The next Interview with the Vampire spinoff gets an ominous new teaser, with The Talamasca inching closer to a debut. Mayfair Witches season 2 has just returned to AMC and AMC+ with new episodes, but the Immortal Universe is set to expand with a third series based on Anne Rice's work. The Talamasca is focused on a secret organization, seeded in both Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches, that's meant to keep track of supernatural creatures.

On X (formerly Twitter), the account for Interview with the Vampire shared a brief teaser. It is a brief message. A veteran of the organization (played by Elizabeth McGovern) makes a simple statement: “We watch the witches.” The teaser ends by restating that the Talamasca is always watching and always there. Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches is back. Almost two years after its Season 1 finale aired, Mayfair Witches returns today on AMC and AMC+ with its Season 2 premiere.

Based on the novel trilogy Lives of the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice, Mayfair Witches follows neurosurgeon Dr. Rowan Fielding, played by Alexandra Daddario, as she learns she is the heiress to a dynasty of powerful witches haunted by a sinister spirit. The supernatural horror series also stars Harry Hamlin as Cortland Mayfair, Tongayi Chirisa as Ciprien Grieve, and Jack Huston as Lasher. The eight-episode first season aired on AMC between Jan. 8 and Feb. 26, 2023. The second season, also consisting of eight episodes, premieres tonight on Jan. 5, and will run until Mar. 2, 2025.

Anne Rice's Immortal Universe is showing no signs of slowing down, with new seasons of both Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire on the way. Tongayi Chirisa, who stars in the former as Talamasca agent Ciprien Grieve, recently teased that a crossover between the two series could be in the works.

Speaking with Screen Rant ahead of Mayfair Witches' Season 2 premiere on Jan. 5, Chirisa noted how it would not be unusual for his character to encounter other supernatural beings due to his work with the secret society, Talamasca. "I think for Cip, it's not uncommon to encounter the supernatural," he explained. "I think with what's happening in Season 2, Cip was a certain level of Talamasca agent until certain things start to happen that will finally give him access to some of the deeper secrets of the Talamasca."

A year and a half ago, we heard that AMC was developing a third TV series based on the works of Anne Rice, adding to the franchise they’ve been building out of the Vampire Chronicles novels and the Mayfair Witch books written by Rice. The upcoming series The Talamasca has added a new star. Talamasca refers to a fictional secret society usually referred to as the Order of Talamasca, which stems from the work of author Anne Rice. The Order of Talamasca has appeared in the Vampire Chronicles series as well as the Lives of the Witches of Mayfair series. The Talamasca first appeared in the 1988 novel The Queen of the Damned, but they have not yet appeared on TV. This will change with the upcoming series The Talamasca, which is part of the Immortal Universe.

Maisie Richardson-Sellers has been cast as a series regular in the upcoming AMC series “The Talamasca,” Variety has learned exclusively.

The Talamasca is a secretive group featured in a number of Rice’s novels. The official logline for the show states that it will “focus on the men and women responsible for tracking and containing the witches, vampires, and other creatures scattered around the globe.”

Richardson-Sellers joins previously announced cast members Nicholas Denton, William Fichtner, and Elizabeth McGovern. She will play Olive, who is described as “a beguiling and ambitious agent of the Talamasca, assigned to be Guy Anatole’s (Denton) American handler. She is deft with information and a master of disguises in the old tradition of spy craft.”

Richardson-Sellers is known for her roles in shows like “The Originals” and “Legends of Tomorrow” at The CW, as well as the six-part cyber thriller “The Undeclared War” alongside Simon Pegg and Mark Rylance.

Caity Lotz's Sara Lance, who originated on Arrow, was part of the main cast of Legends of Tomorrow, the third series set in The CW's Arrowverse. Despite the show's passionate fanbase, Legends was canceled after its seventh season, leaving its characters' storylines unresolved.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant to promote her new movie The Lockdown, Lotz opened up about Legends' cancelation and where Season 8 would have taken her character had the show continued. "Yeah, it definitely was a cliffhanger," she admitted, noting how the series finale ended with Booster Gold and the Legends being arrested. If you thought season one of Hulu’s limited series Nine Perfect Strangers gave a new definition of locked up, there’s going to be plenty of cabin fever come season 2.

We caught up with the series star and EP Nicole Kidman last night on the red carpet for her AFI Life Achievement Award to ask how the next season is coming along.

“Swiss Alps And Crazy! Hold on tight!” exclaimed Kidman. She was talking about the series’ setting which switches up from the Tranquillum House retreat in the fictional town of Cabrillo, CA to the Swiss Alps. Kidman plays the wellness resort’s founder Masha Dmitrichenko who has it out for her guests by dispensing to them a psychoactive drug, namely Psilocybin. Masha is arrested, cradling her hallucinated late daughter in her arms. However, she appears to have beaten the rap as the Tranquillum House guests covered for her illegal actions during police interviews.

Three more have been added to the cast of the second season of Hulu's Nine Perfect Strangers. Variety revealed that Henry Golding, Mark Strong, and Lena Olin are joining Nicole Kidman, Murray Bartlett, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Dolly De Leon, King Princess, Aras Aydin, and Lucas Englander in the new season.

The plot of season two has not been revealed, but the first season was based on Liane Moriarty's novel of the same name. In the story, Masha Dmitrichenko (Kidman) is the Russian founder of Tranquillum House, a wellness resort. Nine strangers from the city stay at the resort and discover things about their host and each other.

Created by David E. Kelley, the mystery-thriller series debuted in August 2021, and Hulu renewed the limited series in June 2023.

Rising British talents C.J Beckford and Maisie Richardson-Sellers are set to appear in the feature “Run.”

The film, from director Bernard Kordieh and Rashomon Films, was shot in 2022 under Covid-19 restrictions and is, per the description, a “social impact feature film designed to start a conversation about mental health and strip away the stigma surrounding the issue.”

“As filmmakers, finding one’s creative voice is a difficult and sometimes isolating process, and the dynamics of personal relationships can either aid or hinder this journey,” Kordieh said in a statement. “‘Run’ explores the complex relationship between mental health and creativity, as our protagonist grapples with the pressure to produce great work and the emotional toll it takes on him. It also explores the complexities of relationships with no true ‘villains’ in a break-up that seeks to create a story that balances raw authenticity with magic realism on a deep and emotional level.

Liane Moriarty adaptation Nine Perfect Strangers was a success for Hulu in the US (and Amazon here), so while it appeared to be a one-and-done limited series in 2021, it's going the White Lotus route and will spawn a season 2. And talking of Lotus, Murray Bartlett is among those making deals to co-star alongside a returning Nicole Kidman.

You might recall that Strangers' first season saw a group of city-dwellers with considerable emotional baggage travel to a wellness retreat at the secluded Tranquilla House in California. Under guru Masha’s (Kidman) regime, the strangers embark on what they believe is an experimental path towards self-improvement. It soon becomes clear, however, that they’ve been chosen for another reason.

With David E. Kelley back running the writers' room, the new season will follow the basic path of the first season, except this time set in the Swiss Alps.

And the cast around Kidman will also change.

In a surprising move, Hulu has confirmed that the Nicole Kidman drama Nine Perfect Strangers will return for season 2. Adapted from the Liane Moriarty novel of the same name by Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley, Nine Perfect Strangers unfolded in Tranquillum House, a mysterious wellness retreat overseen by the charismatic founder Masha (Kidman). In a somewhat surprising turn of events, Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers — which was previously billed as a limited series — has snagged a Season 2 renewal at the streamer.

The formal pickup comes after Hulu opted to submit Nine Perfect Strangers in the drama series categories, and not limited series, for the 2022 Primetime Emmys last May, indicating that a potential Season 2 could be on the horizon.

Hulu is proceeding with the long-rumored second season of Nine Perfect Strangers. Nicole Kidman is returning to executive producer and star, with a new group of the titular strangers around her. Two-time Oscar nominee Liv Ullmann, Emmy winner Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus The Last Of Us), Dolly de Leon (Triangles Of Sadness), Maisie Richardson-Sellers (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) and Turkish actor Aras Aydin are set to star opposite Kidman, sources tell Deadline, with casting of the remaining roles ongoing.

Variety reported in May 2022 that the show was nearing a deal to return, though no castings were confirmed at that time. It is now confirmed that Nicole Kidman will return in the role of resort director Masha as well as in her capacity as executive producer.

In addition, “White Lotus” and “The Last of Us” breakout Murray Bartlett is nearing a deal to star in Season 2, according to sources. The role would deepen Bartlett’s relationship with Hulu, as he recently starred in the streamer’s limited series “Welcome to Chippendales” opposite Kumail Nanjiani.

Also joining “Nine Perfect Strangers” for its second season are Liv Ullmann, Dolly De Leon, Maisie Richardson Sellers, and Aras Aydin.

Review: Dementia is one of the scariest things I can think of. Losing the ability to access your own memories and being unable to recognize your loved ones is downright awful. So I was really interested when they brought up the concept and seemed like that would be the main idea at play Jagged Mind. I feel silly being so wrong. What starts as an interesting idea with our lead Billy seeing her death over and over, unable to properly comprehend time, swiftly devolves into a near Lifetime movie. Or maybe that was just the lighting.

Knowing that this started as a short film, First Date, (as part of Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween) I can see elements that carried over here.

Kelley Kali’s Jagged Mind is a unique kind of erotic thriller. Not only does the film focus on a lesbian couple, Kali and writer Allyson Morgan broach a subject rarely seen in queer cinema: domestic abuse. The film approaches its weighty topic with urgency and graveness, but the distinct genre elements make everything more digestible.

Much like its basis, Morgan’s short film First Date, Jagged Mind shows the lengths some people will go to to be with the person they love. Or more accurately, the person they are obsessed with. Unlike other thrillers, though, this one features a time loop. The audience is thrown in head first as the main character, Billie (played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers), almost immediately experiences another blackout. Billie is clueless apart from a troubling sense of déjà vu, however viewers will quickly figure out what (or who) is behind this strange malady.

“When I read the script, the one thing I really loved, that I’d not seen much of — this is an LGBTQ story,” explained Kali through a bright smile. “But it’s not a coming out story.
