Two bills introduced on Wednesday are set to diversify the kind of productions that can qualify for California’s film and television tax credit program, though details have not yet been ironed out. Eddie’s advice to me was, ‘Write your own sketches. Otherwise they’re going to give you some Black people sh*t to do, and you ain’t gon’ like it.

The latest trailer for Hulu’s A Thousand Blows boxing drama has The Crown star Erin Doherty as Mary Carr trading barbs outside the ring with feared bare knuckle pugilist Sugar Goodson, played by Peaky Blinders star Stephen Graham, to grow her criminal empire.

“Watch me kill him,” a menacing Goodson, the self-declared emperor of London’s East End boxing world, tells Carr, who introduces herself as Queen of an all-female criminal gang known as the Forty Elephants. “Can’t happen,” she defiantly replies, as Carr looks to exploit the talents of Kirby, a Jamaican boxer played by Hezekiah Moscow, who challenges Goodson for survival, and dominance, in the illegal boxing ring.

Acclaimed Academy and Emmy award-winning documentarian Morgan Neville is honoring the 50th anniversary of “Saturday Night Live” with docuseries “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night,” which he executive produces. The four-part series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the history of the beloved sketch series, with each episode taking a different perspective on how the show began.

Pic, which is based on Eléonore Pourriat’s Je Ne Suis Pas Un Homme Facile, follows a womanizer who gets a real wakeup call when he finds himself in a parallel world dominated by women – a fiery female counterpart makes things far more complicated.

Netflix romantic-comedy feature Ladies First is lining up its talent.

Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?), Emily Mortimer (Paddington in Peru), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve), Tom Davis (Wonka) and Weruche Opia (Genius: MLK/X) are joining the cast of the feature from director Thea Sharrock (The Beautiful Game). Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike were previously announced to star in the project that adapts director Eleonore Pourriat’s French-language movie Je Ne Suis Pas Un Homme Facile.

Katie Silberman (Booksmart), Natalie Krinsky (The Broken Hearts Gallery) and Cinco Paul (Despicable Me) penned the script for the new film. A release date has not yet been announced.

Ladies First follows a womanizer who gets a shock when he is suddenly living in a world dominated by women, with an opinionated female counterpart adding to the complications.

2024 has been a year packed with great cinema from all different genres. Some of the years biggest hits have also been the most financially successful, like Dune: Part Two, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Deadpool & Wolverine. However, unfortunately, many other great films have fallen by the popularity wayside.

Every year brings a number of films that dont live up to financial or critical expectations, but there are also a lot of films that simply dont spark huge love from audiences. These films are absolutely not failures; they are completely underrated and deserve a second look.

Saturday Night Live is one of the longest-running TV shows of all time, but its premiere episode was filled with production problems that should have doomed the series from the start. And this year, Jason Reitman tells the story of that tumultuous and chaotic night with Saturday Night.

A praiseworthy score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes is reason enough to bring back a second season of the British black comedy Am I Being Unreasonable? Written by and starring Daisy Cooper and Selin Hizli, the show is a beautifully dark concoction of betrayal, female friendship, family and unfiltered honesty. Cooper and Hizli met at drama school, although their friendship didn't get off to the best start. Hizli told The Independent that Cooper compared her to Lily Allen for her arrogance. Evidently, the two got over their differences, and TV is all the better for it.

It's hard to think of much that could've been added (or taken away) from their series to make it any better. The laughs were in the right place, the twists took everyone by surprise and the darker moments left viewers a little creeped-out. Season 2 is due to come out next year with, hopefully, the same...

Chelsea Peretti is among a bevvy of guest stars set to appear on the second season of Daisy May Cooper’s BBC hit comedy “Am I Being Unreasonable?”

The A Thousand Blows trailer has officially been released. The Hulu show will star the Forty Elephants, a group of women who turn to shoplifting to survive and thrive in England from the 1800s through the 1950s. While they will be featured heavily, the show will also reveal Hezekiah Moscow (Malachi Kirby) and Alec Munroe (Francis Lovehall), who are two Jamaican immigrants who are introduced to boxer Sugar Goodson (Stephen Graham). The show is led by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.
