Sitcoms are a staple of American culture and television. So many incredible stories have been told through the comedic weekly lens of life all over the world. Fans have grown accustomed to falling in love with their favorite characters and hoping for their success.
On top of those iconic characters, there are also iconic characters that have only needed one episode to stand out. Although it's rare to have guest appearances on great sitcoms that only run for a single episode, some of them have withstood the test of time.

Memorable and underutilized supporting characters in television history. Examples include Gail the Snail in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Mona Lisa Saperstein in Parks and Recreation. Some characters had potential for further development, while others were important to main characters' storylines but disappeared.
Ive always felt some of the best sitcom characters were often the most underutilized, and there were plenty of hilarious characters Id love to have seen more of. While I agree, theres some merit to the idea that less can be more when it came to beloved sitcom characters, and by keeping their appearances brief, the excitement whenever they appeared onscreen was be maintained. However, I cannot help feeling that some characters potential has been wasted through their limited use, and these sitcoms could have benefited from giving some of these secondary characters more time in the spotlight.
Im sure everybody has a different answer regarding...

Every minority in the good old U.S. of A has heard or internalized that damaging myth: There can only be one. One model minority, one diverse member of the team (or cast) — and in Hulu’s “The Other Black Girl,” one editorial star at Wagner Books, as long as she falls in line. The 10-episode thriller (available all at once) is a faithful and gripping adaptation that will leave viewers exhilarated, entertained, and wanting more — especially from star Sinclair Daniel.
Based on the New York Times bestseller by Zakiya Dalila Harris, “The Other Black Girl” centers on Nella (Daniel), a rising editorial assistant whose world gets rocked in good and bad ways (and some in between) with the arrival of — you guessed it — a second Black girl in her workplace. Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey serve as co-showrunners and executive producers along with Harris, Rashida Jones, Adam Fishbach, Tara Duncan,...

Though he remains skeptical of the machine, his wife Cass (Gabrielle Dennis) starts to dive into the idea that she could have something bigger in store for her. Mythic Quest Co-Creator Megan Ganz On Poppy And Ian's Big Origin Story Episode [Exclusive Interview]

"Mythic Quest" has done it again. The Apple TV+ series about a team of dysfunctional video game designers spends the majority of each season as a geeky, raucous workplace comedy, but at least once per season, it switches gears completely. In one half-hour detour per year, without fail, the show morphs into a character-driven tearjerker.
In its debut season, the show gave us "A Dark Quiet Death," a magnificent one-off starring Cristin Miloti and Jake Johnson as a couple who fall in and out of love while creating the video game of their dreams. Season 2 shared the origin story of F. Murray Abraham's C.W. Longbottom (Josh Brener in flashback), a writer who was never quite able to live up to his own expectations for himself. Now, in its third season, the show has just delivered yet again with "Sarian," an episode that shows audiences how Ian (Rob McElhenney...

Mere Mortals was created by Mythic Quest writers Ashly Burch, Katie McElhenney, and John Howell Harris, and will have David Hornsby, Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Megan Ganz as executive producers.

Sitcoms creatively peak sometime in their second or third year, and even the best ones would probably be best off ending after five or six seasons at the most. If this isn’t an immutable law, it’s at least common sense based on decades of history to back it up.
But the Gang from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has never had much use for laws, common sense, facts or anything in that vein. Which might help explain why it’s still capable of being one of TV...

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Season 9, Episode 10, “The Gang Squashes Their Beefs”
Directed by Todd Biermann
Written by Rob Rosell
Airs Wednesdays at 10pm Est on Fxx
Like the Tuesday comedies last week, the ABC Wednesday sitcoms take a week off as the Cma awards take their place. This feels like a much needed break from the underwhelming installments we’ve been getting as of late. With the unentertaining sitcoms unable to distract us this week, we’re able to focus and enjoy this week’s episode of It’s Always Sunny even more. Unfortunately this isn’t possible because it’s not the show’s greatest episode. Up until now this show has been outstanding as it delivers outrageously funny episodes week after week. Recently these episodes have all been happening outside of the show’s progressing narrative and they’ve really delivered. “The Gang Squashes Their Beefs...

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Season 9, Episode 2, “Gun Fever Too: Still Hot”
Directed by Todd Biermann
Written by Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney

Following last’s week solid season premiere, “Gun Fever Too: Still Hot” features a mass of even better moments. Operating like a “many years later” sequel to season 1′s “Gun Fever”, episode two of this season consists of The Gang getting super heated over gun control issues in Philly. The episode begins with a brilliant opening: Frank chomping down a sandwich and ranting about how more guns are needed on the streets, followed by a great scene which leads the gang to realise they’re hot about the opposite things.
