Well sh*t… Scott Adkins just had to go and step it up a notch with this very Brutal, very British, hugely funny and fairly orginal Brit crime drama. Boasting a superb leading man performance from Adkins and a delightful supporting cast of top Brit talent.
So I saw the trailer, then I read the synopsis, I looked into the cast list and instanly thought ‘Well I know how this is going to go’. However I do love a lot of the cast involved in the flick and I am known to enjoy a good Brit crime thriller. Add to this Adkins has never failed to deliver when it comes to punch-y,...

Ahead of Doctor Who season 11 premiering, new showrunner Chris Chibnall and his team told us that no classic monsters or villains would be featured in Jodie Whittaker’s first run as the Thirteenth Doctor. And sure enough, they were telling us the truth. Or at least, they kind of were.
You see, a rumor emerged the other day that we might see a classic foe during the New Year’s special, with speculation pointing to the Daleks making a big return to cause trouble for the Doctor and her companions. The evil pepper pots haven’t even been mentioned this season – though fans have theorized a way that they could be connected – but thanks to the first trailer for the special, which debuted today and can be seen above, it does indeed seem like those rumors may’ve been correct.

Before Doctor Who season 11 arrived, new showrunner Chris Chibnall and his team stressed that no classic monsters or villains would be returning for Jodie Whittaker’s first run as the Thirteenth Doctor. Sure enough, the resulting episodes proved they were telling the truth. However, a new rumor is pointing to them hiding a big secret: there might not be any old foes in the season itself, but there could be one in the upcoming New Year’s special.
The Mirror’s reporting that the Doctor’s long-running nemeses the Daleks will return for the hour-long episode that’s set to air on January 1st, a new airdate for the traditional Christmas Day special. The evil pepper pots haven’t even been mentioned all year – though fans have theorized a way that they could be connected – so we thought this was going to be the only season of the modern show that didn’t feature them.

WWE superstar The Miz and director James Nunn re-team for the sixth entry in the Marine franchise, filmed right here in the UK (though you’d be hard-pressed to tell thanks to some impressive set design), The Marine 6: Close Quarters.
This time round The Miz’s titular character, Jake Carter, teams with another WWE superstar, Shawn Michaels, who also plays a former Marine and Carter’s former Co, Luke Trapper. Stumbling across a terrorist plot (as one does) in a disused Oregon Brewery-turned squatters apartment block, the pair join forces to rescue a kidnapped girl (Louisa Connolly-Burnham) from a gang of international criminals, led by Maddy Hayes (Becky Lynch).

Set in an age of honour and justice by the sword, Last Knights tells the story of Raiden (Owen) – a fallen warrior who must rise up against a corrupt and sadistic ruler to avenge Bartok (Freeman), his dishonoured master. Think of the film as something akin to Seven Samurai but set in the middle ages and you’ll be somewhere close.
If I’m honest, I’m not the biggest fan of historical epics – give me a down and dirty, straight to DVD schlockfest over one any day. However when said historical epic the English language debut of famed Japanese director Kazuaki Kiriya (Casshern, Goemon), I can’t help but put my prejudices aside.
