F1 star Brad Pitt is not slowing down anytime soon, as he is now set to reunite with the director of one of the most underrated films in the actor's filmography. In 2014, Pitt starred in David Ayer's Fury, a World War II film that followed a five-person tank crew as they rush into enemy territory in order to deliver the final blow in the long-lasting war. Over 10 years later, Pitt is now teaming up with Ayer once again, but this time he will be flying solo in the Alaskan wilderness.
According to Deadline, Pitt has signed on to star in and produce Heart of the Beast for Paramount Pictures. Ayer is set to direct the action-adventure film based on a script by Cameron Alexander. Heart of the Beast will follow Pitt as a former Army Special Forces soldier attempting to survive the Alaskan wilderness after a plane crash. The...

Joel Kinnaman will play NFL star Jerry Smith in a racial drama that charts Smith’s friendship with his teammate for Washington, Brig Owens.
The untitled film will be set during the Civil Rights era and show how Smith, who was secretly gay and died from AIDS in 1986, found solace and support from Owens, who as a Black man going through law school after his NFL career faced his own persecution and bigotry.
No director has been set, but Kinnaman will also executive produce the film, and production hopes to begin in Q3 of 2021.
Tommy Oliver wrote the screenplay based on a story by Owens and Kevin Vance, and Tommy Oliver will also produce for his Confluential Films banner with Anthony Kaan, who will produce for Fandomodo Films. Kinnaman will executive produce with Jon Bernthal. Fandomodo Films is financing.

Joel Kinnaman will executive produce and star as NFL player Jerry Smith in a Fandomodo Films feature about the close friendship between Smith and his longtime Washington Redskins teammate Brig Owens, Variety has learned exclusively.
The film is set at the height of the civil rights movement between the mid-1960s and mid-1970s, during a time of societal upheaval. Smith was secretly gay — a fact he kept hidden until his death from AIDS in 1986 — and Owens faced constant challenges and bigotry as a Black man while attending law school. Through it all, the men formed a close bond to always be there for each other regardless of differences or obstacles.
“Jerry Smith was a star on the field, but was never able to find fulfillment in his personal life,” Kinnaman said. “He had Brig to help him through his struggle, but to this day so many young people don...

Last week, Sony Pictures was crippled by a cyber-attack from an organization known as the Guardians of Peace (G.O.P.), which disabled all of their communications inside the company. The organization threatened to expose the studios' "top secrets" if their demands were not met, which have not been been disclosed. Over the weekend, G.O.P. leaked five Sony movies onto the Internet, four of which have not been released in theaters yet. The movies that were leaked online include Fury, Annie (December 19), Mr. Turner (December 19), Still Alice (January 19, 2015) and To Write Love On Her Arms, which doesn't have a release date set.
Over the weekend, Mashable received an email from an individual claiming to be the, "boss of the G.O.P." The site claims that their email sent in response went unanswered by the G.O.P. Take a look at an excerpt from that email below.

Chicago – “Fury” just might be Brad Pitt’s “Saving Private Ryan.” At its heart it’s a crowd pleaser, but it never shies away from the sheer brutality of war. While it doesn’t have anything quite so devastating as “Saving Private Ryan’s” D-day sequence, it depicts the everyday horrors of killing the enemy and the men who must force themselves to make their peace with the casualties that pile up in the muck. “Fury” is equally successful in its battle sequences and in its smaller moments among its crew inside the tank. Most surprisingly of all it coaxes a decent, dare I say good, performance out of none other than Shia Labeouf – wonders never cease.
Rating: 4.5/5.0
Pitt stars as Sergeant Don “Wardaddy” Collier, and leads his band of soldiers in an old warhorse tank named “Fury” as it plows through Germany in the waning days of World War II.

On October 17, director David Ayer’s film Fury opens in theaters. For many whose fathers and grandfathers served during World War II over in Europe, this movie will undoubtedly take on a very personal meaning.
Sony Pictures has released six powerful new clips and photos from the movie.
Fury takes place in late-war Germany, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.
“The war’s almost over and this dying elephant – the Nazi empire – is on its last legs,” Ayer explains. “It’s a different world from your usual war movie, where we...

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s return to the big screen can’t be called much of a comeback as The Last Stand, Escape Plan and Sabotage were all bombs. Sabotage tanked the hardest as it was barely able to cross the ten million dollar mark. Perhaps Arnie will regain his footing from his role in the upcoming Terminator sequel, but it seems unlikely that he will ever front a non-sequel again (or at least for another five years). That’s too bad as Sabotage is a fun throwback to his early eighties action movies which delivers the “red meat city” PG-13 action movies of late are unable to do. Mixing Commando with a slasher sensibility, Sabotage has Schwarzenegger leading a team of DEA agents (including Mireille Enos, Josh Holloway, Terrence Howard, Joe Manganiello, and Sam Worthington) who are being hunted and by a mysterious killer. My Sabotage Blu-ray review follows after the jump.

Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Expendables 2, The Terminator series) stars as the leader of an elite DEA task force whose members are targeted by a mysterious killer in Sabotage, an edge-of-your-seat action thriller coming to Blu-ray Combo Pack, including Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD with UltraViolet and On Demand on July 22, 2014 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Sabotage will also be available on Digital HD on July 8, 2014.
Directed by David Ayer, the acclaimed director of End of Watch and screenwriter of Training Day, Sabotage centers on DEA agent Breacher Wharton (Schwarzenegger), who leads a daring raid on a heavily-armed drug cartel safe house. Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in the action thriller Sabotage as the head of an elite DEA task force assigned to take on some of the most vicious drug cartels in the world. The group raids a cartel safe house with seemingly successful results, but then the agents begin to mysteriously die off, one-by-one, and seemingly anyone could be responsible. We went deep into the production of this brutal, very visceral and bloody experience with the cast and crew. Watch as Ryan J. Downey sits down for select exclusive interviews with action legend Arnold Schwarzenegger and his team, including co-stars Joe Manganiello and Josh Holloway, as well as director David Ayer.
Sabotage was released March 28th, 2014 and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington, Joe Manganiello, Josh Holloway, Terrence Howard, Max Martini, Kevin Vance, Mark Schlegel. The film is directed by David Ayer.

The recent footage for David Ayer's Sabotage has certainly shown off the bloody violence prevalent in the R-rated actioner, but this new red-band trailer surprisingly shows us the reason that audiences should become invested in the film's characters. A new international trailer for director David Ayer’s (writer of Training Day/director of End of Watch) Sabotage has just been released. Based on Agatha Christie’s classic mystery novel And Then There Were None, the film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and centers on a DEA task force who heists a drug cartel safe house, only to start getting picked off one-by-one by an unknown assassin. While I was already excited for the project due to Ayer directing, all the footage I've seen makes the film look even better than I expected. Open Road Films announced today that they will release director David Ayer’s Sabotage movie from April 11 to the new date of March 28th. The action-thriller stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Olivia Williams, Mireille Enos, Sam Worthington, Harold Perrineau, Terrence Howard, Joe Manganiello, Max Martini, Josh Holloway, and Kevin Vance.
Other films opening on the final weekend of March are Paramount’s Noah starring Russell Crowe and Pantelion’s Cesar Chavez starring Michael Peña (End Of Watch) and Rosario Dawson and John Malkovich.
In Sabotage, Arnold Schwarzengger leads an elite DEA task force that takes on the world’s deadliest drug cartels. When the team successfully executes a high-stakes raid on a cartel safe house, they think their work is done – until, one-by-one, the team members mysteriously start to be eliminated. As the body count rises, everyone is a suspect.
David Ayer (End Of Watch) directed and wrote Sabotage based on the original screenplay by Skip Woods.

Open Road Films has shifted the released date for director David Ayer’s (End of Watch) upcoming actioner Sabotage. Loosely based on Agatha Christie’s classic mystery novel Ten Little Indians, the film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and centers on a DEA task force who heists a drug cartel safe house, only to start getting picked off one-by-one by an unknown assassin. Open Road has moved the film’s release date up from April 11th to March 28th, where it will act as a bit of counterprogramming opposite Darren Aronofsky’s Biblical epic Noah and the comedy sequel A Haunted House 2. The film’s first trailer actually looks quite fun and Ayer has an impressive track record, but the “screenplay by Skip Woods” credit is room for pause given the A Good Day to Die Hard scribe’s past efforts. Sabotage also stars Sam Worthington, Olivia Williams, Mireille Enos, Harold Perrineau,...

Brad Pitt looks like he just returned from the battlefield. And for good reason. The 49-year-old star, along with Shia Labeouf and his Fury costars, posed for a picture snapped by the film's director, David Ayers. The men, including Kevin Vance, Jon Bernthal, and Logan Lerman, are dressed in their army uniforms and all have somewhat serious expressions as they wrap their arms around each other. "Day 56," Ayers captioned the twitpic, which he added on Friday, Dec. 13. Ayers has been releasing a behind-the-scenes snapshot every day from the upcoming WWII drama. Pitt's short hair is slicked back and his clean-shaven face is covered in grease. Pitt and Labeouf play American soldiers...

Thankfully, his enthusiasm seems to match our own, as he's been sharing plenty of peeks behind the scenes on his Twitter account, including some group shots of his cast. Brad Pitt and Shia Labeouf reportedly went camping together to prepare for their new movie Fury.
The pair joined three other cast members on a bonding trip in a forest in Buckinghamshire, Us Weekly reports.
The getaway took place earlier this month when director David Ayer ordered them to stay in the wilderness without their mobile phones.
World War II movie Fury also stars Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal and Kevin Vance, as well as Scott Eastwood, who didn't take part in the trip.
Set in 1945, they play a five-man tank crew who must mount a last offence against the Nazi forces as the regime begins to crumble.
Fury will be released on November 14, 2014.
