Season 1 of Tales of The Walking Dead has just concluded with six episodes that took a varied view of the zombie apocalypse.
The latest installment set within The Walking Dead universe was an anthology series that took a look at six different stories.
From the familiar, where fans learned more about Alpha (Samantha Morton) before she joined the Whisperers, right through to the bizarre, when a couple of work colleagues get stuck in a zombie apocalypse version of Groundhog Day.
And in between were plenty of other new characters that explored the outbreak. Some were prepared, others were not.
Some stories even bordered on ghost tales and whodunnits.
Now that the season is complete, viewers wonder if AMC will renew the TV show for another season.

Season one episode five of AMC’s post-apocalyptic anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead opens with Davon waking up from a blow to the head. The season’s penultimate episode is told in a non-linear style, so it’s a bit confusing to see this just-introduced character is handcuffed to a zombie who’s trying to attack him.
Davon experiences a brief flashback of a woman and some drawings on a wall. He grabs a prostatic leg and begins to hit the zombie over the head with it.
It’s the dead of night as this is going down, and a little girl finds him. He asks for help, and she yells for her mom. It’s obvious she knows him as she yells,...

Tales of the Walking Dead has prided itself in showing the apocalypse through a very different lens.
Tales of the Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 5 shifted the action to Maine as we picked up with a man named Davon (played by Jessie T. Usher), who finds himself caught up in a mystery in a cult-like community.
It was a fun episode that dialed up the horror to tell a different story as viewers had to pick who they thought was telling the truth.
The cast had different levels of familiarity with the franchise before signing up.
Usher recalls one of his best friends watching the series and getting him interested in it while The Walking Dead Season 2 was airing.
"I fell in love with a lot of the characters, and it hurt my heart to see a lot of them get killed off," Jessie shared with TV Fanatic.

The penultimate episode of Tales of The Walking Dead gives viewers a creepy melodramatic whodunnit.
Previously, the new anthology series has touched on various aspects of The Walking Dead universe.
Most episodes have remained close to what viewers expect to see but Episode 2 took a giant leap off to one side and introduced an episode that felt like Groundhog Day.
This week’s installment falls somewhere between the two.
While this episode could be seen as just another alternative community set in Madawaska, Maine, there is also an otherworldly feel as the episode is shot mostly at night and with a community that is intent on an old-fashioned witchhunt
So, let’s see what went down in Episode 5, titled Davon.

The anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead is scheduled to premiere on AMC at 9pm on Sunday, August 14th – and showrunner Channing Powell has said that they’re using this show to take risks and push the boundaries of the Walking Dead franchise. The first season of Tales of the Walking Dead consists of six episodes, and according to Powell we can expect three of those episodes to be closer to the tone of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, while the other three will be a bit more “out there”. But Tales of the Walking Dead isn’t going so far out there that it will include a musical episode. Yet. Powell confirmed that a musical episode has been scripted and could happen in a future season.
Powell said,
We did come up with a musical episode that, just for production reasons, was going to be...

Look I hear you: Shut up, Ross, get to it. And so I will. The trailer for “Tales of the Walking Dead” just dropped and you can watch it above now.
The trailer was rolled out during the show’s big Hall H panel Friday as part of San Diego Comic, hosted — as all “Walking Dead” panels are, by Chris Hardwick. On hand were chief content officer of ‘The Walking Dead’ Universe, Scott M. Gimple, showrunner and executive producer Channing Powell, director and EP Michael Satrazemis, and cast members Terry Crews, Samantha Morton and Danny Ramirez.
The trailer features elements from several of the show’s standalone stories that all paint a very stark picture of how the world fell — and honestly we’re reminded of a ton of the drama from the Covid-19 era, particularly the denialism, rugged individualist posturing, and the scapegoating.

For awhile there it really seemed as though the flagship Walking Dead series would go on forever.
AMC probably would have preferred it do so as it’s one of the network’s biggest-ever hits. But some casting turnover and the lack of new adaptation material from Robert Kirkman’s original comic series finally spelled the end for the show after 11 seasons.
Even though The Walking Dead as a TV show may be shuffling off its mortal coil, The Walking Dead franchise isn’t going anywhere any time soon. It’s almost as if it’s some kind of…reanimated corpse or something? The Walking Dead had already led to the creation of two spinoffs before it left the air and now AMC seems content to produce many more.
With so many Walking Dead spinoffs on the way, it can be hard to keep track of them all. So let...

Samantha Morton is headed back to the world of The Walking Dead.
AMC confirmed Friday that the fan favorite would appear on the forthcoming Tales of the Walking Dead anthology.
If you watch The Walking Dead online, you know the character was a big villain throughout The Walking Dead Season 9 and The Walking Dead Season 10.
However, Morton's widely praised run came to a halt when Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) murdered her in a brutal fashion.
Fans already took a trip to the past with Alpha during a flashback episode that witnessed how she became the merciless killer.
Alpha was the leader of the Whisperers, a group that traveled with hordes of zombies by donning zombie skin.
She is up there as one of the best villains on the series, and the after-effects of the group's actions continue to have a ripple effect on The Walking Dead Season 11, which takes place several years later.

While action films are often considered something of a ‘boys’ club’, there’s no denying that in the last few decades, the girls have more than proved they can hold their own, with a brilliant array of deadly leading ladies hitting the big screen. The Transporter Refuelled (out on Blu-ray, DVD and digital platforms from December 26th 2015 courtesy of Icon Film Distribution) is no exception, featuring a kick-ass femme fatale accompanied by a trio of deadly sidekicks- and to celebrate the release, we’re looking back on some other equally lethal leading ladies…

The Transporter: Refueled
Written by Luc Besson, Bill Collage and Adam Cooper
Directed by Camille Delamare
France/China, 2015
Whereas each of the first three Transporter vehicles were released at three-year intervals, Refueled arrived in theatres in September of 2015, seven years since audiences last saw lone wolf Frank Martin pack a mean punch towards clients that always try to change the deal. Since then, a television series starring Chris Vance (a co-Canadian production, no less) lasted a couple of seasons and the film franchise’s true star, Jason Statham moved on to bigger things, although whether they were better is entirely up for debate. Luc Besson, co-creator of the first trilogy, saw fit to dive back into the well in the hopes of reviving the character and his many antics in southern France, announcing at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival Frank Martin’s eventual return to the silver screen. Loan Chabanol steals the screen as a femme fatale with a secret agenda in "The Transporter Refueled" -- but she swears she's more than a pretty face. The former model reveals she was more than happy to put those days behind her, telling toofab's Brian Particelli that modeling "never defined who I was." "I was so bored being a model," she says while promoting the new action franchise prequel. "I would always go out for TV commercials and enjoyed the process of acting. I feel like modeling never defined who I was. That’s why I wanted to try something [different], I had no idea whether it would work out or not." Despite doubt from some of her friends -- including one who flat out told her, "I didn't think you were going to make it" -- Loan quickly found work in films directed by John Tuturo and Paul Haggis, acting...

We've provided blurbs from a few of the critics, below. Kyle Anderson from Entertainment Weekly, gave it a 67 grade. He stated: "It’s hard to deny the hedonistic joy in the way Delamarre plays with his various toys, and the goofball stunts—including the yacht-based finale, with a special appearance by a jet ski—are generally worth wandering through the dialogue desert." Andrew Barker over at Variety, gave it a 60 grade. He said:...

Newcomer Ed Skrein is Jason Statham - sorry, Frank Martin - in this reboot of Luc Besson's Transporter franchise. Full of the fights, fast cars and clunky one-liners fans have come to expect from a series that once saw its hero deflect a rocket with a tea tray*, it works on paper, but not in practice.
Transporter Refuelled's problems lie not in the joyful silliness of watching a muscular Uber driver elaborately dislocate goons' jaws, but in the Stathlessness of it all. Though intellectual property law might call "Frank Martin" a character that exists outside of The Stath™, it's the Guy Ritchie veteran's charm, confidence and world-weary delivery that somehow make Mr Martin special, and try as he might, Skrein can't keep up.

There isn’t a single level on which this crass reboot operates that isn’t a disaster. There is all sorts of stupid at work here, and all sorts of offensive. I’m “biast” (pro): nothing
I’m “biast” (con): not a fan of the earlier films

Stripped and chopped for parts, the Transporter trilogy could be reassembled into a single solid (and undoubtedly short) action movie. The first one had a fight scene where Jason Statham whirled around poles and through grease like a lethal Magic Mike; the second featured cinema’s first aerial undercarriage bomb disposal; the third contrived a reason to always keep Statham within 75 feet of the franchise’s real star, an Audi automobile. As a whole, however, the three movies were a shoddy refurbishing of American gearhead actioneers into Euro-thriller jalopies. Returning sans Statham, avec everything else, The Transporter: Refueled makes a poor case for rescuing this series from the scrapheap.
