Netflix has just tap, tap, tapped in the first trailer for "Happy Gilmore 2" and honestly, it really does feel like Adam Sandler never left the green, even if his hockey-loving alter-ego looks to be a little rusty.
Reprising one of his best roles after almost 30 years, the new film sees Happy dust off his clubs and return to the screen in a story co-written by the original film's scribe, Tim Herlihy. They aren't the only familiar faces taking a swing at the sequel, either, with Sandler being reunited with his original co-stars, Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller, and, of course, Christopher McDonald, who returns as s**t-eating arch-nemesis, Shooter McGavin.
As for the fresh faces guiding him back on the golf course, Sandler is also joined by Bad Bunny, Blake Clark, and Travis Kelce, as well as real-life daughters Sadie and Sunny Sandler. Directing duties will, this time, be handed...

It’s surprising that a YouTuber managed to integrate an Adam Sandler film into a Norse mythology video game. When God of War came out in 2018, it was overwhelmingly well-received. Many people made memes about how good of a father Kratos became to his son Atreus and praised the plot.

Kratos’s shout of “Boy” became famous, and it coincided with the arrival of several other well-known father figures, such as Joel from The Last of Us and Din Djarin from The Mandalorian. But it’s unlikely that anyone anticipated Kratos’s strong resemblance to Adam Sandler’s Sonny Koufax from the 1999 film Big Daddy.

Adam Sandler is best known for his slapstick comedies that do little to satisfy critics, but has, nonetheless, turned it into a brand. The actor has also surprised fans with small detours into dramatic territory with films like Spaceman, Uncut Gems, and Punch-Drunk Love. However, he has managed to balance his brand of comedies.
One of his earliest roles as an SNL alum was the comedy Airheads. Starring along with Brendan Fraser and Steve Buscemi, Sandler was the main draw due to his time on SNL. He reportedly used this clout to make sure the director cast Fraser, though he was a relative unknown at the time and was only known for Encino Man.

At the end of Leo, Ms. Malkin wins teacher of the year and takes Leo and Squirtle with her to her new classroom, but is their new situation a better deal than the 5th-grade classroom they've spent their lives in so far? Leo is a Netflix original animated movie written by Adam Sandler,...

Adam Sandler’s daughter Sunny Sandler is now a movie star in her own right, but before she had a clear sense of how Hollywood works, she wasn’t thrilled about seeing her dad kiss actresses for his films.
Sandler appeared as a guest on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Tuesday to promote his new Netflix animated feature, Leo, in which his daughters, Sadie and Sunny, join him in the voice cast. He and Hudson reminisced about co-starring together in Netflix’s 2017 title Sandy Wexler, with Hudson remembering that her son, David, who was 6 years old at the time, was confused as to why she was kissing her co-star in a scene.
For his part, Sandler responded that his own daughters have sometimes struggled with seeing him smooch actresses for his projects, with Sunny, now 15, having had a stronger reaction to it than her older sister, Sadie, now 17. Sunny and...

After 2023’s earlier surprise comedic family gem You Are Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah, Adam Sandler and his Happy Madison Productions have done it again for Netflix, this time in the delightful and remarkably wise CGI animated feature Leo. It is a charmer for kids and their parents who get a few lessons here along the way as well.
Sandler voices 74-year-old Iguana, Leo, as if he were about to take the lectern at a Friar’s Roast. Leo has lived his whole life on display in a fifth grade classroom with revolving groups of kids since the 1940s. Next to him is Bff Squirtle, a fast talking turtle voiced memorably by Bill Burr. They are kind of the Bert and Ernie of the classroom, talking only to each other, and never revealing to the kids or teachers that they can actually converse with humans too. Leo, for whatever reason,...

Leo, the new Adam Sandler animated comedy, is a movie with an identity crisis. A sincere and sweet kids’ movie mashed up with a more subversive adult skewering of that genre, it’s funny and touching in parts but never adds up to a cohesive whole. It’s a fine distraction for family night, but never establishes its own identity.
Sandler dons a curmudgeonly voice as the titular character, a lizard who’s spent his entire life in a terrarium inside a fifth grade classroom. Old and jaded, Leo spends his days critiquing the kids and bemoaning the current state of parents and their children alongside his best friend, an equally cranky turtle named Squirtle, voiced by Bill Burr. When the 74-year-old Leo learns that he’s only one year away from the end of his anticipated lifespan, he plots an escape so that he can finally enjoy the high life in the Everglades.

“Leo” is a movie produced by Happy Madison Productions, which, as you may already know, is Adam Sandler‘s production company.
“Leo” embodies Sandler’s peculiar sense of humor, this time in a movie specifically designed for young ones, starring Leo, a 74-year-old talking lizard.
And if you haven’t guessed it already, it’s Adam Sandler himself who lends his voice to the lizard.

‘Leo’ Review: Adam Sandler Plays a Literal Teacher’s Pet in Winning Toon From the ‘TV Funhouse’ Team

“Perhaps if people talked less, animals would talk more,” observes one of the human characters in “Charlotte’s Web,” a kiddie classic that serves as both the butt of several jokes and an inspiration for Adam Sandler’s animated “Leo,” an endearing Netflix original that strikes just the right balance between heart and fart jokes.
Basing the way Leo sounds on his squeaky-scratchy, slightly guttural impression of the late Hollywood agent Bernie Brillstein, Sandler voices a crusty old iguana who’s spent three-quarters of a century — practically his entire life — trapped in an elementary school classroom. Leo’s wisdom is largely limited to what’s taught in fifth grade, though he’s observed enough kids over his 74 years that the lizard reckons he’s qualified to advise this crop. Truth be told, he’s cheaper and more consistently helpful than your typical child psychologist.

The lessons in Netflix’s new animated coming-of-age musical Leo might be clichéd, but they are presented with enough heart to turn even the most cynical viewers into fans of the titular reptile.
Leo, voiced by Adam Sandler, is a lizard, and he’s lived in the same classroom for nearly 80 years. Hundreds of fifth-graders have walked through the halls of Fort Myer Elementary School, so there’s not much Leo hasn’t seen when it comes to angsty preteens and their anxious parents. Their aesthetics and preoccupations have changed — the most recent class of students are glued to their phones and no longer sporting mohawks — but their problems are largely the same. From his tank, which he shares with a turtle named Squirtle (Bill Burr), Leo observes each new batch of kids with a distant curiosity.
All of that shifts when Leo overhears an adult during parent-teacher conferences remarking on his age.

It’s a cool indie weekend when the new album by André 3000, New Blue Sun, has morphed into a “cinematic listening experience.” Variance Films is putting the experience, directed by Terence Nance, into three theaters in NYC (IFC Center), LA (Cinepolis Inglewood) and Atlanta (Tara).
Right now, it’s just those locations but after this weekend, “We will see what happens, where the wind takes us,” said Variance CEO Dylan Marchetti. “I swear, I wanted to make a ‘visual album’ but this is literally the way the wind blew me this time,” André has said.
Asked what’s is on the screen, Marchetti said, “Vibes.”
New Blue Sun, out today, is André’s debut solo album, his first full-length LP since his group Outkast released its last record 17 years ago. He described it as “an entirely instrumental album centered around woodwinds; a celebratory piece of work in the form of a living,...

You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, which premiered this past month on Netflix and stars Adam Sandler along with his two daughters Sunny Sandler and Sadie Sandler, is probably the best (and funniest!) representation of modern Jewish culture we've seen in recent movie history. Based on Fiona Rosenbloom's novel of the same name, the movie centers on 13-year-old Stacey Friedman (Sunny Sandler) in the tumultuous and drama-filled months before her very big day: her Bat Mitzvah. A Bar, Bat, or Bnei Mitzvah is a Jewish coming-of-age ceremony, where young adults read the Torah for the first time and, at least in modern culture, celebrate that accomplishment with a very big party. It's Judaism's sweet sixteen or quinceañara, just held a few years earlier – so we're all a little more awkward and a lot more dramatic.

Adam Sandler produced a comical yet meaningful film in You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah and the Netflix movie is filled with funny and heartwarming quotes that add to its appeal. Produced by Sandler's Happy Madison Productions, You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah is a Sandler family affair. Sandler stars as Danny, the father of Ronnie and Stacy who are played by his real-life daughters Sadie and Sunny Sandler. Meanwhile, Sandler's wife, Jackie Sandler, plays the mother of Stacy's best friend.
The film follows Danny's younger daughter, Stacy, on her journey to her bat mitzvah, which is a coming-of-age ritual in the Jewish faith. Like a typical 13-year-old, Stacy makes her fair share of mistakes but finds her way in the end. You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah has received good critical reception, and much of its appeal comes from its witty and relatable dialogue.

You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah stands out for its nepotism in Hollywood, but in a good way, as it features multiple Sandler family members in great performances. The movie challenges the typical criticism of nepotism in the entertainment industry, as the Sandler family's involvement was intended from the start and did not take away opportunities from other actors. Despite nepotism claims, the film has received positive reviews, earning Adam Sandler his highest Rotten Tomatoes score and praise for the performances of his daughter, Sunny, among others.

Adam Sandler has worked hard to create a successful career for himself in the entertainment industry, and his family has been able to benefit from his success. Sandler has cast his wife and daughters in bit parts in his films, and now his daughter Sunny is taking center stage for the first time in their new film, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. The most recent example of nepotism in film is the new Adam Sandler film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. It stars nearly his entire family.

"Saturday Night Live" vet and comedy movie icon Adam Sandler and his wife Jackie Sandler are all about the movies. The two met on the set of his 1999 film "Big Daddy" and since then, Jackie has continued to have roles in many of Adam's films.
