Michele, who played Rachel Berry on the US series, found herself at the centre of a race row when Samantha Ware (Jane Hayward) claimed she made her life a “living hell” due to “traumatic microaggressions” on set.

Ware’s allegation came in response to Michele’s post in support of Black Lives Matter following the killing of George Floyd in 2020.

Riley, when pressed on whether she believed Michele was racially insensitive during her time on the series, said at the time in an Instagram video: “I don’t give a s***. People are out here dying, being murdered by police.”

The 3-part docuseries will examine the dark side of the series on and off-screen, with a look at the sudden deaths of three of the series’ leads — Naya Rivera (Santana Lopez), Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) and Mark Salling (Noah “Puck” Puckerman).

The trailer begins with a montage of light moments featuring the cast, before it cuts into an interview with a subject revealing the moment he found out about Monteith’s death.

In a new appearance on the “And That’s What You Really Missed” podcast Thursday, hosted by her former co-stars Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale, Morris recalled a particular occasion in which Rivera followed her into her dressing room to confront her.

“I had developed an eating disorder. I stopped getting my period. I was so in my head about food and what it was doing for me,” Morris shared, noting that things escalated when the success of the Fox musical comedy led to a concert tour in 2010. While she didn’t specify her eating order, Morris said that she would often look at the food being served to her cast on tour but not eat — something Rivera noticed.

Discovery+ and ID have ordered a three-part docuseries that will explore the real story behind the string of controversies associated with Glee.

Produced by Ample Entertainment, the documentary will include first-hand accounts from key cast and crew members who worked on Fox’s six-season singing drama, which ran from 2009 to 2015.

The untitled project will address the controversies including the child pornography case of Mark Salling, who portrayed Puck.

Salling was arrested and found guilty in 2017 of possessing over 50,000 images of child sex abuse. He later died by suicide at age 35 in 2018 while awaiting sentencing.

Five years after the series ended, Lea Michele, who played Rachel Berry, was accused by former co-star Samantha Marie Ware of making her life a “living hell” due to “traumatic microaggressions” on the set of the show.

On Oct. 11, Colfer, who played Kurt on the hit Fox series, appeared on "The Michelle Collins Show" on Sirius Xm's Radio Andy, where he asked Collins if she was seeing "Funny Girl" after she mentioned she would be seeing a Broadway show.

Exclusive: Discovery+ and ID are exploring the real story behind Fox’s hit series Glee.

The streamer has ordered a three-part docuseries from Ample Entertainment, the company behind HBO docuseries The Invisible Pilot and Facebook’s 9 Months with Courteney Cox.

The series will have access to key cast and crew members, who will share first-hand stories of their time on the comedy drama series that ran for over 100 episodes between 2009 and 2015.

It will lift the curtain to reveal the highs and lows of the production and the on-set community and will also feature testimonials of close family and friends with never-heard-before stories.

The currently untitled series will address the controversies surrounding the series, including the case of Mark Salling, who played Puck. Salling was arrested and pleaded guilty to possessing images of child sex abuse and killed himself while awaiting sentencing.

Then there was the death of Cory Monteith, who played Finn.

The star shared a TikTok on Sept. 18 that shows her crying on the phone with someone named Jonathan, who is presumably her longtime friend and "Glee" costar Jonathan Groff. “I went to Glee every single day,” Michele says in a New York Times interview posted online today and set for this Sunday’s print edition. “I knew my lines every single day. Darren Criss and Mia Swier are parents! The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on April 11 and chose a one-of-a-kind name for her: Bluesy Belle Criss. Seeing as both stars are musically inclined - Criss rose to fame as Dalton Academy Warblers lead singer Blaine Anderson on "Glee," while Swier started an all-women Guns N' Roses tribute band, plays the bass, and sings - the name is quite fitting.

Criss announced the news on April 14 by sharing an Instagram photo of him and Swier cradling Bluesy in a hospital bed, writing, "M & D made some sweet music." Exclusive: Hulu is developing The Golden Spoon, a darkly comic murder mystery limited series based on the upcoming novel by Jessica Olien, from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna and ABC Signature, where Brosh McKenna and her Lean Machine banner are under an overall deal.

Written by Brosh McKenna, The Golden Spoon is set in the idyllic world of TV baking competitions. It tells the story behind the scenes of everyone’s favorite comfort show — a story of feuding hosts, sabotaged recipes, and the hapless contestants who must solve the crime before it’s too late.

Brosh McKenna serves as showrunner and executive produces through Lean Machine whose Heather Morris co-executive produces. ABC Signature is the studio.

Brosh McKenna is currently directing her first feature film, Your Place or Mine, starring Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher for Netflix, along with developing other projects under her Lean Machine banner at ABC Signature.

Naya Rivera’s “Glee” co-stars are reuniting for their second annual fundraiser in her memory.

The Snixxmas Charity, named after the late actor’s annual holiday party, raises money for Alexandria House — a transitional housing program in Los Angeles for women and children in emergency shelter.

A livestreamed event with several cast members, including Amber Riley, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Heather Morris, Vanessa Lengies, Harry Shum Jr., Chris Colfer, Dot-Marie Jones, Jayma Mays, Romy Rosemont and Jessalyn Gilsig, will take place on Dec. 17.

The inaugural benefit raised $117,000. This year’s goal is $150,000 to be raised through GoFundMe.

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of Glee star Naya Rivera's tragic death in a drowning accident and many of the actress' co-stars in the popular musical hit series have been paying tribute to her to mark the occasion. Stars including Lea Michele, Jacob Artist, Heather Morris, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Chris Colfer, and Matthew Morrison all posted on their social media accounts, with memories and thoughts about the star and their time working together before her untimely passing.

Heather Morris posted a series of images including a video of her getting a tattoo which reads "tomorrow is not promised", a quote from one of the last tweets by Naya Rivera just days before her death. Naya Rivera may be gone, but she’s certainly not forgotten by her old castmates on Glee.

Heather Morris, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Matthew Morrison and Chris Colfer all posted warm online memories today of the kind girl they knew. The outpouring comes on the one-year anniversary of Rivera’s drowning death in Lake Piru in California.

In that incident, Rivera and her son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, then 4, had been enjoying a day on the lake when both went swimming. The boy was later found alone on the boat, wearing a life jacket.

Earlier today, Rivera’s immediate family sat down with ABC-tv for a Good Morning America remembrance of the actress.

The “Glee” cast is paying their respects to Naya Rivera one year after her tragic passing, remembering the mulitalented actress as a both “a light” and “sassy queen.”

Although Rivera’s death was not confirmed until July 13 last year, tributes came pouring in on Thursday marking the one-year anniversary of the announcement that she’d been reported missing following a boating accident at Lake Piru in California.

Costars are choosing to remember Rivera, who played Santana Lopez on the beloved Fox musical-comedy, in life rather than death. Check out the heartfelt tributes here.

The tribute was opened by Demi Lovato, who had a brief role on the Fox series alongside Rivera.

“I don’t have to tell you that this year was a tough, tough year,” Lovato said. “A particular moment of heartbreak stands out for me: losing my friend Naya Rivera. I will always cherish the chance I got to play Naya’s girlfriend, Dani, on ‘Glee.'”
