Naya Rivera is being remembered on her birthday by her Glee co-star and friend Heather Morris. Rivera would have turned 36 years old on Thursday. Posting on Instagram stories, the 35-year-old actress, dancer, model, and mother of two posted the sweet tribute to her late friend. The post is white text on a somber black background and reads, “Happy Birthday, bebe. Today is hard. Missing you everyday, but today especially.” (Credit: Heather Morris via Instagram) Rivera died in July 2020 after she had been reported missing following a boating trip with her son, who was 4 years old during the excursion. Her body was discovered after authorities conducted a days-long search effort, and she had placed her son Josey back on the boat before she drowned. Josey told investigators his mother helped him onto the boat and then he looked back and saw her disappear into the water. She died at age 33. Rivera’s ex-husband,...

Amber Riley has appeared in an interview in which she was grilled about her former Glee co-star Lea Michele’s views on race.
Michele, who played Rachel Berry on the US series, found herself at the centre of a race row when Samantha Ware (Jane Hayward) claimed she made her life a “living hell” due to “traumatic microaggressions” on set.
Ware’s allegation came in response to Michele’s post in support of Black Lives Matter following the killing of George Floyd in 2020.
Riley, when pressed on whether she believed Michele was racially insensitive during her time on the series, said at the time in an Instagram video: “I don’t give a s***. People are out here dying, being murdered by police.”
She added that while the Glee set was “not the most comfortable environment”, she wasn’t “going to say that Lea Michele is racist”.
Now, during an appearance on Showtime’s Ziwe,...

Amber Riley is speaking out on former “Glee” co-star Lea Michele once more.
Two years after allegations that Michele was racially insensitive on the set of the Fox musical series and bullied her co-stars, Riley is clarifying her past comments on the “Funny Girl” actress.
Talk show host Ziwe asked Riley on her eponymous show, “Would you say that your famous coworker doesn’t see race and is in fact rude to all of her coworkers?”
Riley replied, “I think that she would probably say she doesn’t see race. But as we discussed earlier, everyone does.”
Samantha Marie Ware, a fellow Black actress, accused Michele of making the set a “living hell” when she had a supporting role on the series in a since-deleted tweet. A new series titled "The Price of Glee" will soon return to the halls of William McKinley High School - though things will look a bit different this time around. A forthcoming docuseries from Discovery+ and Ample Entertainment will explore the various tragedies and controversies that have plagued Ryan Murphy's smash hit "Glee," both while it aired from 2009 to 2015 and in the years since.
"In May 2009, 10 young actors made their TV debut on 'Glee.' By 2020, all of them would be famous, and three would be dead," the trailer, which dropped on Dec. 8, states.
Through the years, the "Glee" cast have encountered misfortune after misfortune. In 2013, while the show was still airing, Cory Monteith - who played lovable jock Finn Hudson and who was also Lea Michele's on- and offscreen boyfriend - died of an accidental heroin overdose. Then Mark Salling, who played Noah "Puck" Puckerman, was...

The tale of two “Glee”s is examined in an upcoming docuseries.
ID’s “The Price of Glee” contrasts the extreme fame experienced by the young cast of the hit Fox high school musical series with the scandals that plagued its stars. Cory Monteith died during the series of an overdose; co-star Mark Salling later killed himself after child pornography was discovered in his possession. In 2020, Naya Rivera was missing for days before being found dead from drowning while on a boating trip with her son.

After cyber bullies attacked Amber Riley for her weight during her time on “Glee”, the 36-year-old actress shared how she gained her confidence back.
“I suffered so much through my time on ‘Glee’ with people always having an opinion about my body. Like, my body was always a topic of conversation,” the “Wiz Live!” star told Page Six. “It was a war zone for such a long time for people to pick over online.”
She gave credit to “Dancing With the Stars”, which she appeared on in 2013 for season 17 with partner Derek Hough, because it “really helped” her win back her confidence.

Heather Morris is opening up about her eating disorder, and how her late “Glee” co-star, Naya Rivera, came to her aid.
In a new appearance on the “And That’s What You Really Missed” podcast Thursday, hosted by her former co-stars Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale, Morris recalled a particular occasion in which Rivera followed her into her dressing room to confront her.
“I had developed an eating disorder. I stopped getting my period. I was so in my head about food and what it was doing for me,” Morris shared, noting that things escalated when the success of the Fox musical comedy led to a concert tour in 2010. While she didn’t specify her eating order, Morris said that she would often look at the food being served to her cast on tour but not eat — something Rivera noticed.

Is Ryan Murphy ready to return to “Glee”?

Like, maybe we should really re-examine it as a brand,” Murphy said on the “And That’s What You Really Missed” podcast (via ScreenRant). “You know, should we do a reboot of it in some way? Should we do a Broadway musical of it in some way?”
Murphy continued, “Like, it’s sort of like an interesting legacy that I’m interested in doing in a positive way after sort of pausing for a while. But I don’t know. I just love what it says and what it did. And there will...

There was a funny moment on “Dancing with the Stars” on “Michael Buble Night” when guest judge Buble told “Bachelorette” star Gabby Windey that she was so good he wondered if she had previous dance experience. She sheepishly confirmed that she worked as a professional cheerleader in the past. It’s no secret that some of the “amateur” dancers who come onto “DWTS” are less amateur than others, and for no one is that the case more than Charli D’Amelio., who was a competitive dancer for over 10 years. Could that backfire against the TikTok star?
Any celeb has good reason to want to downplay their prior experience on “DWTS.” There have been shocking early eliminations in recent years of stars who might have been perceived to be ringers, like eighth-place Heather Morris in season 24 and 10th-place Tinashe in season 27. Other celebs with pre-established skills have gotten far in the competition but not won,...

Chris Colfer isn't going to see his former "Glee" costar Lea Michele in "Funny Girl." On Oct. 11, Colfer, who played Kurt on the hit Fox series, appeared on "The Michelle Collins Show" on Sirius Xm's Radio Andy, where he asked Collins if she was seeing "Funny Girl" after she mentioned she would be seeing a Broadway show.
Collins laughed and said she was. "Oh, my day suddenly just got so full," Colfer said. Collins explained that since she saw Beanie Feldstein in the production already, she wanted to see Michele, too. "I saw 'Six' last night, and that was amazing," Colfer countered.
"So, you're not seeing ["Funny Girl"] is my guess, while you're in town?" Collins asked. Colfer replied, "No, I can be triggered at home." The conversation moved on from there.
Back in 2020, "Glee" actor Samantha Ware alleged that Michele engaged in toxic behavior and abuse on the set of the long-running show.

When “Glee” premiered on Fox in 2009, it instantly became a ratings success and an object of intense fandom. But between the deaths of young stars Cory Monteith, Mark Salling and Naya Rivera, and the allegations of on-set bullying on the part of series lead Lea Michele, the show has become just as well known for the drama surrounding its production as its actual plotlines.
Those controversies will be explored in a new three-part documentary series ordered by the streamer Discovery+. Exclusive: Wiip has optioned The Memo, the forthcoming novel by former Wall Street Journal reporters Rachel Dodes and Lauren Mechling.
The independent studio will develop the book for TV with Lean Machine, the production company headed by screenwriter and director Aline Brosh McKenna.
The novel follows a 30-something woman whose mounting suspicion that she never “got the memo” is confirmed, and she’s given the chance to travel back in time and fix her worst mistakes—but at what cost? The Memo will be published by Harper Perennial in 2024.
Wiip’s Paul Lee and Mark Roybal will executive produce alongside Brosh McKenna, Heather Morris, Dodes, and Mechling.
“We loved Rachel and Lauren’s mind-bending, romantic, and immensely relatable novel about what it means to live up to your potential,” said Brosh McKenna. “Jenny’s story leaps across timelines and explores every what if, but ultimately celebrates the imperfect moments and friendships that make life worthwhile.

Lea Michele, who begins performances as Fanny Brice in Broadway’s Funny Girl revival next week, says she believes much of the recent online vitriol and trolling against her is sexist, and specifically dismisses the bizarre rumor that she can’t read or write as “sad.”
“I went to Glee every single day,” Michele says in a New York Times interview posted online today and set for this Sunday’s print edition. “I knew my lines every single day. And then there’s a rumor online that I can’t read or write? It’s sad. It really is. I think often if I were a man, a lot of this wouldn’t be the case.”
Michele was cast to replace the production’s original star, Beanie Feldstein, who in July announced her early departure from the production following tepid reviews, a Tony snub and widespread speculation that producers were eying Michele to take over.

And then there’s a rumor online that I can’t read or write? It’s sad. It really is. I think often if I were a man, a lot of this wouldn’t be the case.”

Lea Michele sat down with The New York Times ahead of her opening night on Broadway playing Fanny Brice in “Funny Girl” and confronted accusations of bullying made over the years by her former “Glee” cast members. Samantha Marie Ware came forward in 2020 to accuse Michele of making “traumatic microaggressions” against her on the set of the Fox musical comedy. Ware said Michele threatened to get her fired, among other forms of bullying. “Glee” star Heather Morris supported Ware, writing on Twitter that Michele “should be called out” given “the disrespect” with which she treated others “for as long as she did.”
“I knew from day one when I attempted to introduce myself. There was nothing gradual about it. As soon as she decided that she didn’t like me, it was very evident,” Ware told Variety in a 2020 interview. “It was after I did my first performance, that’s...

Lea Michele promises she is more ready than ever to finally be Fanny Brice in Broadway’s “Funny Girl.”
The “Glee” and “Spring Awakening” alum stepped into the lead role made famous by Barbra Streisand as “Booksmart” actress Beanie Feldstein exited the Broadway production. Michele joins the production September 6, and Feldstein issued a statement addressing the show moving in a “different direction.”
“I feel more ready than I ever have before, both personally and professionally,” Michele told The New York Times about taking over the part.
“Funny Girl” reunites Michele with “Spring Awakening” helmer Michael Mayer, who produces and directs “Funny Girl.”
Yet Michele’s casting caused online backlash due to multiple allegations from Michele’s former “Glee” co-stars Samantha Marie Ware and Heather Morris over racist “microaggressions” and bullying tactics. Michele apologized in 2020 for her actions “perceived as insensitive or inappropriate” coming from her “privileged position” as a lead...

Two former stars of Gladiators have shared their concerns about the changes in the forthcoming reboot of the hit programme.
The high-energy physical competition, which originally aired in the 1990s, will return to screens in 2023.
The reboot will comprise 11 episodes airing on BBC and will include new games as well as fan favourite contest “The Eliminator”, the final challenge of a giant obstacle course.
To adhere to 21st-century safety standards, however, the show will include some modifications to ensure that all participants are as safe as possible.
On Friday’s (26 August) episode of BBC Breakfast, Gladiators Kim Betts and Sharron Davies, known to fans as Lightning and Amazon, spoke about the show’s revival.
While looking forward to a new version of the programme, both were intrigued about how producers would achieve the same levels of excitement with tighter safety regulations.

Batgirl actor Ivory Aquino has directly addressed Warner Bros over their controversial decision to axe the movie.
Earlier this month (2 August) it was announced that Warner Bros had decided to shelve the film due to a changing regime behind-the-scenes.
Since then, Warner Bros are reportedly going to screen Batgirl on its studio lot in Burbank, California, for people who worked on the movie, both cast and crew, as well as representatives and executives.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Warner Bros would host the “funeral screenings” this week, before the footage is put under lock and key.
In an emotional letter to Discovery CEO David Zaslov posted from her Twitter account, Aqunio – who played Batgirl’s best friend Alysia Yeoh – has now begged Warner Bros to reconsider its rumoured plan to physically destroy the filmed footage.

Jennifer Lopez isn’t a fan of working with Virgos, according to “Glee” star Heather Morris.
The actress claimed the singer cut a bunch of Virgo dancers from the auditioning process because of their astrological sign as she chatted to Justin Martindale for his “Just Sayin'” podcast.
Morris explained how Lopez allegedly walked into the room after a long day of auditions and said, “Thank you so much, you guys have worked so hard. By a show of hands, if there are any Virgos in the room, can you just raise your hand?”

Last week, you may have noticed an uptick in Lea Michele news. The news itself was a mess of confusing, alarming headlines. One minute she’s giving her best friend Jonathan Groff (who is gay) a non-sexual tour of her vagina. The next, she’s offering up her uterus to him if he ever wanted to have a child.
If you were wondering why the two stars were giving such Tmi interviews, it’s because they were in the midst of a press blitz for the new HBO Max documentary on Spring Awakening.

Matthew Morrison, aka glee club teacher Mr. Scheuster, took to Instagram to post a lovely picture of Rivera with a simple “❤️,” as his caption.

During a recent podcast, Glee star Heather Morris claimed that bullying on set by Lea Michele should have been stopped there and then, but "many people were very scared." Speaking on Danny Pellegrino's Everything Iconic podcast, she explained how she and other members of the cast who were aware of what was happening should have done more to "step up" and put an end to it.
It is almost a year ago that Michele's former co-star Samantha Marie Ware made a post on Twitter that opened up a whole can of worms the series' lead would have probably rather kept sealed. In the post she said, "Lmao Remember When You Made My First Televison Gig A Living Hell?!?! Cause Ill Never Forget. I Believe You Told Everyone That If Tou Had The Opportunity You Would "Shit In My Wig!" Amongst Other Traumatic Microagressions That Made Me Question A Career In Hollywood.

Lea Michele came under fire last year over past alleged mean-spirited behavior on the set of Glee, for which she later apologized. Now her former co-star Heather Morris is speaking up about why she thinks she and other accusers took so long to come forward with their allegations, which surfaced nearly one year ago exactly. "It's like, we absolutely could have stepped up and gone to the Fox execs and said how we felt about the situation and nobody really did. So now we are living in a culture where it's acceptable to go do things like that, whereas I think many people were very scared," Morris, who played Brittany on all six seasons of Glee, said on the podcast Everything Iconic with...

“I don’t have to tell you that this year was a tough, tough year,” Lovato said. “A particular moment of heartbreak stands out for me: losing my friend Naya Rivera. I will always cherish the chance I got to play Naya’s girlfriend, Dani, on ‘Glee.'”
“The character Naya played, Santana Lopez, was ground-breaking for closeted queer girls — like I was at the time,” she went on. “And her ambition and accomplishments inspired Latina women all over the world.”
Lovato then introduced the “Glee” cast: Jacob Artist, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Jessalyn Gilsig, Dot-Marie Jones, Vanessa Lengies, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison,...
