It doesn’t always happen that the wishes of an entire fandom come true, but readers of the Culpa Mía trilogy by Mercedes Ron were just granted one. The forbidden enemies-to-lovers romance novel series, which is one of the biggest Wattpad and TikTok sensations, was adapted into a Spanish movie in 2023, and was only recently followed by the second one, Culpa Tuya. To its English-speaking fans’ delight, an English reboot of the romance movie, My Fault: London, directed by Dani Girdwood, was released on Prime Video on February 13.
Following Noah as she has to move to a new country with her mother in order to live in her stepfather's massive mansion, the movie centers on the forbidden love developing between her and her step-brother, Nick. With Noah’s real father in prison and leaving her with nothing but the trauma from his violent nature and the memories of their shared love for racing,...

Amazon’s new teen romance movie, My Fault: London, sparked interest in a sequel.
An English language remake of the Spanish film Culpa mía (itself an adaptation of a Wattpad story by the same name), My Fault: London explores what happens when 18-year-old Noah (played by Asha Banks) develops feelings for her new step-brother Nick, upon moving overseas to London.
Although critically lambasted, My Fault: London holds an 89% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, leaving many viewers wanting more.

Directed by Dani Girdwood and Charlotte Fassler, Prime Video’s romantic thriller film, My Fault: London is the remake of the Spanish drama, Culpa Mía, which is based on the novel series. The idea of the romantic drama germinated as a Wattpad story. With complicated characters populating the tight plot, My Fault: London is expected to grab enough attention over 2025 Valentine’s week.
Asha Banks as Noah
Young, impulsive, and unpredictable—these three words accurately capture Noah’s energy in My Fault: London. Noah’s character is brought to life by the 21-year-old English actress, Asha Alice Banks. After a successful tryst with the English stage since her early childhood, Asha’s foray into films occurred with the German musical film The Magic Flute, directed by Florian Sigl. Banks is also a known face on television among the English audience, with her brief appearances in EastEnders and Call the Midwife.

Prime Video may sound like it is taking full responsibility for the latest movie to land at the top of the global chart, and for many people that is probably the least it could do. My Fault: London has debuted at number one worldwide (currently number two in the U.S.) as it was pretty much guaranteed to do thanks to the success of the heavily panned 2023 Spanish-language movie My Fault (Culpa Mia) and its 2024 sequel Your Fault (Culpa Tuya). Released on February 13, just in time to rope in some young lovebirds with its illicit romantic storyline, and strange comparisons to the Fast & Furious franchise, the English-language remake has failed to improve on the franchise’s reputation with critics thanks to essentially being a straight remake of the original movie.

Asha Banks is quite literally in the driver’s seat, not only with her career but also in the high-stakes romantic drama My Fault: London.
The 21-year-old English actress and singer, who got her start in theater productions at London’s West End, is now showing she’s a force on the screen and in the studio, with her upcoming music EP, Untie My Tongue.
Last year, she starred in Netflix’s hit show A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, which has already been renewed for a second season. Now she’s leading Prime Video’s new Wattpad film My Fault: London, based on the novel Culpa Mía, by Mercedes Ron, which follows her character, Noah, who is forced to move from America to London to live with her mother’s new husband and his son, Nick. In “My Fault: London,” there simply aren’t enough alterations to author Mercedes Ron’s source material, “Culpa Mía,” to make its trashy gimmick the least bit palatable. The Wattpad fiction’s original Spanish adaptation of the same name, which debuted on Prime Video in 2023, seemingly fits the definition of a “guilty pleasure,” making audiences cringe as non-blood related stepsiblings challenge puritanical social mores with their embarrassingly toxic, borderline incestuous courtship. At least that iteration didn’t contain the parents laughing off any sneaking suspicions their kids are having hot sex with each other under their roof.
This slightly-toned-down English-language version plays as if a teen Jackie Collins wrote an illicit romance between two cantankerous step-siblings set in the worlds of “The Fast and the Furious” and “Never Back Down.” If that sounds chaotically messy, it’s because it is. The leading lovers’ sharp edges are shaved down, softened to...

Going into My Fault: London, I had my expectations at the bottom of the Thames, because I absolutely despised the Spanish original, Culpa Mia. Now, don’t get me wrong, I definitely think we need angsty, teen, sexual Wattpad adaptations, but in my opinion, they’ve got to have some meat on their bones to actually be worthwhile. Culpa Mia was one of Prime Video’s most watched films, based on the novel of the same name. The film was the first of a trilogy (which we’ve already got a second part for) and delivers on the promise of a sensual film that is determinedly only bothered about the sexual tension between the two main characters, step-siblings Noah and Nick. This is where I was immediately thrown off because I feel like we’ve somehow lost touch with what a teen movie should look like; sure, there can be tons of sex,...

The Spanish-language adaptations of Mercedes Ron’s Culpables novels have been smash-hits on Prime Video – Culpa Tuya is Prime Video’s most successful international original ever. That meant the pressure was on first-time directing duo Dani Girdwood and Charlotte Fassler as they took on helming the English-language adaptation of the first chapter in the series, Culpa Mía.
Their film relocates the action to England and My Fault: London launches in time for Valentine’s Day, dropping on on February 13. Asha Banks (A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder) and Matthew Broome (The Buccaneers) play Noah and Nick, roles made famous on-screen by Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara in the Spanish movies.
“There was something lovely about the fact that we’re a duo and we were working primarily with these two leads who became a duo in their own right,” Fassler told Deadline. “It was a first feature for all of us.

“My Fault: London” is an Amazon Prime Video Original movie, based on a best-selling novel, that will be released on February 13, 2025.
“Everyone kept telling me that London would be a fresh start.”
From Florida to London – Climate Change, Culture Change, and Love
In “My Fault: London“, a woman, living in Florida, with her teenage daughter uproots her family and moves to London because she married a man who lives in London. For both mother and daughter, it’s supposed to be a “fresh start”. But especially for the daughter. Even though she’s only 18, apparently, her life already needs a reset. Sometimes, teens need to move to a new environment and start all over again. In Noah’s case, her new environment is an entirely different country and a brand new family. Her mom’s new husband also has a teenage son, Nick.

Amazon MGM Studios boss Jennifer Salke, Octavia Spencer and Priyanka Chopra Jonas were among the big names lauding the role of women in TV and film at a Prime Video event today.
“Women are at the core of our business – from our incredible actors, our inventive producers and our executive teams,” said Salke, at the Trailblazers event in Central London. The event saw multiple stars, producers and directors touching on issues such as pay parity and production, with several trailers and first looks also unveiled.
During a conversation with Academy Award-winner Octavia Spencer, Salke said the pitch for The Help star’s untitled comedy thriller series opposite Hannah Waddingham was among the best she had heard in her career.
“I have heard thousands of pitches, maybe tens of thousands, and it was a top three — the relationship of two women at the center with action, humor and heart,” she said.

Note: There are spoilers for all six episodes of “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” in the article below.
There’s a lot to unpack in that “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” ending. BBC’s adaptation of the best-selling Holly Jackson book, which Netflix debuted internationally on Aug. 1, is full of twists and turns, and more overlapping crimes than you might expect from YA murder mystery.
“Wednesday” breakout Emma Myers stars as Pip, a teen sleuth who cracks open a five-year-old murder case, determined to prove that an innocent man took the blame. And that determination gets Pip tangled up in more crimes than you would believe, from a hit-and-run cover-up to kidnapping — and ultimately, yes, an answer at last to what really happened to Andie Bell.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers for the entirety of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder.
The six-part series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, now out on Netflix after first arriving via the BBC in the United Kingdom, takes a lot of pages out of Holly Jackson’s book as it’s adapted from the first book of the same name in Jackson’s trilogy. Emma Myers (Wednesday) brings Pop Fitz-Amobi, an amateur detective who decides to investigate the case of Andie Bell’s (India Lillie Davies) murder.
The justice system previously found that Andie’s boyfriend Salil Singh killed her, but Pip can’t shake the suspicion that he was innocent. Thus unfolds a complicated trail through chaotic parties, Andie’s unknown life and more.
As an executive producer on the show, author Holly Jackson made it a priority to make sure the spirit of the book was apparent in the television adaptation.

One needn’t have read Holly Jackson’s novel of the same name to immediately identify exactly what Netflix’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is up to. The six-part series fits squarely into a well-trod, but deservedly beloved tradition of mysteries about meddling teenage gumshoes, with traces of everything from Nancy Drew to Harriet the Spy to Veronica Mars, if you’re looking for American antecedents. Or, with its small village British setting, maybe it’s more Miss Teen Marple?
Adapted by Poppy Cogan and directed with solid, tone-blending balance by Dolly Wells and Tom Vaughan, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is too familiar and too rushed, especially toward its final episode, to get anywhere near the pinnacle of the prolific genre. The series, while based on a successful YA novel, lacks the depth of the book's characters and subplots. Pip's determined sleuthing in A Good Girl's Guide to Murder is riveting, but her questionable choices may leave viewers puzzled. While some elements may fall short, the series manages to tell a complete narrative arc without unnecessary dramatic additions.
Netflix's latest teen thriller, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder (2024) , is based on the book series by Holly Jackson, and it's easy to see the series' literary roots. The main character, Pippa, is the titular good girl, and her dedication to school and academia is not-so-subtly communicated through a shot of her reading Jane Eyre in the middle of a shopping aisle.
