- Sanjoy Nag started out with documentaries before branching out to feature films. His debut feature 'MEMORIES IN MARCH', starring Rituparno Ghosh, Raima Sen & Deepti Naval, won him the Indian National Award in 2010 & was world premiered at the New Currents Section, Busan International Film Festival 2010. It was also screened at the Indian Panorama, IFFI, Goa '2011; MAMI, Mumbai; Kerala IFF, Durban IFF, South Africa and numerous others across the globe.
He has just completed a Hindi feature film 'GULAB' based on an eponymous novel by Annie Zaidi with Tanya Maniktala, Paoli Dam, Vardhan Puri, Rahul Bagga & Ujjwal Chopra, produced by Endemol Shine & TYYP and premiered at the Chicago SAF.
His previous Hindi feature 'YOURS TRULY' starring Soni Razdan, Pankaj Tripathi, Aahana Kumra & Mahesh Bhatt had its World Premiere at the Busan International Film Festival 2018 and is currently streaming on ZEE5. It won the Best Digital Film Award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival, 2020.
'PARAPAAR' (Bangla/2014) was his sophomore feature based on a Moti Nandy novel followed by 'GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE' starring Revathy, Shweta Tripathi, Rituparna Sengupta, Tejaswini Kolhapure & Shabana Azmi with music by Oscar Winner M M Keeravani (RRR, Bahubali).
The screenplay of 'MUJHE JAAN NA KAHO MERI JAAN' (a.k.a. Starring Ranbir & Hrithik) written by him was published recently. It was selected at the Asian Projects Market, Busan International Film Festival, South Korea and is in his wishlist.
In 1997 he produced the popular Bangla Album "Priyo Bondhu" with Anjan Dutt, Nima Rahman & the band Parash Pathar. An obsessive foodie and traveller, he dons the grease paint only for exciting roles - playing Rabindranath Tagore was one such in 'JEEVAN SMRITI - Selective Memories' directed by late auteur Rituparno Ghosh.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Sanjoy
