Star Jazmyn Simon expressed that as long as fans want more movies, they will continue making them, hinting at the possibility of Psych 4. Played Rome Flynn, Raising Dion's Tevon Wakefield was a memorable part of the Netflix series as he changed the lives of several main characters. Adapted from the short film and comic book written by Dennis Liu, the show follows Nicole Warren (Alisha Wainwright) as she takes care of her son, Dion (Ja'Siah Young), and grieves the loss of her husband, Mark (Michael B. Jordan). However, Dion is no ordinary child: he has several powers, including the ability to change ions, allowing him to heal animals and people, become invisible, and create fire. While each episode of Raising Dion is moving and shares a story about the bonds of family, Netflix canceled the series after season 2.

The unforgettable characters of Raising Dion reflect the show's classic themes of good versus evil, with Pat Rollins (Jason Ritter) able to turn into the Crooked Man, the main villain who wants to kill Dion.

A potential Psych 4 movie is closer to happening than previously thought. Based on the popular comedy-drama series, the Psych film franchise has provided an avenue for the show to live on after its run. Psych: The Movie, centering around the mystery adventures of main duo Shawn Spencer (James Roday Rodriguez) and Burton “Gus” Guster (Dulé Hill), was released via the show’s original USA Network in 2017. Following the first film, Psych 2: Lassie Come Home and Psych 3: This Is Gus premiered on Peacock in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

According to TVLine, Psych 4 has been in the works and may happen in the near future. When asked for a status report, Rodriguez reveals that everyone involved in the film franchise is eager to get another Psych sequel going while figuring out scheduling. Finally, he confirms that the film is all the more likely to start rolling soon because there is already a script.

TV networks have long known the value of exclusive contracts for their stars. Networks that invest millions in developing and promoting a show don’t want to see the lead actor show up in another series on a rival network.

But in the streaming era, those exclusivity deals have become a major concern for actors. TV seasons have far fewer episodes than they did a decade ago, and there are often longer breaks between seasons. So actors often find themselves forced out of work for extended periods while they wait to hear whether their show has been picked up for another season.

The state of California is considering a bill that would up-end that arrangement. The bill, Ab 437, would bar exclusivity agreements for actors. If it passed, the stars of “Stranger Things” could show up on “Euphoria,” so long as the production schedules don’t overlap.

There will not be a third season of Raising Dion. Series star Sammi Haney, who played Esperanza on the Michael B. Jordan-produced superhero drama, revealed the news Tuesday on Instagram and it was confirmed by Netflix.

Paramount Plus announced that the animated series “Big Nate” will debut early next year. The series is from Nickelodeon Animation Studio and is based on the children’s books and comic strip written and drawn by Lincoln Peirce.

The 26-episode series follows Nate, an 11-year-old boy, and his best friends as they navigate sixth grade, dealing with disasters at home and detention at school, and using cartoons and drawing to express himself along the way. Psych 3: This Is Gus premieres on Peacock Thursday, November 18, and TV Fanatic got the chance to speak to the cast and crew ahead of broadcast.

"The Psych-os are the best," said Dulé Hill of the devoted fanbase.

"They've been on this journey with us since 2006. We're now in 2021. And the love just keeps building and growing," the actor added before saying he enjoyed working with everyone associated with the project.

He said they always look forward to coming back.

"It's a wacky bunch, and the story always seems to keep unraveling in ways that we don't expect," Hill added.

Art imitating life, in the case of Psych crime solver Carlton Lassiter, has profoundly moved series vet Timothy Omundson.

Omundson suffered a major stroke in April 2017, just as production on the original Psych: The Movie was getting underway; as such, Lassiter only appears via a brief FaceTime call with Juliet. In 2020, Psych 2: Lassie Come Home, as its title suggested, brought Omundson back to a greater degree, pinning the central mystery on the shooting of Lassiter, who then also suffered a stroke from which he started to recover throughout the TV-movie.

Peacock announced that “Psych 3: This is Gus” will premiere on Nov. 18.

A spinoff of the USA Network detective comedy “Psych” and a sequel to “Psych: The Movie” and “Psych 2: Lassie Come Home,” the new film will see fake-psychic detective Shawn Spencer (James Roday Rodriguez) and his friend and partner Burton “Gus” Guster (Dulé Hill) investigate the double life and estranged husband of Gus’ fiancée Selene (Jazmyn Simon). They work the case while preparing for Gus’ shotgun wedding and new baby, as Chief Charlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) grapples with the future of his career.

In a new trailer, which you can watch below, Shawn and Gus reprise their old bits and catchphrases — knocking on doors and using fake names to question people, working in costume and telling each other to “suck it.”

Yes, Shawn and Gus, there is such a thing as a Peacock streaming service. And, as with the previous movie, it will be the home for Psych 3 in November.

In was announced at New York Comic Con that Psych 3: This Is Gus will premiere on Peacock Thursday, Nov. 18. A trailer for “the sequel to the sequel” was also released, and it lays out the boys’ latest mystery to solve, reveals a spiffy new Lassie and of course trots out some silly pseudonyms for the BFFs.

You know that's right. Psych 3: This Is Gus will be coming to the Peacock streaming service soon. This news comes to us from deadline. The movie will be yet another addition to the Psych franchise after the USA show ran from 2006 to 2014. The first film Psych: The Movie aired on USA in 2017, while Psych 2: Lassie Come Home premiered on Peacock in Spring of last year. Psych was one of the most notable franchises purchased by Peacock as Psych 2 was a big draw for the streaming service early on. You can stream all eight seasons and two films of Psych on Peacock.

The streamer on Thursday announced it had picked up a three-quel to the fan-favorite Psych franchise with Original movie, Psych 3: This Is Gus, coming soon.

"In preparation for a shotgun wedding before the birth of Baby Guster, Shawn (James Roday Rodriguez) and Groomzilla Gus (Dulé Hill) go rogue in an attempt to track down Selene’s (Jazmyn Simon) estranged husband, as Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) grapples with the future of his career," reads the official description of the project.

James Roday Rodriguez (A Million Little Things), Dulé Hill (Suits), Maggie Lawson (Lethal Weapon), Kirsten Nelson (Versu”), Corbin Bernsen (LA Law), and Timothy Omundson (“his Is Us) will reprise their roles from the series and films.

Production on the new flick begins this summer in Vancouver.

In the film, in preparation for a shotgun wedding before the birth of Baby Guster, Shawn (James Roday Rodriguez) and Groomzilla Gus (Dulé Hill) go rogue in an attempt to track down Selene’s (Jazmyn Simon) estranged husband, as Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) grapples with the future of his career.

Along with the previously announced cast members, original series stars Maggie Lawson, Kristen Nelson, and Corbin Bernsen will reprise their roles from the beloved USA Network series. The film will begin production in Vancouver this summer.

“Psych” creator Steve Franks will co-write along with Rodriguez. Both will also executive produce with Franks also directing. Hill is also an executive producer along with Chris Henze of Thruline.

Not all films complete stopped shooting last year when the Coronavirus pandemic hit. In fact, one particular flick managed to actually get produced during this pause in Hollywood. HBO Max has unveiled the first trailer for Doug Liman’s quarantine-shot movie “Locked Down,” starring Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

The trailer introduces Linda (Hathaway) and Paxton (Ejiofor), a London-based couple planning to break up just before the coronavirus lockdown. Forced to quarantine for two weeks, they have no choice but to navigate their relationship, as they search for a light at the end of the tunnel.

While figuring out their living situation, the couple also faces challenges in their professional lives. “I’ve been furloughed. Now there’s literally zero purpose to my life,” Ejiofor says in the trailer.

Hathaway, on the other hand, hosts a video call during which she lays off her employees. “The nice people that I fired? They were fired because of me,” she says to Ejiofor.
