St. Denis Medical has certainly seen a lot six episodes into its freshman run on NBC, but the next one could be the most chaotic yet. Ahead of the episode's airing, Cbr can unveil an exclusive sneak peek at the cold open, teasing the madness that happens when inmates arrive for treatment from a nearby prison.

The episode, titled "50 cc's of Kindness," is set to air on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 8 p.m. on NBC. In the sneak peek clip, Joyce (Wendi McLendon-Covey), Ron (David Alan Grier), and Alex (Allison Toman) attempt to take control with treating two prisoners who've been rushed in after an apparently violent incident took place at the prison. The series will return with season 1, episode 7 on Tuesday, January 14 at 8 p.m. Et. NBC's medical sitcom follows "an eclectic team of underfunded yet dedicated doctors, nurses and hospital staff, who want nothing more than to turn the hospital into an international medical destination." However, not everyone in the series shares the same approach to care.

Among the bunch is Bruce, a talented trauma surgeon whose lack of awareness often makes him appear harsh. Josh Lawson (Superstore), who plays the character, admits that his attitude does put him at risk of being too mean. It was important to the actor to make it known that Bruce never intends to hurt others, as his actions come from a place of ignorance rather than cruelty.

If anyone knows the potency of good sitcom chemistry, it’s probably Eric Ledgin.

The workplace comedy launched on NBC with two back-to-back episodes. NBCUniversal did not provide seven-day viewership insights for the second episode, but it did say that the second episode retained 82%, or roughly 3.3M, of the premiere’s L+Sd audience.

NBCUniversal also says the premiere episode is up to a 1.44 ratings in the key 18-49 demo, a 182% lift from the 0.51 it scored on its debut night.

The first episode’s L+Sd rating helped it rank not only as the top scripted program of the night, but also the highest-rated scripted broadcast series premiere without an NFL lead-in in nearly two years.

After drawing in a live-plus-same-day viewership of nearly 4 million on NBC on Tuesday, Nov. 12, during its 8 p.m. debut, the premiere of “St. Denis Medical” grew to reach 7.4 million total viewers across NBC, Peacock and other platforms, according to live-plus-three-day Nielsen figures. On Peacock, “St. Denis Medical” ranks as NBC’s No. 1 most-watched comedy launch on the streamer.

The NBC comedy also scored impressive ratings for its premiere with a 0.51 rating in the key broadcast demo among adults 18-49, ranking as the No. 1 scripted program of the night. “St. Denis Medical” now ranks as the highest-rated scripted broadcast series premiere without an NFL lead-in in nearly two years, outpacing 17 non-nfl lead out scripted launches across the major broadcast networks in that time.

As seasonal depression and the constant stream of horrible news loom over the world, NBC has an answer to people's woes. The channel's new comedy St. Denis Medical currently has an 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and promises fun, laughter and heartwarming moments.
