Queer advocacy group Out In Hollywood has released its fourth annual list of unproduced queer-focused television pilot scripts of the past year.
“Anti-trans, anti-drag, and anti-queer legislation are sadly on the rise, and we believe that by normalizing audiences’ understanding of people different from them, we can help foster greater acceptance and empathy,” founder Logan Kriete said.
The Out Loud List is created based on recommendations from the queer community in Hollywood. Scripts are evaluated based on criteria including the strength of the writer’s voice, viability of the project to be sold in today’s marketplace, conceptual freshness, and a modified version of GLAAD’s Vito-Russo Test (similar to the Bechdel Test).
For the first time, the writers were honored in person at Beyond Pride: The Future of Queer Television event.
Check out Out in Hollywood’s 2024 Out Loud List below, which includes a brief synopsis of each script...

In comparison, Impastor season one averaged a 0.11 in the demo and 456,000 viewers. The show was not without its fans, however. On Rotten Tomatoes, Impastor has an 89% audience approval rating. The conman is back. Above, check out the Impastor TV show poster for the second season on TV Land. Buddy (Michael Rosenbaum) seems to be in a bit of a jam. While he's wearing his clerical collar and has his hands folded in prayer, he's also being locked in the trunk of a car -- probably by an enforcer for that loan shark he's been ducking. The dark comedy is executive produced by creator Christopher Vane and Rosenbaum. Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Rob Greenberg also executive produce. The Impastor cast also includes: Aimee Garcia, Sara Rue, Mircea Monroe, Mike Kosinski, and David Rasche. Impastor‘s Buddy Dobbs isn’t your typical gambling addict-turned-gay minister of a small-town church.
As revealed in the pilot for TV Land’s newest comedy, which premiered Wednesday, Michael Rosenbaum‘s character actually assumes someone else’s identity — the real pastor falls to his death while attempting to talk Buddy off a bridge — and inadvertently becomes the spiritual hero of an upstate New York hamlet. (Also, don’t apologize for feeling weird about seeing the former Smallville star with a full head of hair. You’re not alone.)
