Like the band of siblings’ summer single “Comeback Kid,” “Stay in the Dark” employs some twangy strings reminiscent of their previous hits, but it’s clear their forthcoming effort will be a sonic detour from their Nashville roots.
To kick off the campaign for their next album, the band teamed up with legendary fashion photographer Steven Klein and stylist Nicola Formachetti (Lady Gaga‘s former fashion director!

Around 2012, the world of mass entertainment events discovered the bizarre allure of the hologram. Projections of singers passed or just not physically present began to appear at music festivals and awards shows. Jaws dropped, Facebook feeds exploded and commercial holograms seemed like they were here to stay. But instead of living in a holodeck-like world where we get blowouts with flickering copies of the Real Housewives of Wherever, holograms have disappeared from the main stage. The 49th annual Cma Awards took over Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tn, on Wednesday, drawing more than a handful of country's hottest stars. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood returned to host the show for the eighth consecutive time, while Miranda Lambert turned heads as she debuted her new pink hair. In addition to a stunning appearance by Jewel, Cassadee Pope, Kellie Pickler, and The Band Perry, each struck poses for the cameras. Also on hand for the big event was Justin Timberlake, who was one of the night's performers. Meanwhile, Jana Kramer flaunted her growing baby bump, and Kelsea Ballerini glowed ahead of her performance.

The Academy of Country Music Awards took over At&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, on Sunday night, bringing with it a bunch of stars. Hosts Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan kept the show rolling, while Miranda Lambert met up with Sofia Vergara and Reese Witherspoon backstage. Jason Aldean and his new wife, Brittany Kerr, walked the carpet together, as did Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Nick Jonas and Olivia Culpo, and Jamie Lynn Spears and Jamie Watson. There was even more star power there with favorite groups like Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, and The Band Perry arriving in bunches. Taylor Swift was honored with one of the 50th anniversary milestone awards, and she her mom, Andrea, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, shared personal stories on stage as Taylor accepted the statue.
