At the end of September, JoBlo Media and Octane Multimedia teamed up to launch a new YouTube channel named JoBlo TV, which hosts multiple feature films to watch for free throughout the week. The genres we’ll be focusing on at JoBlo TV are Action, Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Thrillers – and the free movies we shared this week covered action, sci-fi, and thriller territory, with some mystery and comedy thrown into the mix as well.

This week’s line-up consisted of the sci-fi action movie Assassin’s Game, the comedic mystery thriller All in the Family, and the sci-fi action movie Robot Riot. Here’s some information on each of them:

Directed by Keith Collins II, who also wrote the screenplay with Porche Robinson, Assassin’s Game has the following synopsis: A group of assassin known as the Shadows are placed in a “Battle Royale” against each other in a fight to the death.

It’s the final Friday the 13th of 2024, so you might be expecting a bunch of new horror movies and shows at your fingertips this weekend. The good news? You’d be correct about that.

Clay Epstein’s Film Mode Entertainment has announced territory sales led by the UK on Sparke Films’ one-take horror Scurry ahead of an AFM market screening.

Jamie Costa from crime thriller Bring Him To Me and Emalia from the Paramount+ show Paper Dolls star in the feature, which shot in Queensland, Australia, at Sparke Films’ facilities on the Gold Coast, in real-time using only one take.

Independent film “The Activated Man” is set to have its worldwide theatrical premiere starting December 13th. The film explores themes of grief and spirituality through the lens of supernatural thriller. Starring Jamie Costa as a man grappling with the loss of his dog, “The Activated Man” follows his character as he experiences unsettling visions and a blurred line between reality and the paranormal.

Directed by Nicholas Gyeney and produced through his company Mirror Images Ltd, “The Activated Man” has already received critical acclaim on the film festival circuit. It has won around 30 awards total, including top honors for horror/thriller at the Glendale International Film Festival and HorrOrigins Film Festival in Tucson. New York-based distributor Stonecutter Media acquired North American distribution rights based on this festival success.

In addition to its theatrical run starting December 13th, the film will also be available to rent or buy on cable and digital platforms.

Exclusive: The majority of the managers working at LA rep firm The Green Room have abruptly exited to launch management and production outfit Untamed Artists LA.

The move was made in the last few weeks and follows what the group described to us as “irreconcilable differences” with Green Room founder Alex Czuleger, who as of last week was understood to be the only manager left at the firm.

Czuleger, who set up The Green Room in 2014, declined to comment on the reason for the departures but noted that the Green Room would continue to operate as a management company and that replacements for the departing staff would be joining shortly. There is discrepancy between the two parties as to whether all agents left of their own accord.

"I thought I made it clear: nobody steals from me and gets to live!" Roadside Attractions + Lionsgate have revealed an official trailer for an action thriller titled Bring Him To Me, an Australian production made by the Australian filmmaker Luke Sparke of Sparke Films. Set for release in the US later this month to watch on VOD at home. "When is it too late to turn back?" is the tagline. Under orders from a ruthless crime boss, a getaway driver must battle his conscience and drive an unsuspecting young crew member to an ambush. But there is a long drive ahead for them both... Bring Him To Me stars Barry Pepper, Rachel Griffiths, Jamie Costa, Sam Neill, with Liam McIntyre and Zac Garred. This has a very nice gritty look and feel, at least it isn't half bad, despite being such an eclectic mix of ideas and actors all packed into one crime film.

Update: It doesn’t seem as though Richard Simmons is a fan of Pauly Shore playing him in The Court Jester. The reclusive fitness guru surfaced on Facebook to disavow the movie. “Hi Everybody! Comedian Pauly Shore is ready to show the world a different side of himself. As his fans on social media and YouTube have pointed out to him, he bears a resemblance to fitness guru Richard Simmons. Simmons himself resides with Pauly in a certain sect of pop culture in the 90s...

Updated, 2:11 p.m.: Less than 12 hours after news broke that Pauly Shore would portray fitness guru Richard Simmons in a biopic in development at The Wolper Organization, Simmons has surfaced on Facebook to distance himself from the project.

“Hi Everybody! You may have heard they may be doing a movie about me with Pauly Shore. I have never given my permission for this movie. So don’t believe everything you read,” Simmons wrote. “I no longer have a manager, and I no longer have a publicist. I just try to live a quiet life and be peaceful. Thank you for all your love and support.”

Shore came to star in the forthcoming feature on Simmons’ life after campaigning for such a project to be made, when memes went viral online noting that if any actor should be cast in a Simmons biopic given physical resemblance alone, it should be him.

Pauly Shore is absolutely committed to the idea that he is 1980s fitness icon Richard Simmons — the “Son in Law” star is portraying Simmons in two separate projects.

First, Shore will be seen in “The Court Jester,” a short film directed and written by Jake Lewis that premieres January 19 at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. A teaser trailer with Simmons (Shore) sharing words of wisdom to an overweight production assistant hit YouTube on Wednesday; the full short film will be made available on the same platform following its Sundance premiere.

And now, Shore will star as Simmons in a feature-length biopic currently in development at The Wolper Organization, a subsidiary of Warner Bros.; the two projects are unrelated. Additional casting is underway for that film, which was also announced this morning.

Shore has been set on the idea of portraying Simmons for a long time now.

Richard Simmons is getting a biopic with Pauly Shore playing the beloved fitness expert.

Per Deadline, it's been reported that a movie starring Shore as Simmons is officially in the works at The Wolper Organization, a Warner Bros. subsidiary. The project is in its early stages, so not much else is yet known about the project, such as a director or additional cast members. Umbrella Entertainment has acquired the rights to Scurry for Australia and New Zealand, with Film Mode Entertainment handling the worldwide sales rights on the upcoming film.

Jeremy Piven, who won three Primetime Emmy awards for his performance on the HBO series Entourage, and Jamie Costa, best known for his impression of Robin Williams in the 2021 viral video Robin, have signed on to star in the supernatural action movie Fight for Your Life, which Luke Sparke (Occupation: Rainfall) will be directing from a screenplay he wrote with Tom Evans.

Piven will be taking on the role of a soldier who wakes up in a mysterious cell and is forced to face an onslaught of deadly opponents in an ever-changing fight arena – his only goal being to survive long enough to return to his daughter.

The Cowboy & The Samurai is a funny sort-of-true-story short film from The Lewis Brothers - now available online to watch in full. Here's the setup for this: in 1978, world renowned movie star, Jack Nicholson, made his feature directorial debut, a western called Goin' South. Against the advice of his producers, he cast up and coming comedian, John Belushi. Both John and Jack are known as Hollywood's biggest bad boys and both are about to meet their match. The Cowboy and The Samurai is a fictional feature inspired by the true story of the making of the film. In this short, Jamie Costa plays Nicholson (though he still looks exactly like Robin Williams) and Sandy Danto plays Belushi. We featured a trailer for this last year, so it's good to follow up with the finished film.

It’s been seven years since beloved comedian and actor Robin Williams passed away, but a newly released film clip makes it feel like he’s come back to life. The five-minute short appears to have been self-released by actor Jamie Costa, who not only amazes with his uncanny impression but also a moving performance as the young Williams. The scene features Costa as Williams opposite actress Sarah Murphree as Pam Dawber on the set of “Mork & Mindy.” It shows Robin running lines energetically in the dressing room mirror when Pam interrupts him to deliver the news of John Belushi’s death.

Costa’s impersonation is almost unnervingly precise. Just as Williams himself could impersonate any number of public figures and voices, Costa seems amazingly in control of his instrument. His vocal inflection and intonation are seemingly perfect, and he even captured Williams’ unique way of descending quickly into a low,...

Kenobi is a beautifully realized 18-minute short about Ben Kenobi living on Tatooine. Similar to the upcoming series, the film is about Ben protecting Luke when he's young, living in the desert watching over him from afar. Jamie Costa stars as Kenobi, with a cast including Tommy Snider as Owen Lars, Maxine Phoenix as Beru, Audie Rick as Luke, and James Arnold Taylor as Captain Leegus. The Wrap is reporting that Carell is now set to star in Marwencol, a movie based on a 2010 documentary planned over two years ago by Robert Zemeckis. Carell will presumably portray Mark Hogancamp, who as seen in the documentary is a man who was beaten brutally by teenagers to the point that he suffered brain damage and amnesia. A life-long fan of Robin Williams has scored a viral hit with his impersonations of the late actor.

Jamie Costa - a young actor with a resemblance to Williams - has passed 2 million hits in just four days on YouTube.

In the video, he channels Williams's performances in films like Flubber, Mrs Doubtfire and Good Morning, Vietnam.

Costa wrote underneath the video: "My tribute to the man whose spark ignited my passion. Rip Robin Williams."

He also performs a scene from Good Will Hunting, the film which earned Williams an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

Costa isn't just a Williams impressionist, and has posted videos of himself impersonating Indiana Jones, Owen Wilson and Matthew McConaughey.

It recently emerged that Williams made plans to restrict the use of his image after his death.
