Joshua Michael, a visionary filmmaker and the founder and CEO of Selway Studios, was born in Southern California as the eldest of four brothers. Now a devoted father of four children, he carries with him the values of family and dedication throughout his life and work. Joshua's path to success was not without challenges, as he bravely served as a combat medic in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom during his 12-year military tenure. Despite facing injuries during his service, he received an honorable discharge in 2005.
Growing up in a family with a strong artistic and theatrical background, Joshua's love for film direction became evident early on. He nurtured his passion for filmmaking and sought to enhance his knowledge and expertise in the field, graduating from Evergreen college in 2012 with a BA degree in film production. However, Joshua's thirst for growth did not stop there; he went on to earn a Master's Degree in Instructional Design and Technology from Fullsail University in 2015, showcasing his commitment to expanding his horizons in the industry.
In 2010, Joshua took his first steps in the filmmaking world by establishing Area 51 Productions, laying the groundwork for what would later become Selway Studios. Always eager to push the boundaries of his craft, he embraced challenges with determination and creativity. In October 2018, Joshua made a significant move with his family to Hamilton, Montana, where he founded a film production company and an academy. These ventures served as platforms to train and empower veterans and aspiring students in the art of film production.
In 2020, Joshua's unwavering passion and entrepreneurial spirit culminated in the establishment of Selway Studios. As the CEO, he has been involved in a diverse array of projects, including music videos, short films, training videos, and documentaries, all while concurrently working on a feature-length film.
