In addition to Academy Award winner, Reese Witherspoon can add the utmost honor of becoming the first best actress Oscar winner to deliver a bedtime story for British kindergartners.
Witherspoon is set to read a children’s book for BBC children’s channel CBeebies, which targets kids aged six and under. The “Morning Show” star will read “Extraordinary” by Penny Harrison.
The CBeebies gig is especially on brand for Witherspoon, who’s something of a bibliophile herself. Through her production company Hello Sunshine, she launched Reese’s Book Club, which is curated by the actor and selects a book each month. The club has 2.2 million followers on Instagram.
“Extraordinary,” illustrated by Katie Wilson, shows how you can discover beautiful and wonderful things, wherever you look — if you just look closely enough.
Opening the story, Witherspoon reads: “Sometimes, when we’re busy, it can be hard to find time to notice the world around us.

The first reactions to Disney’s live-action Mulan are in!
Though the highly-anticipated movie doesn’t hit theaters until later this month, critics shared their first reactions to the film after its world premiere in Los Angeles on Monday night. The new Mulan was hailed as “vibrant” and “exciting,” though some noted that it “leaves a lot behind” from the original 1998 animated film.
“#Mulan is absolutely fantastic,” Kirsten Acuna of Insider tweeted. “Different enough with great action scenes, but with the heart of the original film. It doesn’t even matter that it’s not a musical. If you’re a fan of the animated,...

The first reactions to the much-anticipated live-action remake of Disney's Mulan have now hit the internet, and the consensus seems to be that this is a pretty solid offering. The reactions so far have been overwhelmingly positive, with many critics feeling that this is by far one of Disney's best live-action adaptations of one of their animation classics.
Though there was much criticism early on surrounding the decision to drop the songs, Angie Han over at Mashable states that she, surprisingly, did not even miss them.
"#Mulan is the best of the Disney live-action remakes since Cinderella - I didn't even miss the songs. Finds new notes in a story we already know while delivering gorgeous action, heart, and humor. Liu Yifei is."
Whilst Erik Davis from Fandango thoroughly enjoyed the decision to distance the live-action movie from its animated predecessor. There has been much condemnation of Disney for simply copying what came before,...

We all know the drill by now when it comes to Disney’s live-action remakes. After the likes of Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King, we go in expecting a very faithful translation of the animated classic. However, the new Mulan has always promised something different. With no Mushu the dragon or Captain Shang or even the original songs, fans have been worried about if Mulan would manage to capture the magic of the 1998 movie. But the first reactions are now in, and they’re nearly all glowing.
Most of the critics who attended an early screening of the film have shared positive thoughts about it on social media, with many praising how different it is from the animated flick. It seems Niki Caro’s direction and star Liu Yifei’s performance as the heroine will be particularly popular.
#Mulan is exciting, vibrant, emotional, and different from the animated version.
