Based on a novel by Dan Simmons (that you can buy Here), the first season of the AMC series The Terror was about a doomed journey to the Arctic in the 1840s. Ordering a second season, AMC turned the show into an anthology, and season 2 told the story of a specter haunting prisoners in a Japanese internment camp during World War II. Now, after a five year break, the show is making a comeback with a new season called The Terror: Devil in Silver – and The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that the cast includes Judith Light (Shining Vale), Cch Pounder (The Shield), Chinaza Uche (Dickinson), Hampton Fluker (Shades of Blue), b (You), Aasif Mandvi (Evil), John Benjamin Hickey (The Big C), Stephen Root (Barry), Hayward Leach (Tom Swift), Michael Aronov (The Americans), Marin Ireland (Justified: City Primeval), and Phillip Ettinger (First Reformed).

Chicago Med is the third procedural show in the One Chicago franchise developed by Wolf Entertainment. Set at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, the show focuses on the emergency department and how it interacts with patients, other doctors in the hospital, and the community. Chicago Med often sees patients who need psychiatric help, as well as children and infants, and is the go-to hospital for both Chicago P.D. and Chicago Fire.
Chicago Med, like Chicago P.D., began with a backdoor pilot on Chicago Fire -- Season 3, Episode 19, "I Am the Apocalypse" -- and has eight complete seasons on NBC. Chicago Med is one of Dick Wolf's shows that seems to have a lot of turnovers, but there are plenty of important characters remaining on the show and a number of characters who, while gone, will have an impact on future storylines. Chicago Med began Season 9 on January 17, 2024.

While the Drama Desk Awards nominate a slew of off-Broadway fare, the winners invariably come from Broadway. That was once again the case on Sunday when all but one of the 16 champs in the musical races were Broadway productions while it was 8 of 12 on the play side.
This love of all things Broadway even extended to “Hadestown,” which was only in contention for new elements such as cast members after having contended here previously for it Off-Broadway run. It won four awards: Director (Rachel Chavkin), Featured Actor in a Musical (Andre De Shields), Lighting Design, and Sound Design.
One of its main rivals for Best Musical at the Tony Awards is “Tootsie,” which claimed victories for Best Actor (Santino Fontana), Book, Music, and Lyrics. But it was another contender, “The Prom,” that swooped in and claimed Best Musical despite losing all of its other bids.

Daniel Fish’s wildly re-imagined revival of Oklahoma! leads New York’s Drama Desk Awards nominations with 12, including Revival of a Musical. No big surprise there — but the head-scratcher came in the Best Play category: To Kill a Mockingbird, one of the best reviewed productions of the season and a box office smash, was snubbed. See the full list below.
Unlike the Tony Awards, though, the Drama Desk Awards cover both Broadway and Off Broadway, significantly lessening the nominations’ prediction factor. Mockingbird almost certainly will be among the nominees when the Broadway-only Tony roster is announced Tuesday.
Some other notable considerations for the Desk roster is that this season’s Broadway productions of Hadestown, Torch Song and Choir Boy were ineligible from some major overall categories because each had been staged in previous seasons as Off Broadway productions. A muddled casting controversy and the resignation of a prominent director no doubt diverted some early public and press attention from the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, but this Broadway production, opening tonight, can handle whatever comes its way. When all’s said and done, Jack O’Brien’s knock-you-from-behind staging is as powerful and sturdy as Miller’s post-war classic itself.
And in a shattering performance that adds yet another layer to her quietly remarkable career, Annette Bening finds grace notes in the role of the grieving Gold Star mother that brings the character to vivid, brutalized life.
Co-starring Tracy Letts (August: Osage County) and Benjamin Walker (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), All My Sons is typically considered Miller’s stepping stone to, or perhaps heralding of, the masterpieces: 1949’s Death of a Salesman, 1953’s The Crucible and 1955’s A View From The Bridge.

Cop, out. NBC announced Wednesday that its Jennifer Lopez-fronted police drama "Shades of Blue" will come to an end following its 10-episode third season, which bows on Sunday, June 17 at 10/9c.
In a statement, Lopez — who also serves as an EP on Blue — noted that the series had reached its natural creative end point. “We crafted a poetic three-season arc on how [Harlee]’s journey ends, which is true redemption,” she revealed. “The way only Harlee could have done it — the hard way, the road less traveled.”

“I have enjoyed producing and starring in this beautifully complicated world and playing such an empowering yet flawed character – a woman, a detective but, first and foremost, a mother,” Lopez said in a statement. “Now looking at it with a little distance, playing Harlee strengthened me and helped me grow into a more self-assured woman.”
The series stars Lopez as Harlee Santos, a charismatic single mother and resourceful detective at the heart of a tight-knit crew of Brooklyn detectives. It’s run by enigmatic Lt. Matt Wozniak (Liotta), who often leads the team to step outside the limitations of the law in order to effectively protect their precinct and their own. Drea de Matteo, Dayo Okeniyi,...
