Afe Olumowe is a Nigerian independent filmmaker who is known for films like The Phobia, Stripped, Anniversary, and When Love Comes Around. He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University , Obtaining a Bachelors degree in Dramatic Arts in 2004. After his national youth service corp in 2005, he started a film and television production company called Cowrie playhouse. That same year, The company produced a children TV drama called After School which he wrote and directed. In 2006, he wrote and directed his first feature titled 19 Macaulay Street which was released straight to DVD.
Afe has got nominations for writing and directing on numerous platforms ,some of which are the Nollywood and African Film critic Awards(NAFCA) held in Beverly Hills 2014 where his film,Stripped got three nominations : best film, best director and best costume design. In 2016, he wrote and directed Anniversary which got two African Magic Viewers Choice Awards nominations : best screenplays and best actress in a leading role.
Afe also has two short films to his credit and had also wrote and directed a TV talent show on Nigeria, National Television Authority which ran for one season.
