At the end of September, JoBlo Media and Octane Multimedia teamed up to launch a new YouTube channel named JoBlo TV, which hosts multiple feature films to watch for free throughout the week. The genres we’ll be focusing on at JoBlo TV are Action, Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Thrillers – and the free movies we shared this week covered action, sci-fi, and thriller territory, with some mystery and comedy thrown into the mix as well.
This week’s line-up consisted of the sci-fi action movie Assassin’s Game, the comedic mystery thriller All in the Family, and the sci-fi action movie Robot Riot. Here’s some information on each of them:
Directed by Keith Collins II, who also wrote the screenplay with Porche Robinson, Assassin’s Game has the following synopsis: A group of assassin known as the Shadows are placed in a “Battle Royale” against each other in a fight to the death.

A never-before-heard interview with John Belushi from 1979 offers some new insight into how the late, great Saturday Night Live star and comedy icon felt about criticisms that were leveled at the musical comedy The Blues Brothers at the time. Coming as part of the Audible audio documentary Blues Brothers: The Arc of Gratitude, and via EW, the interview was conducted by music critic Steve Bloom three years before Belushis death and finds the actor addressing the disapproval over the movie capitalizing on a genre so closely tied with African-American culture and Black artists.
In his response, Belushi largely rejects such criticisms, reasoning that the people watching me understand why I do it, and the band members do.
Its just weird, you know? Why would I do these things? The people watching me understand why I do it, and the band members do. The other people theres a certain amount of jealousy,...

Exclusive: The majority of the managers working at LA rep firm The Green Room have abruptly exited to launch management and production outfit Untamed Artists LA.
The move was made in the last few weeks and follows what the group described to us as “irreconcilable differences” with Green Room founder Alex Czuleger, who as of last week was understood to be the only manager left at the firm.
Czuleger, who set up The Green Room in 2014, declined to comment on the reason for the departures but noted that the Green Room would continue to operate as a management company and that replacements for the departing staff would be joining shortly. There is discrepancy between the two parties as to whether all agents left of their own accord.

"I thought I made it clear: nobody steals from me and gets to live!" Roadside Attractions + Lionsgate have revealed an official trailer for an action thriller titled Bring Him To Me, an Australian production made by the Australian filmmaker Luke Sparke of Sparke Films. Set for release in the US later this month to watch on VOD at home. "When is it too late to turn back?" is the tagline. Under orders from a ruthless crime boss, a getaway driver must battle his conscience and drive an unsuspecting young crew member to an ambush. But there is a long drive ahead for them both... Bring Him To Me stars Barry Pepper, Rachel Griffiths, Jamie Costa, Sam Neill, with Liam McIntyre and Zac Garred. This has a very nice gritty look and feel, at least it isn't half bad, despite being such an eclectic mix of ideas and actors all packed into one crime film.

Updated, 2:11 p.m.: Less than 12 hours after news broke that Pauly Shore would portray fitness guru Richard Simmons in a biopic in development at The Wolper Organization, Simmons has surfaced on Facebook to distance himself from the project.
“Hi Everybody! You may have heard they may be doing a movie about me with Pauly Shore. I have never given my permission for this movie. Shore came to star in the forthcoming feature on Simmons’ life after campaigning for such a project to be made, when memes went viral online noting that if any actor should be cast in a Simmons biopic given physical resemblance alone, it should be him.

First, Shore will be seen in “The Court Jester,” a short film directed and written by Jake Lewis that premieres January 19 at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. A teaser trailer with Simmons (Shore) sharing words of wisdom to an overweight production assistant hit YouTube on Wednesday; the full short film will be made available on the same platform following its Sundance premiere.

And now, Shore will star as Simmons in a feature-length biopic currently in development at The Wolper Organization, a subsidiary of Warner Bros.; the two projects are unrelated. Additional casting is underway for that film, which was also announced this morning.

One of the greatest losses of the past decade – perhaps in most of our lifetimes – was that of Robin Williams, who tragically died in 2014. Now, his daughter Zelda is lashing out against companies trying to use not just her father’s likeness, but that of any human being in the industry.
In a series of Instagram stories (via Deadline), Zelda Williams said recreating her father through the use of artificial intelligence was beyond bad taste. “I am not an impartial voice in SAG’s fight against AI…I’ve witnessed for Years how many people want to train these models to create/recreate actors who cannot consent, like Dad. This isn’t theoretical, it is very very real.” She added, “I’ve already heard AI used to get his ‘voice’ to say whatever people want and while I find it personally disturbing, the ramifications go far beyond my own feelings.

Eat your heart out, Austin Butler. As wild as Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis" biopic got at certain points, it's safe to say it never quite managed to top the zaniness on display in "Agent Elvis," Netflix's new animated series that sees the King of Rock and Roll suit up to use his world-famous talents in a slightly different way. We've been following this oddity of a concept for quite some time now, with our first look at the adult-oriented and violent show last year promising the sort of alternate history mayhem that only animation can truly do justice to. Like a cross between "Archer," Hulu's "Hit-Monkey," and other similarly out-there premises, "Agent Elvis" promises to pack quite the punch.

A short film from the team that brought us the viral video starring Jamie Costa in a spot-on impersonation of Robin Williams has a new short out dramatizing a scene between Jack Nicholson and John Belushi during the making of the 1978 western Goin’ South.
The short–The Cowboy and the Samurai, in reference to Nicholson’s character in Goin’ South and Belushi’s famous samurai character on Saturday Night Live–is “based on a true story…kind of.” As per the official synopsis: “In 1978, world renowned movie star, Jack Nicholson, made his feature directorial debut, a western called Goin’ South. Against the advice of his producers, he cast up and coming comedian, John Belushi.” Costa plays Nicholson, while Sandy Danto plays Belushi.
The 12-minute short finds Belushi holed up on the set, with Nicholson taking on the task of wrangling him. Entering the room, Nicholson finds Belushi wielding a knife,...

"Have you ever actually seen a carnie playing the accordion for a dancing monkey?" Has anyone...? The Cowboy & The Samurai is a funny sort-of-true-story short film from The Lewis Brothers - now available online to watch in full. Here's the setup for this: in 1978, world renowned movie star, Jack Nicholson, made his feature directorial debut, a western called Goin' South. Against the advice of his producers, he cast up and coming comedian, John Belushi. Both John and Jack are known as Hollywood's biggest bad boys and both are about to meet their match. The Cowboy and The Samurai is a fictional feature inspired by the true story of the making of the film. In this short, Jamie Costa plays Nicholson (though he still looks exactly like Robin Williams) and Sandy Danto plays Belushi. We featured a trailer for this last year, so it's good to follow up with the finished film.

The Lewis Brothers, filmmakers behind digital comedy shorts and a 2021 viral sensation about the late Robin Williams, are heading back to vintage Hollywood for their next project.
Jake and Sam Lewis will release “The Cowboy & The Samurai,” a proof-of-concept about the tumultuous relationship between show business bad boys Jack Nicholson and John Belushi. Variety has an exclusive first clip from the project above.
Based on a “kind of” true story, the film is set in 1978 as the famous men meet their match when “Nicholson casts Belushi for his feature directorial debut, a Western called ‘Goin South,’ against the advice of his producers,” a synopsis read. Jamie Costa, of the forthcoming indie “Bring Him to Me,” plays Nicholson opposite Sandy Danton’s Belushi.
“We remained truthful to the overall vibe of who these icons are but it’s more of a fantasy. It really has one foot off the ground,” Jake Lewis said.

Barry Pepper takes the lead in feature film “Bring Him to Me,” which is now shooting in Queensland, Australia, under director Luke Sparke (“Occupation Rainfall”). The picture is a mob thriller written by Tom Evans and which also stars Sam Neill and Rachel Griffiths.
Under orders from a ruthless crime boss, a getaway driver must battle his conscience and drive a young and unsuspecting passenger to an uncertain fate. Evans’ script was inspired by the traumatic scene in Martin Scorsese’s “Casino” in which Nicky Santoro (portrayed by Joe Pesci) unwittingly turns up for a meeting in a cornfield and things go South.
“I’ve been fascinated by morally gray stories like ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Drive,’ so when presented with the chance to dive deep into the underworld, I couldn’t resist bringing my own flavor to the genre, toeing the lines of film noir and graphic novels,” said Sparke.

"Two Hollywood hellrasiers, stuck in a house… then what happens?" Only one way to find! What do we have here…? A 30-second official trailer has popped up for a film titled The Cowboy and The Samurai, made by the YouTube channel The Lewis Brothers. Is it just a short film or did they make an entire feature? The Lewis Brothers are usually a comedy group making funny videos, but this looks like a full-on dramatic feature. The Cowboy and The Samurai is a fictional feature inspired by the true story of the making of a 1978 comedy titled Goin' South, a western directed by and starring Jack Nicholson. Apparently against his producers wishes he cast John Belushi in a co-starring role and, as the voiceover indicates, two Hollywood bad boys got into all kinds of trouble. Jamie Costa plays Nicholson (though he looks exactly like Robin Williams) and Sandy Danto plays Belushi.

Yes, Zelda Williams has seen that video and she doesn't need to see it again. Robin Williams' only daughter took to Twitter on Oct. 12 with a candid message for her followers and fans: "Guys, I'm only saying this because I don't think it'll stop until I acknowledge it… please, stop sending me the 'test footage'. I've seen it." The "test footage" she was referring to is a clip going viral of Jamie Costa performing as her late father. In the video, titled "Robin Test Footage Scene," Costa and co-star Sarah Murphree, who plays Robin's York & Mindy co-star Pam Dawber, act out a scene in which the actress reveals to the comedian...

It’s been seven years since beloved comedian and actor Robin Williams passed away, but a newly released film clip makes it feel like he’s come back to life. The five-minute short appears to have been self-released by actor Jamie Costa, who not only amazes with his uncanny impression but also a moving performance as the young Williams. The scene features Costa as Williams opposite actress Sarah Murphree as Pam Dawber on the set of “Mork & Mindy.” It shows Robin running lines energetically in the dressing room mirror when Pam interrupts him to deliver the news of John Belushi’s death.
Costa’s impersonation is almost unnervingly precise. Just as Williams himself could impersonate any number of public figures and voices, Costa seems amazingly in control of his instrument. His vocal inflection and intonation are seemingly perfect, and he even captured Williams’ unique way of descending quickly into a low,...

While we wait to see how director Phil Lord and Chris Miller's Han Solo standalone film turns out, we have a fun and charming Star Wars fan film that centers on the character for you to watch! It's called "Han Solo: A Smuggler's Trade," and it focuses on one of Han's early adventures as he embarks on an adventure to rescue his friend Chewbacca. It feels like a perfect mix of Star Wars and Indiana Jones.
The Universe's favorite intergalactic smuggler sets out on an epic quest to rescue an old friend. He uses his mechanical skills, cunning wit, and his creative interpretation of the rules to fight, flirt, bribe, and barter his way to victory. But will it be enough? Before there was A New Hope, there was Han Solo -- just an outlaw trying to survive in a galaxy more corrupt than he is... and far less forgiving.

Steve Carell has officially completed his transformation from comedic actor to a dramatic one. No one is left doubting his talents as a versatile performer. Thus, whatever he does next is highly anticipated, and this latest project might just be the perfect fit for him to show both sides of his acting range.
The Wrap is reporting that Carell is now set to star in Marwencol, a movie based on a 2010 documentary planned over two years ago by Robert Zemeckis. Carell will presumably portray Mark Hogancamp, who as seen in the documentary is a man who was beaten brutally by teenagers to the point that he suffered brain damage and amnesia. He now spends his time creating miniature figurines of a scale, World War II era town. Here’s the full synopsis for the documentary:
