HBO Max is expanding its kids and family programming slate with B-Loved, a ghostly romance two-part special event starring Peyton List (Cobra Kai), along with three live-action acquisitions, including all three seasons of Hank Zipzer, based on the book written by Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver, inspired by Winkler’s life.

B-Loved (working title), from Endeavor Content and Wonder Worldwide, stars List as Bea, a free-spirited teenage ghost who forms a special friendship with the new boy in town, Cole, whose house she has been inhabiting for over 100 years. With the help of a magical ring that allows Cole to see Bea, they’ll rediscover the meaning of being alive, but also the importance of letting go. Written by Black List Nicholl Fellowship winner, Cesar Vitale, the special will be directed by Emily Ting (Tall Girl 2). It’s scheduled to premiere in time for Valentine’s Day 2023 on HBO Max.

Disney Plus has swooped on the international rights for “The Hardy Boys.”

The mystery series, which airs on Hulu in the U.S. and Ytv and StackTV in Canada, was sold by Corus Entertainment-backed producer-distributor Nelvana to Disney Plus in select international markets, and will land on Star.

Star is the sixth, adult-oriented tile on Disney Plus that launched earlier this year, and which serves as a home for much of the Hulu catalogue outside the U.S. The one territory where “The Hardy Boys” will remain on Disney Plus is Latin America.

Both season 1 (13 x 60′) and season 2 (10 x 60′) of the Daytime Emmy-nominated show — which was developed and produced in Canada by Nelvana and Lambur Productions, in association with Corus Entertainment — will debut on the Mouse House platform in 2022.

“The Hardy Boys” is based on the books by Franklin W. Dixon and features the principal characters in their teen years.

The Hardy Boys has been given the green light for a second season. Canadian broadcaster Ytv and Hulu have renewed the mystery series which is based on the classic children's book series by Franklin W. Dixon. Production will begin on season two later this month and the new episodes will arrive in 2022.

Disney Channel has acquired the My Babysitter's a Vampire comedy-horror telepic, as well as the 13-episode series of the same name, reports Variety. Produced by and distributed by FremantleMedia Enterprises and FreshTV produced the film which made its premiere in Canada last fall. In My Babysitter's a Vampire, Vanessa Morgan plays the the vampire who is assigned to look after kids. Matthew Knight, Ella Jonas Farlinger and Atticus Mitchell play the kids. The film will debut on Disney Channel on June 10th and the series follows June 27th, airing on Minday., with the series following June 27 and airing Mondays.
