Julie Daniluk
Julie Daniluk Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Bestselling Author, TV Host and Public Speaker
While mastering the rigorous theatre arts program at George Brown Theatre College, Julie found she was reading more about nutrition than Shakespeare. She had developed an insatiable appetite for figuring out how and why food affects our health and decided to pursue a new direction, attending the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition to become a Registered Nutritionist.
In 1994 Julie became a co-op owner & Chief In-Store Nutritionist, at one of Canada's largest health food stores, The Big Carrot. She served on the board of the Canadian Health Food Association in 2000 & 2009 and attended the Culinary Arts Program at George Brown College and studied Herbalism at Emerson Herbal College. Julie has continued her studies and completed the Certified Eating Psychology Coach Program at the Institute for the Psychology of Eating in 2017.
Julie's many distinct talents were brought together when she authored her #1 bestselling, Gourmand World Cookbook Award-winning books, Meals That Heal Inflammation (2012) and Slimming Meals That Heal (2014) (Publishers: Random House Canada, Hay House Publishers USA/UK/AUZ).
Julie's 3rdbook, Hot Detox (Publishers: Harper Collins Canada, Hay House Publishers USA/UK/AUZ) was a #1 National Bestseller in Canada for 11 weeks in 2017 and ranked the #1 bestselling health book. The second edition of the Hot Detox was released in April 2018. The Italian translation of Hot Detox (La Dieta Hot) was released in May 2018.
Through her books and her TV show, Healthy Gourmet, she has helped hundreds of thousands of people enjoy great-tasting, allergy-free foods while boosting their bodies' healing process. The Healthy Gourmet show is now in syndication in 72 countries, in 11 languages and is featured on the Oprah Winfrey Network (CAN), ZLiving (USA), and Fine Living (EMEA).
Julie addressed the Canadian Federal Government in Parliament about the health risks of genetically modified food and was a co-founding board member of the world-wide Non-GMO Project. She was the producer for the Bio-Diversity event with David Suzuki and FoodShare's Field to Table Festival. One of her greatest joys was her role as a chef on the Greenpeace Rainbow Warrior, during its GE-free New Zealand tour. Julie was the recipient of the Canadian Health Food Association's Organic Achievement Award in 2012.
Julie has been a regular contributor to CTV's Marilyn Denis Show since 2011 and John Edward's 'Evolve' since 2016. Television viewers may also recognize Julie from her Busted segments on The Right Fit (OWN) where, as a nutritional encyclopedia, she examines the food we need to be healthy.
