So many Star Wars movies and TV shows have been canceled over the years, leaving fans longing for certain stories that never came to life. Some projects, like the Boba Fett film and Rogue Squadron, had potential but were scrapped due to various reasons, including creative differences. Even with the cancellations, there are still possibilities for the future, with different directors and writers attached to upcoming films in the Star Wars universe.
So many Star Wars movies and TV shows have been canceled over the years, but here are ten that I'd have desperately wanted to see. When the Skywalker saga wrapped up in 2019, the franchise essentially moved to the small screen - and it's yet to return to the cinemas. The last few years have seen so many canceled Star Wars movies and TV shows, as Lucasfilm struggled to figure out which direction to take next.

This article contains spoilers for "The Mandalorian" episode, "The Convert."
As "The Mandalorian" embarks on its third season, it faces tougher challenges than Pedro Pascal's beskar armor-clad Din Djarin does on a daily basis. For one thing, the return of Grogu neé Baby Yoda in the other Disney+ series, "The Book of Boba Fett," may have confused some of "The Mandalorian" viewers who skipped that show, as well as people who had tuned in for more Boba action and not "Mandalorian 2.5." For another, like most series entering their third season, the show faces many questions about its future: how long is it going to run, is there an endgame in play, and where else can the show (and Din and Grogu) go exploring?
That last question began to be answered with the show's latest episode, "The Convert." Although the beginning and end of the episode followed the further adventures of Din,...

[This story contains spoilers for The Mandalorian “Chapter 19: The Convert.”]
The Mandalorian star Katee Sackhoff has pulled off the impossible.
Sackhoff knows full well how rare it is for a voice role to become a live-action role, but she made the leap as of Mandalorian season two, having already voiced Mandalorian warrior Bo-Katan Kryze periodically on Star Wars animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels since 2012. Of course, the Oregon native is also self-aware enough to know that her existing body of live-action work on beloved series like Battlestar Galactica and Longmire made the jump more viable.
“I take into consideration that I, for the bulk of my career, have not been out making period rom-coms. To a certain extent, I have played characters that are very similar to Bo-Katan, so I do understand how the transition was easier to imagine,” Sackhoff tells The Hollywood Reporter.

This post contains spoilers for the latest episode of "The Mandalorian."
Talk about a change of pace. After easing viewers back into the flow of things during its first two episodes of the new season, episode 3 of "The Mandalorian" season 3 begins innocently enough with an extended aerial battle between Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin and Katee Sackhoff's Bo-Katan and a fleet of Tie Interceptors. But then it does something altogether unlike "The Mandalorian" as we've come to know it over the years. We suddenly shift gears completely and proceed to spend the bulk of the hour without any of our usual heroes. In fact, we follow one of the earliest antagonists established in the series: the sinister Dr. Penn Pershing (Omid Abtahi), one of the main architects behind Moff Gideon's (Giancarlo Esposito) attempts to kidnap and experiment on little Grogu.
If such a dramatic change in perspective and setting wasn't jarring enough,...

Episode 3 of The Mandalorian’s third season breaks free of the story styling that has been established across three seasons, shifting the focus away from Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal/Brendan Wayne/Lateef Crowder) in unexpected ways. With the aptly titled episode, “The Convert,” the series brings new blood to not only the director’s chair but the writer’s room too, and this shift is felt across the board. Noah Kloor joins Jon Favreau to pen this episode, which features a compelling story that is filled with open, honest—and sometimes deceitful—communication, which is something that has been lacking in previous seasons. Paired with the award-winning direction of Lee Isaac Chung and a much longer runtime, Episode 3 is a refreshing deviation from DIn’s search for redemption.

This Star Wars article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
The wait has felt like an eternity, but The Mandalorian is finally back for its highly anticipated third season. After a three-year hiatus, bounty hunter Din Djarin and his little Yoda pal Grogu return to our TV screens for a whole new adventure that will see them explore new corners of the galaxy as well as visit a few old friends. The season picks up where The Book of Boba Fett left off and kicks off a (reportedly) year’s worth of storytelling in the “Mandoverse,” which will soon also include the spinoffs Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew.
Since three years is a long time between new seasons of a lore-heavy show like The Mandalorian, you may have quite a few questions heading into season 3. But we’ve got you covered with everything you need to...

"Being a Mandalorian's not just learning about how to fight, you also have to know how to navigate the galaxy. That way you'll never be lost." Disney has revealed the first trailer for Season 3 of the hit show The Mandalorian, finally returning to the screen after nearly three years. The last season of Mando aired back in late 2020, and so much has happened since then! There's been a number of other Star Wars series to fill the gap (watch Andor if you haven't seen it yet) along with many more changes around the world. Creator Jon Favreau wrote all eight episodes of this new season, working with Noah Kloor on the third and Dave Filoni on the fourth and seventh episodes. "The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together." Starring Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris,...

Ahead of the first trailer's premiere, the first The Mandalorian season 3 poster has arrived reuniting Grogu with Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin. The Disney+ Star Wars series centers on Pascal's titular character as he finds his time as a lawless bounty hunter upended when a job puts him on the path with Grogu, the Force-sensitive infantile member of Yoda's race who is being hunted by the Galactic Empire, namely Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon. First premiering in late 2019, The Mandalorian has scored rave reviews from critics and audiences alike and helped launch a whole universe of projects for Disney+, including the direct spin-offs The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka.
With just over a month left until the show's return, the official Star Wars Twitter account has shared the first The Mandalorian season 3 poster.

Disney+’s season one finale of Lucasfilm’s The Book of Boba Fett clocked 1.5M U.S. households according to Samba TV from the show’s Wednesday to Sunday run.
That’s 36% higher than the 5-day finale draw of The Mandalorian‘s season 2 which streamed from Dec. 18-22, 2020 and pulled in 1.1M U.S. households per Samba TV metrics. The season one finale of The Book of Boba Fett, “In the Name of Honor,” was directed by Robert Rodriguez and written by Jon Favreau and Noah Kloor.
Some might argue that the viewership uptick here boils down to an increase in Disney+ subscribers, which were +11.8M to 129.8M worldwide at the end of their recent Q1. However, the streamer for the first time ever reported its U.S. and Canadian portion, that being 42.9M subs.
