Ever since Andor began, creator Tony Gilroy has been absolutely crystal clear about where his Star Wars prequel series is heading: Diego Luna's Cassian Andor is on a fixed path to the Rings of Kafrene, where he will shoot Daniel Mays' informant Tivik and thus set in motion the events of Rogue One. In fact, we've even known for some time now that Andor's last three episodes will cover the three days leading into Gareth Edwards' 2016 film — Gilroy himself told us. And yet — and yet! — the tension in the newly dropped final trailer for Andor Season 2, as the still-fledgling Rebellion prepares to face the full force of the fascistic Empire, remains not only palpable, but possibly higher than we've ever seen before on screen in that galaxy far, far away. Check it out below and you'll see what we mean;

Grown-up Star Wars is almost back! Here’s the trailer for Star Wars: Andor season 2, ahead of its return to out screens next month.
Andor's first season is one of the most impressive Star Wars shows we’ve enjoyed on Disney+, and has certainly raised the bar for the Lucasverse on the small screen. Disney and Lucasfilm always planned Andor to be made up of two seasons, and since the first batch of episodes concluded in November 2022, fans have been patiently waiting for the return of Diego Luna’s perfectly formed frown (as you can see in the trailer thumbnail below).
Now we have a full new trailer for the show, which will return to our screens on Disney+ on 22nd April in the US. The UK will get it on 23rd April, thanks to time differences.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a 2016 film and the first spin-off in the Star Wars franchise. Unlike previous films, it moves away from the episodic structure and adopts a war-movie-style narrative with a darker and more grounded tone. The film connects the prequel trilogy with Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) and the original trilogy while introducing new characters whose sacrifices significantly impact the galaxy’s future.

Disney+ and Lucasfilm have shared a new trailer and poster for Andor season 2 (via SFFGazette.com) ahead of the show's long-awaited return on April 22.
This sneak peek sets the stage for the war between the Rebels and the Empire to be taken to the next level leading into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
We see plenty of Ben Mendelsohn's villainous Director Orson Krennic as he continues to work on the Death Star and several other familiar faces...including a whole platoon of Kx-series security droids, at least of which must be K-2So.
Season 1 was a critical hit and excitement for this second batch of episodes (which had been on track to premiere last summer before 2023's Hollywood strikes) is through the roof.

“Andor” creator Tony Gilroy recently told Collider that he will not be making any of the scripts for the “Star Wars” series public out of fear they will be used to train artificial intelligence systems. Gilroy had been planning to release the scripts for the show’s first season in a book format that fans could purchase, similar to shows such as HBO’s “Succession.” However, the rise of AI effectively killed that plan.
“I wanted to do it,” Gilroy said about releasing the scripts. “We put it together. It’s really cool. I’ve seen it, I loved it. AI is the reason we’re not. In the end, it would be 1,500 pages that came directly off this desk. I mean, terribly sadly, it’s just too much of an X-ray and too easily absorbed. Why help the fucking robots anymore than you can? So, it was an ego thing.

Hollywood icon John Lithgow opens up about how he landed the role of Star Wars' Yoda more than forty years ago.
Speaking to Collider, Lithgow laid out the story of how he ended up portraying the voice of Yoda for 1983's Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back radio drama. Lithgow recalled being directed on Broadway in by John Madden, who was also directing the second entry in the Star Wars radio drama. Disney+ released a new "Special Look" for Andor Season 2. The preview offers a more authentic glimpse into the upcoming Star Wars series than the initial trailer, which featured Steve Earle's "The Revolution Starts Now" – a thematically relevant but tonally mismatched protest song.
The second season premieres April 22 on Disney+, continuing the prequel story to Rogue One through four self-contained adventures, each episode spanning a year.
Andor Season 2 Preview Showcases Galaxy-Wide Rebellion Is The Ghorman Massacre Due For Live-Action Depiction?
Tensions are rising in the Andor Season 2 sneak peek, befitting the upcoming episodes acting as the final stop on the road to Rogue One. The new footage spotlights the escalating conflict between the Empire and disparate resistance forces. The separate, uncoordinated resurgence paints a picture of burgeoning opposition that will inevitably evolve into the Rebellion, and the preview's closed captioning may have revealed what event will force the retaliatory cells to combine.

Andor Season 2 is only a few months away, so marketing has kicked into gear for the highly anticipated continuation. The series' first season, which premiered in 2022, was created by Tony Gilroy and recounts the life of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) leading up to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The 12-episode first season would set a new standard for episodic storytelling in the Star Wars universe, posing complex and morally ambiguous questions about the origins of the rebellion and making the galaxy far, far, away feel more lived-in than ever before. Now, an extended look at Andor Season 2 seems to suggest the level of quality in storytelling hasn't changed at all.
The video, which can be viewed below, is a featurette showcasing exciting new scenes from the show. It also features the cast and creators, who discuss the effort that went into making the second (and final) season of Andor.

Gilroy adds, “These 12 episodes are gonna take us over the next four years into Rogue One. The complexity of the show, the possibilities of the show – it has to be all in.”

Diego Luna leads the cast as Cassian Andor. Season two also stars Stellan Skarsgård, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Elizabeth Dulau, Alan Tudyk, Ben Mendelsohn, and Forest Whitaker.

The road to rebellion begins on April 22.
Following the recent first trailer, Disney+ has shared a "Special Look" at the second season of Andor, and the promo includes quite a bit of new footage.
In addition to behind-the-scenes interviews with members of the cast and creator/writer Tony Gilroy, the video strongly hints that an incident that occurred during the events of Star Wars Rebels will be depicted.
Possible spoilers ahead.
The Ghorman Massacre took place in 2 Bby, and saw Imperial Stormtroopers slaughter peaceful protesters on the planet Ghorman. Senator Mon Mothma publicly blamed Emperor Palpatine for the attacks, which resulted in the Empire attempting to apprehend her.
Though it's too early to tell for sure, it seems this tragic event might be the catalyst for thousands throughout the galaxy rising up against the Empire and joining the Rebellion.

The first trailer for Andor season 2 promises the revolution is upon us in the Star Wars series!
Star Wars fans can be divisive, and many agreements and disagreements can be big. They can debate the merits of the movies, the sequels, and the franchise's direction.
But one thing almost all Star Wars fans can agree on? That Andor is easily the best part of the franchise since Disney purchased it in 2012. The series is a prologue to 2016's Rogue One, with Diego Luna reprising his role as Cassian Andor, who grows from a refugee to a member of the Rebel Alliance.
The show packs in the usual Star Wars action and themes. But what draws viewers in is the incredibly in-depth writing, character work, and political drama. It's watching the Rebellion slowly grow with Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly), secretly working to get funds to start the Rebellion with Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgard).

"Star Wars" fans, your long wait is finally over. The franchise set in a galaxy far, far away has been playing unusually coy about releasing footage from the second season of "Andor," by far the most critically acclaimed series that Lucasfilm has yet released. The first season instantly stood out upon release in late 2022 as a rare production that actually felt like proof of a property that was finally forced to grow up a bit. Its unusual origins as a prequel/spinoff series to the prequel movie "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" only makes its success all the more impressive. The impending release of season 2 has felt like a welcome sign that "Star Wars" isn't quite done just yet, regardless of how long it continues to be since we last saw a movie hit the big screen.
Now, everyone rabidly looking forward to even the tiniest scrap of footage...

Diego Luna’s rebellion intensifies in the trailer for Season 2 of “Andor.”
The “Star Wars” series, which chronicles the events leading up to the 2016 feature film “Rogue One,” will stream on Disney+ beginning April 22.
The first season of the show — created and executive produced by “Rogue One” co-writer Tony Gilroy — takes place over the course of roughly a year in the life of Cassian Andor (Luna), as he transforms from a small-time criminal to a man prepared to join the fight against the Galactic Empire as the vestiges of the Rebel Alliance begin to form.
The trailer also introduces series newcomers Ben Mendelsohn and Alan Tudyk, each reprising their roles from “Rogue One” — respectively, the nefarious Imperial officer Orson Krennic and the acerbic reprogrammed Imperial droid K-2So. Along with Luna, the returning cast includes Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu and Forest Whitaker.
