There is one major event we’ve all been looking forward to tonight, Wednesday, Jan. 29. Take a look at everything airing on broadcast TV tonight.
Yes, we’re talking about the One Chicago crossover event. It’s the first real crossover in five years—although characters have turned up in different shows now and then—and this one is going to feel like a three-hour movie. It’s not the only show on TV to look forward to, though.
One Chicago, Hollywood Squares, and more
Let’s start with the crossover event, though. Chicago Fire is going to kick things off. This is usually the case when it comes to these crossover events. We often see the rescue to start, the medical team working on the injured in the middle, and then the police investigation at the end. However, this crossover is going to be more like the last one we got.

Felipe Torres Medina, a writer on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, organized a comedy writers picket outside 30 Rock in New York that saw the cream of the late-night crop turn up to fight for a “fair” deal.
Stars such as John Oliver, Amber Ruffin, Ziwe, Jason Sudeikis and Phoebe Robinson were among those in attendance, as the writer strike is in its 87th day and the actors strike is in its 14th day.
John Oliver, host of HBO’s Last Week Tonight, said, “I like what Chris Keyser said yesterday, ‘This isn’t a war, this is a basic request for some completely understandable contract points’ so I want to see a fair deal as soon as possible. It is absolutely appalling that they are not negotiating right now. The fact that they are not around a table right now is absolutely disgusting.”

“The Wonder Years” set the stage for an awkward “West Wing” reunion ahead of the ABC sitcom’s latest episode Wednesday.
In an exclusive clip shared with TheWrap, Bill Williams (Dulé Hill) and his wife Lillian (Saycon Sengbloh) have a quick conversation about the party they’re attending at the home of his new friend Alan (Bradley Whitford).
After delighting party guests with a Marvin Gaye joke, Bill is interrupted by Lillian after she comes to him with a concerned look on her face and suggesting they should both go home.
“I think this is some kind of sex party,” Lillian tells her husband in the clip. He tries to ease her mind, saying that she should stop reading their daughter Kim’s Cosmopolitan magazine.
“Sex party? My goodness Lillian, just be cool,” he adds, before Alan comes behind and puts his arm around him.
“Hey, you guys want to come down to the basement?...

Jonnie Davis, the president of ABC Signature, has stepped down from his position. After leading the studio since 2019, Davis will be leaving to figure out his “next creative challenge.”
During his time with the production studio, Davis worked on shows such as ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” FX’s “Fleishman Is in Trouble” and Hulu’s “This Fool.” A replacement for Davis will be chosen at a later date.
Eric Schrier, the president of Disney Television Studios and Global Original Television Strategy, told his team on Friday.
“While news like this is never easy, I’m very confident in the leadership team we have in place, and I’m excited to work with them more closely until next steps are determined,” Schrier wrote. He also referred to Davis as an “incredibly valued colleague” and a “fantastic creative partner.”

Jonnie Davis, a longtime studio fixture at Fox and Disney, is stepping down from his role as president of ABC Signature.
Davis informed his Disney colleagues of his decision to depart the studio behind Grey’s Anatomy in a memo to staff Friday with the recently installed Disney Television Studios president Eric Schrier sending an internal note of his own thanking Davis for his contributions. (Read both in full, below.)
“I wanted to share that I have made the decision to step down from my role as president of ABC Signature. It has been a privilege to work alongside all of you to deliver some of the most acclaimed and celebrated shows, like ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, FX’s Fleishman is in Trouble and Hulu’s This Fool, to name just a few, that captivate, inspire and reflect the audiences that we so proudly serve every day,” Davis said in his memo.

Jonnie Davis is leaving ABC Signature.
Davis has been President of the Disney-owned studio since 2019.
He said it has been a “privilege” to work on shows such as ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, FX’s Fleishman Is In Trouble and Hulu’s This Fool.
The move, however, is not a precursor to merging ABC Signature and 20th Television and, despite a multitude of rumors, they will continue to operate as two separate divisions. The company is currently searching for a replacement for Davis.
Davis’ departure is a surprise given how close he has been to Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Dana Walden.
When he moved from 20th Television to ABC Signature, he was able to lure a handful of big-name talents across with him include Drew Goddard and Octavia Spencer.
Davis took over the role of President of ABC Studios in July 2019, four months after Disney’s $71.3B of key Fox assets and...

When developing her on-screen friendship with co-star Christa Miller, “Shrinking” star Jessica Williams said she positioned it as if they were hanging out “like a ‘Real Housewife of Pasadena.’”
In other words, she approached the relationship between her character, Gaby, and and Miller’s character, Liz, through the lens of her fascination with reality TV and obsession with the “Real Housewives” franchise. In this episode of Variety‘s Awards Circuit Podcast, Williams and Miller share how that TV friendship has developed into a real-life, off-screen one as well.
In separate interviews, Williams and Miller discussed the dynamic of their characters’ evolving personalities and what they hope for the second season. Listen below!

Warning! This article includes spoilers about The Wonder Years reboot season 2, episode 1.ABC’s The Wonder Years reboot season 2 began with a special one-hour premiere event that featured a guest performance from stage and screen actor Tituss Burgess. Earlier this year, Burgess joined the cast of Schmigadoon! season 2, and with his appearance in the premiere, he became one of many guest stars joining the cast of the Wonder Years reboot in its second season. The premiere also featured a hilarious guest performance from Phoebe Robinson as Lillian’s older sister, Jackie, though Burgess’s guest role is just as memorable for a different, important reason.
The reboot’s new twist on the original The Wonder Years led to a successful season 1, allowing big guest stars like Burgess to be featured in season 2. Burgess began his career onstage, appearing in the Broadway musicals Good Vibrations, Jersey Boys, and originating the role...

Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Wonder Years” Season 2 Premiere.
This is what an ally looks like! “The Wonder Years” star Dulé Hill celebrated the introduction of a queer character into the Williams family’s 1960s-era world and hopes the storyline will spark conversations and empathy amid renewed anti-drag and anti-trans rhetoric in America today.
Wednesday night’s Season 2 premiere of the ABC comedy series followed Dean (Elisha “Ej” Williams) heading to New York City with his father, after Bill (Hill) got a once-in-a-lifetime songwriting gig for the summer. The father-son duo befriended their neighbor Lonnie (Tituss Burgess), a performer who dresses as a woman both on and off the stage.
The first time Bill and Dean saw Lonnie in a dress, Bill was resistant to engage. Dean was confused but unmoved. Later, Lonnie sat with Dean after he was locked out of the apartment he was sharing with...

The Wonder Years Recap: Phoebe Robinson and Tituss Burgess Drop by the Season 2 Premiere — Grade It!

Summertime usually calls for outdoor barbecues, big family gatherings and an overall good time. For The Wonder Years’ Dean and his father Bill, the summer of 1969 was an opportunity to take a giant leap forward.
Wednesday’s Season 2 premiere found father and son in New York City while Bill attempted to write a song for legendary singer Marvin Gaye. Bill struggled to find his groove (and get Gaye’s attention) while an extremely bored Dean was stuck at home all day. Dean’s greatest excitement was seeing his neighbor Lonnie (guest star Tituss Burgess) pass by while dressed in drag.

Dean and Bill Williams’ adventure in New York City is about to take a loud turn on “The Wonder Years.”
Wednesday’s Season 2 premiere of the ABC comedy series, titled “One Small Step,” picks up in the summer of 1969 as the father-son duo head to the Big Apple for a career-making songwriting gig for Bill (Dulé Hill). The trip introduces both members of the Williams family to “new walks of life” while in the city, according to the episode’s official logline — and that apparently includes getting in touch with their “primal” feelings.
In a video clip shared exclusively with TheWrap, viewers watch as Bill and Dean (Elisha “Ej” Williams) share a meal with newcomer Lonnie (“Schmigadoon!” star Tituss Burgess), who encourages Bill to try “primal screaming.”

The Wonder Years is finally back! And we’re happy to report it’s back better than ever.
After an excellent freshman outing, the series returns for its second effort on ABC, with back-to-back episodes to kick off another season of laughter.
TV Fanatic scooped up an exclusive clip from the premiere hour, which sees Lillian’s visiting sister causing quite a stir when she provides a juicy testimonial to a packed church crowd.
Aunt Jackie is played by the hilarious Phoebe Robinson, who makes quite the impression when she turns up in Montgomery to spend time with her family.
As you’ll see in the clip below, Jackie has no qualms about putting her business (and the business of others) out there when she meets the congregation in Montgomery.
Jackie’s arrival will undoubtedly throw Lillian for a loop, as her sister has a reputation that precedes her.

Eliza Skinner had no idea that her Disney+ series Earth to Ned would be permanently taken off the platform until a text on the show’s writer group chat in mid-May shared an article about Disney removing more than 70 films and series from its streaming services that month. Among the disappearing titles was the comedic talk show — which launched in 2020 with Skinner as head writer — centering on an alien welcoming celebrities to his spaceship.
Due to its classification as a streaming variety series, Skinner says the writers and performers weren’t receiving residuals, although the show’s team had heard rumors blaming Disney’s tax bill. But while her loss isn’t a financial one, Earth to Ned can no longer serve as a calling card to help land future gigs for Skinner, who also doesn’t own a physical copy of the show.

Nearly a month after his “situationship” with Emily Ratajkowski ended, Eric André‘s ready to joke about his dating life. Just ask Katie Couric.
The 39-year-old comedian roped the TV news legend into his speech while accepting the Cult Favorite Award at Variety‘s Power of Comedy event to kick off the first night of the 2023 South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas. Like many of the night’s attendees, André was in shock after spotting Couric among the standing-room only crowd.

Austin, Texas — Patton Oswalt, Phoebe Robinson, Eric Andre, Chelsea Handler and others were in fine form on Friday night as Variety helped kick off the 2023 SXSW festival and conference with its Power of Comedy event.
The kudos pay tribute to innovators in the business of being funny. Presenters and honorees who gathered at the Creek and the Cave nightclub in downtown Austin made mention of comedians facing a fraught moment as social norms and cultural attitudes are changing.
Mike Lawrence, who tag-teamed with Nick Thune as host for the night, noted that he had to show more identification when registering to get his SXSW conference badge than he would have to buy a gun.
“In Texas it’s harder to get a festival badge than to get a gun,” Lawrence said. “Go to a gun store and tell them ‘I hate Jews,’ you get a gun. Go to registration and say ‘I’m an artist.

Phoebe Robinson, who created and co-hosted the 2 Dope Queens podcast, discussed how she stays healthy and her dream Valentine’s Day date, in an exclusive interview with uInterview founder Erik Meers at the Red Dress Concert on Wednesday night in New York City.
The podcast was hosted by Jessica Williams and Robinson and featured female comedians, comedians of color and LGBTQ+ comedians to elevate people from different backgrounds.
Her television show, Everything’s Trash, debuted on Freeform last summer. It stars Robinson as a podcast host going through the troubles of adulthood while her older brother (Jordan Carlos) runs for office.
“I carry a lot of tension. I’m a writer. I sit at my desk, I’m always stressed out and I travel a lot, so I try to do a little bit of yoga, a little bit of Pilates, spending time with friends. My key thing is to de-stress.
