Gabriela Castillo(II)

Gabriela Castillo holds a Master of Fine Arts in Theater from the University of South Carolina, where she completed a three-year conservatory Professional Actors Training Program. She is a Second City Conservatory alumna and Saturday Night Live Scholarship recipient.
Gabriela's stage presence has been praised by regional theatre critics, who have described her as "luminous" (Isthmus) for her standout performance as Belmira in "The River Bride" at American Players Theatre, WI. Reviewers have also noted her skillful portrayal of the character, with one saying that she "craftily finds ways to get her way as Belmira" (Picture This Posts). While Gabriela has recently focused on stage work, she has also enjoyed success on screen, where she began her career.
Gabriela took a break from college, and spent a year in Los Angeles, where she immediately landed supporting roles in two feature films: She's With Me (2013) and Dude, Where's My Dog?! (2014). Gabriela has also worked as a model, booking regional and national print campaigns. In addition, she has competed in several beauty pageants, achieving Third Runner-up at Miss Kentucky USA (2012) and winning the title of Miss Hispanidad International (2013).
Although Gabriela began her artistic journey as a child pianist, winning numerous competitions in her birth country, Cuba, she discovered her passion for acting during her high school years at the Youth Performing Arts School in Kentucky, where her family resettled as humanitarian refugees.
