Disney has unveiled a new trailer for the second and final season of the highly anticipated ‘Star Wars’ series ‘Andor.’

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor with the trailer teasing the blossoming rebellion against the tyranny of the Empire.

Also returning for season 2 are Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma along with Denise Gough, Stellan Skarsgård, Kyle Soller, and Adria Arjona. Alan Tudyk returns reprising his role as the voice of K2-so, and Ben Mendelsohn, who returns as Imperial Director Krennic.

The new season will cover the four years of events between the first season’s end and the start of the ‘Rogue One’ film.

Three episodes will cover four ‘chapters’, each covering events within one of those years.

Grown-up Star Wars is almost back! Here’s the trailer for Star Wars: Andor season 2, ahead of its return to out screens next month.

Andor's first season is one of the most impressive Star Wars shows we’ve enjoyed on Disney+, and has certainly raised the bar for the Lucasverse on the small screen. Disney and Lucasfilm always planned Andor to be made up of two seasons, and since the first batch of episodes concluded in November 2022, fans have been patiently waiting for the return of Diego Luna’s perfectly formed frown (as you can see in the trailer thumbnail below).

Now we have a full new trailer for the show, which will return to our screens on Disney+ on 22nd April in the US. The UK will get it on 23rd April, thanks to time differences.

On Monday, Disney released the new trailer for Andor Season 2, one month before the Emmy Award-nominated drama is set to return.

According to Disney, the 12-episode season is divided into four three-episode chapters. The first chapter premieres on April 22, and new chapters of three episodes are released weekly until the finale.

“Andor” creator Tony Gilroy recently told Collider that he will not be making any of the scripts for the “Star Wars” series public out of fear they will be used to train artificial intelligence systems. Gilroy had been planning to release the scripts for the show’s first season in a book format that fans could purchase, similar to shows such as HBO’s “Succession.” However, the rise of AI effectively killed that plan.

“I wanted to do it,” Gilroy said about releasing the scripts. “We put it together. It’s really cool. I’ve seen it, I loved it. AI is the reason we’re not. In the end, it would be 1,500 pages that came directly off this desk. I mean, terribly sadly, it’s just too much of an X-ray and too easily absorbed. Why help the fucking robots anymore than you can? So, it was an ego thing.

Hollywood icon John Lithgow opens up about how he landed the role of Star Wars' Yoda more than forty years ago.

Speaking to Collider, Lithgow laid out the story of how he ended up portraying the voice of Yoda for 1983's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back radio drama. Lithgow recalled being directed on Broadway in by John Madden, who was also directing the second entry in the Star Wars radio drama. “If season one laid the track, then season two is the juggernaut,” says Genevieve O’Reilly, who plays Mon Mothma, highlighting the impressive scale of the production.

Diego Luna leads the cast as Cassian Andor. Season two also stars Stellan Skarsgård, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Elizabeth Dulau, Alan Tudyk, Ben Mendelsohn, and Forest Whitaker.

Following the recent first trailer, Disney+ has shared a "Special Look" at the second season of Andor, and the promo includes quite a bit of new footage.

In addition to behind-the-scenes interviews with members of the cast and creator/writer Tony Gilroy, the video strongly hints that an incident that occurred during the events of Star Wars Rebels will be depicted.

The Ghorman Massacre took place in 2 Bby, and saw Imperial Stormtroopers slaughter peaceful protesters on the planet Ghorman. Senator Mon Mothma publicly blamed Emperor Palpatine for the attacks, which resulted in the Empire attempting to apprehend her.

Though it's too early to tell for sure, it seems this tragic event might be the catalyst for thousands throughout the galaxy rising up against the Empire and joining the Rebellion.

The folks behind AndorSeason 2 must have been feeling a little rebellious, as a special-look featurette has quietly released on Disney+, offering a sneak peek of what's to come in the next chapter. Fans of the galaxy far, far away have plenty to be excited about, as the behind-the-scenes glimpse of the upcoming season teases plenty of action and adventure, familiar worlds, and a major event from the Star Wars Expanded Universe.

As reported by Star Wars News Net, the video, which has already made its way online via X/Twitter (as seen below), packs a lot into its less than three-minute runtime. One clip that is sure to raise a few eyebrows is that of a crowd of protestors, who, according to closed captioning, are "singing in Ghor." This brief tease seems to suggest that Andor Season 2 will cover the events of the infamous Ghorman Massacre.

Disney has released the first trailer for the second and final season of the highly anticipated ‘Star Wars’ series ‘Andor.’

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor with the trailer teasing the blossoming rebellion against the tyranny of the Empire.

Also returning for season 2 are Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma along with Denise Gough, Stellan Skarsgård, Kyle Soller, and Adria Arjona. Alan Tudyk returns reprising his role as the voice of K2-so, and Ben Mendelsohn, who returns as Imperial Director Krennic.

The release date of ‘Andor’ season 2 has been confirmed with some unprecedented Star Wars live-action. While Andor season 1 debuted three episodes on its premiere, dropping the rest of the episodes weekly, ‘Andor‘ season 2 might follow the same pattern. Like season 1, Andor’s season 2 will have 12 episodes. It will feature four chapters, each consisting of three episodes.

Diego Luna’s rebellion intensifies in the trailer for Season 2 of “Andor.”

The “Star Wars” series, which chronicles the events leading up to the 2016 feature film “Rogue One,” will stream on Disney+ beginning April 22.

The first season of the show — created and executive produced by “Rogue One” co-writer Tony Gilroy — takes place over the course of roughly a year in the life of Cassian Andor (Luna), as he transforms from a small-time criminal to a man prepared to join the fight against the Galactic Empire as the vestiges of the Rebel Alliance begin to form.

The trailer also introduces series newcomers Ben Mendelsohn and Alan Tudyk, each reprising their roles from “Rogue One” — respectively, the nefarious Imperial officer Orson Krennic and the acerbic reprogrammed Imperial droid K-2So.
