The Shadow Strays premieres on Netflix October 17, 2024.

In The Shadow Strays, “Codename 13 (Aurora Ribero), a 17-year-old trained assassin, is under suspension because of a sloppy mission in Japan. The girl built a conscience when she met Monji, an 11-year-old boy who lost his mother to a crime syndicate.

“When Monji is captured, 13 is hell-bent on setting a path of destruction to rescue the boy, including going against her mentor and the organization that hires her, the Shadow.”

Hana Malasan, Taskya Namya, Agra Piliang, Andri Mashadi, Adinia Wirasti, Nobuyuki Suzuki, Tanta Ginting, Ali Fikry, and Kin Wah Chew also star.

Netflix has just announced its complete Fall 2024 lineup, giving us premiere dates for a small handful of horror movies coming to the streaming service this Halloween season.

Netflix previews in an official statement, “Netflix is firing up a new slate of thrilling titles just in time for autumn, and you’re invited to sit down and warm up. So turn on the TV and take a peek at your options — there are plenty of new movies just around the corner this fall.”

Indonesian genre specialist Timo Tjahjanto has begun production on “The Shadow Strays,” a new action film project.

Tjahjanto is one half of a writing-directing pair with Kimo Stamboel that are colloquially known as the Mo Brothers and previously delivered “Headshot.” However, it was as a solo director that Tjahjanto was signed to a multi-film deal with Netflix in 2022. He delivered his first picture under that arrangement later that year. “The Big 4” debuted in Netflix’s non-English language top ten.

Production of the new title is handled by Frontier Pictures with Wicky V. Olindo and Anne P. Ralie named as producers. The completion date has not been revealed.

In the world of enka singer Hiroshi (Sho Aoyagi) most of his life revolves around the various performances he has to give in front of crowds largely consisting of middle-aged women. Bored and visibly appalled by these events, he tries to leave them as soon as possible, but this time Masako (Mariko Tsutsui) stops him on his way out of the last venue he sang in. Eventually Hiroshi finds he has been drugged by Masako and drops unconscious, only to find himself back at her apartment when he wakes up.

Based on the popular Japanese series ‘Tokyo Ghoul‘, written and illustrated by Sui Ishida, a live-action film titled Tokyo Ghoul was released in 2017. Tokyo Ghoul introduced us to a college student, Ken Kaneki. He transformed into half human and half ghoul after organ transplant, leading him to the moral conundrum to act on his ghoul vices. ‘Tokyo Ghoul S’ takes the story further in the sequel that is slated to be released on July 19, 2019.

The trailer features a host of familiar faces, other than the protagonist Kaneki Ken, that includes Shunya Shiraishi as Nishiki Nishio, Hiyori Sakurada as Hinami Fueguchi, Nobuyuki Suzuki as Kotaro Amon. Another highlight is the appearance of Matsuda [served as animation director for One Piece Film: Gold] as Shū Tsukiyama, who desperately wants to eat Kaneki. Maika Yamamoto will be replacing Fumika Shimizu in her role as Tōka Kirishima.

Hungry dead things come back to life in sequel to live action adaptation of anime series Tokyo Ghoul.

The Tokyo Ghoul live-action sequel is coming to life as the film's official Twitter confirmed a July 19 release date and new casting and. Nana Mori will play Yuriko Kosaka, who was played by Seika Furuhata in the 2017 live action adaption. Mai Kiryu joins the cast as Kimi Nishino. Distributor Shochiku has not yet released an official title for the sequel, which is tentatively being called Tokyo Ghoul 2.

Directed by Kentarō Hagiwara, the live-action Tokyo Ghoul film was released in Japan on July 29, 2017. It had its world premiere during Anime Expo 2017, and had a limited theatrical run from Funimation, which licensed the film for a Blu-ray and DVD release. Tokyo Ghoul starred Masataka Kubota as protagonist, Ken Kaneki, the first half-human, half-ghoul hybrid. Fumika Shimizu was the heroine, Tōka Kirishima.
