Exclusive: Production has wrapped on Bring the Law, an action-thriller that marks the directorial debut of actress Scout Taylor Compton (2007’s Halloween).

The film, hailing from Hillin Entertainment and produced by Daemon Hillin and Carolina Brasil, stars Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), Peter Facinelli (Twilight), Nicky Whelan (The Flood), Danielle Harris (Halloween), Brendan Fehr (Roswell), and Leah Pipes (The Originals).

The film sees a grieving homicide detective chosen to lead a task force in Los Angeles to stop a criminal organization. He soon unravels a conspiracy involving corruption in his own department.

Film Bridge International will be repping world sales. Pic is written by Josh Ridgway from a story by Daniel Figueiredo.

Bloody Disgusting has learned that the post-production process is well underway on the upcoming horror movie Obscura, which is planning for a release sometime later this year.

In the film, directed by Jerry G. Angelo, Grant Janes, Joe Lujan, and Thomas Hennessy, “A CIA special operations team out on demolition maneuvers collides with an outlaw biker gang. The groups are forced to fight for survival against a creature of unknown origins.”

Spoiler Alert… I f**king loved Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar.

This was quite possibly the most fun I have had watching a sci-fi movie as of late… Any budget! You know you’re in for an absolute ride when in the first 10 minutes the line “I’m going to bathe in your blood and tears” is dropped. Normally a scary thought if it hadn’t been for the massive lava dragon wormy dinosaur thing moments prior.

I will always be a fan of a movie that is fully aware that it maybe doesn’t have the budget it needs to be the movie it wants to be, but does not let that stand in its way of throwing...

Plot: Space scavengers and a group of mercenaries race across the cosmos in a search for a long-lost freighter that is said to contain great treasure.

Review: I have a lot of admiration for filmmakers who don’t let financial limitations stifle their creativity or force them to minimize the scope of their stories. In that regard, there’s a lot to admire about director Garo Setian’s sci-fi adventure film Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar. Just like the title instantly brings to mind Star Wars, Space Wars is reminiscent of the low budget sci-fi movies producers like Roger Corman pumped out in the wake of the original Star Wars’ success. You know, movies like Battle Beyond the Stars and the movies that featured stock footage from Battle Beyond the Stars. Space Wars just happens to have been made on an even lower budget than those had.

"It can't be found." Neither can any good directors, I guess. Uncork'd Ent. has revealed an official trailer for a low budget sci-fi creation called Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar, marking the feature directorial debut of an editor named Garo Setian. Yeah there isn't much here. The title and the footage looks like it's another The Asylum spoof, with even worse VFX. Life is an adventure for space scavengers Kip Corman and his daughter Taylor as they navigate their ship through a universe filled with monsters, aliens, and robots in order to reach the mythical Deepstar and collect the riches within. They want to make bank in hopes that the money will allow them to bring back their loved one from the dead. Screen Rant is pleased to present an exclusive first look at the trailer for Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar, a sci-fi adventure from Uncork'd Entertainment. The action-packed film, which arrives in select theaters on April 21 before becoming available on digital May 2, stars Michael Paré (Streets of Fire), Olivier Gruner (Showdown in Manila), and Sarah French (Pretty Boy). It was selected to screen at Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival, already highlighting its great promise.

Space Wars: Quest for the Deepstar, which was directed by Gero Setian and written by Joe Knetter, follows a father and daughter who work as space scavengers and are searching for legendary treasures which they must outrun evil mercenaries to obtain. It’s been a while since I’ve watched a low-budget sci-fi action movie that wants to be a big-budget sci-fi movie but that’s exactly what you get with Space Wars: Quest For The Deepstar. The filmmakers did not let a lack of funds get in the way of lots of CGI, huge monsters, spacecraft and futuristic weaponry!

In Space Wars: Quest For The Deepstar we see various groups of people crossing paths across the galaxy all linked basically in wanting to kill each other. Of course, we do get the ‘good guys’, the father and daughter duo of Kip (Michael Pare) and Taylor (Sarah French). They soon get chased by a group of outlaws when they pick up...

After botched laser eye surgery treatment, actress Faye completely loses her vsion and is trying to get used to life in the dark. We find Faye attending support groups and making visually impaired freinds who are helping her deal with things. She’s also falling for the leader of the support group, Luke, who is a mute and can only communicate through his mobile. We are going to spend the day/night with Faye as she learns she may not be as alone in the house as she thinks.

I am skipping straight to end with this review because, honestly, Blind is pretty average, not amazing but good enough to rave about either. However… Sarah French is absolutely brilliant in the lead role and holds this film up on her shoulders aloine.

FrightFest, the UK horror festival that was forced to move online this year because of pandemic disruption, has unveiled a lineup for its 21st edition (August 27-31) including seven world premieres.

The event opens with the UK premiere of Sky Sharks, which features Nazi zombie-piloted airborne killer sharks.

World premieres include Logan Thomas’s There’s No Such Thing As Vampires, Patrick Rea’s I Am Lisa, Ruben Pla’s The Horror Crowd, G-Hey Kim’s Don’t Click, Toby Watts’ Playhouse, Airell Anthony Hayles and Sam Casserly’s They’re Outside, and Francesco Giannini’s Hall.

Industry-focused events will include a panel hosted by Den Of Geek’s UK editor Rosie Fletcher about how the horror genre has been affected by the pandemic.

All online film screenings will be geo-locked to UK audiences and available through FrightFest’s website.

Written by Mario von Czapiewski and with Marcel Walz (who remade Blood Feast back in 2016) as director, Rootwood is a horror flick about a couple of student podcasters named William and Jessica who are making a documentary about the myth of The Wooden Devil. Entering a forest by the name of… wait for it… Rootwood Forest, they, along with a recruit named Erin, go about investigating this creature and the truths about its existence. Think The Blair Witch Project with a modern twist, and you’ve got an idea of what the inspiration behind Rootwood is.

High Octane Pictures has unveiled an official trailer for a low budget horror thriller film titled Rootwood, one of the latest offerings from German indie horror filmmaker Marcel Walz. This premiered last year at a small genre festival, and will be available on VOD in April coming up. Two students who host "The Spooky Hour" podcast together are hired by a Hollywood film producer to shoot a horror documentary about the curse of The Wooden Devil. Soon they will discover it might not just be an "urban legend" after all. The horror film co-stars scream queens Elissa Dowling and Felissa Rose, along with Tyler Gallant, Sarah French, Tiffani Fest, and Brandon Rhea. Big time reveal shot at the end of this trailer, but I guess that's the only way they can sell it and convince people to watch this.

'Her husband was an animal!' You don't need much more enticement than that to pull you into the new horror thriller Alpha Wolf. But wait, there's more! This latest entry in the werewolf horror sub-genre stars Casper Van Dien as the flesh hungry animal. Tell me you're not going to see it now.

In Alpha Wolf, when Virginia and her husband Jack spend a long weekend in the idyllic countryside, they encounter a creature that tears their lives apart. While the attack has an effect on each of them, it brings out the worst in Jack.

Kevin VanHook directs Alpha Wolf from a screenplay by Wes C. Caefer. VanHook got his start as a VFX artist, first working on TV shows like Xena: Warrior Princess and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. He also worked on Hercules before making his mark on feature films with Sandra Bullock's Miss Congeniality.

The Horror Channel has an Easter treat for fans of Hammer films, as their UK-only Hammer-thon will air March 26th and 27th.
