and the black metal of Kvelertak’s homeland.

“‘Krøterveg Te Helvete’ is a celebration of the intolerable levels of hardships of being in a popular rock band in 2023,” the band remarked in a press release.
