Andres Vargas was born in Bogotá, Colombia to Luis Vargas and Lucia Gallego. He is the second of four children (Luis, Leandro and Ricardo Vargas). He began his acting career soon after finishing high school encouraged by his mother. He went to The School of Arts of Bogotá (Academia Superior de Artes de Bogotá), and got his BFA in Acting in 1999. Eventually, he moved to the US. In the early years, he learned English and became a Reading and Acting teacher in Miami-Dade College and the public school system. In 2013, he got his MFA in Acting. His first acting job on TV was in "Padres e Hijos", as a guest star in 1998. His last supporting role was as "Dario Puente" in "100 días para enamorarnos", a bass player who dreamed of becoming famous with his rock band "The bad brothers".
