Season 2 of the HBO series adaptation of the video game The Last of Us is now just one month away! The new batch of episodes are scheduled to begin airing on April 13th – and ahead of that date, Variety has revealed the names of six new additions to the cast, including the great Joe Pantoliano (The Matrix). The actor, who is often referred to as “Joey Pants,” recently appeared on just one episode of Dexter: Original Sin as a character called Mad Dog, who exited way too soon. Here’s hoping he’ll be on The Last of Us for a while longer.

Pantoliano’s fellow new additions to the cast are Alanna Ubach (Euphoria), Ben Ahlers (The Gilded Age), Hettienne Park (Hannibal), Robert John Burke (RoboCop 3), and Noah Lamanna (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds). Details on their characters have not been revealed.

The fifth episode of Dexter: Original Sin picks up from where the previous episode ended. At night, Anthony Moretti, aka Mad Dog, the famed hitman suspected of killing more than 200 people, managed to break free of Dexter’s captivity and ran out of his own house to seek help. Dex knew that he’d made a blunder and therefore followed Mad Dog when suddenly a truck hit him and killed him on the spot. Dex knew that Miami Metro would be on its way, which was why he had only 12-15 minutes to wipe the evidence from Mad Dog’s house. Using the tools borrowed from the forensic department, Dex quickly removed the trace of him ever being there. But you see, even though Mad Dog was dead, it wasn’t Dex who killed him, meaning his hunger wasn’t satisfied, and therefore Dex needs to find a new target as quickly as possible.

At the end of the previous episode, a mysterious killer who had abducted Judge Powell’s son, Jimmy, killed him in cold blood when he tried to escape the killer’s lair. The fourth episode of Dexter: Original Sin began with the aftermath of Jimmy’s death when two civilians found his corpse hanging from a bridge. The Miami Metro detectives quickly arrived at the crime scene to find any leads in the case, but they couldn’t. Meanwhile, our protagonist, Dex, couldn’t stand the sight of a child’s dead body and started to panic. This was when Harry helped him out and asked him to leave the crime scene with Officer Sanders to assist him on another murder case on the Coconut Grove. This entire scene hints at the fact that Dex needs to kill again. He couldn’t just let the matter go and bottle up his feelings like everyone else.

In Friday’s episode of Dexter: Original Sin, our titular killer with a code experiences some normal, non-murdery feelings when a child — Judge Powell’s abducted son Jimmy — is sadly found dead, his body strung from a bridge.

Dexter has a panicked, sickened feeling after seeing his first dead kid, and the whole experience shakes him to his core. Harry assures his son that it’s a good thing that Dexter feels so spun by the sight of a dead child. So while Miami Metro deals with the Powell case, Harry sends Dexter to another scene dealing with a dead prostitute.

A little over a year ago, Showtime announced that they were ordering a series – then known as Dexter: Origins, now known as Dexter: Original Sin – that would serve as a prequel series to their popular show Dexter, which finished its eight season initial run back in 2013, then recently came back for a new season (called Dexter: New Blood) that appeared to wrap things up, but apparently didn’t. Dexter: Original Sin went into production a few months ago, and now a first look trailer has arrived online, along with a premiere date that’s much sooner than I was expecting. Written by Mak Tin Shu, the film follows a simple tradesman (portrayed by mainland Chinese star Xie Miao) who fights his way through a complex web of criminals and evil agents in a frantic attempt to win back his kidnapped daughter by any means necessary.

Brooks will portray Becca Spencer, Captain Aaron Spencer’s (Patrick Dempsey) ex-wife who shares custody of their son, Nicky. Aaron Spencer is the Captain of the Miami Metro Homicide Department who has a decades-long relationship with Harry Morgan (Christian Slater).

The 10-episode original drama series is set in 1991 Miami and follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson), a student refining his killer skills with the help and support of his adoptive father Harry. Showtime’s Dexter returned to San Diego Comic-Con on Friday night with a very special guest in tow, Michael C. Hall.

It’s not a Dexter Con without Dexter, and this evening there were two in attendance: Hall and Patrick Gibson, the latter of who plays the younger version of the former’s character in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin. A little over a year ago, Showtime announced that they were ordering a series – then known as Dexter: Origins, now known as Dexter: Original Sin – that would serve as a prequel series to their popular show Dexter, which finished its eight season initial run back in 2013, then recently came back for a new season (called Dexter: New Blood) that appeared to wrap things up for good… We’ve been hearing Dexter: Original Sin casting announcements here and there in recent weeks, and now Deadline has revealed that the cast of the show has expanded by nine! All of these actors are set to have recurring roles: Joe Pantoliano (The Matrix), Brittany Allen (The Boys), Randy Gonzalez (Bloodline), Aaron Jennings (Pure Genius), Raquel Justice (One Day at a Time), Jasper Lewis (V/H/S), Carlo Mendez (The Bay), Isaac Gonzalez Rossi (That’s Amor), and Roberto Sanchez (Palm Royale).

Dexter: Original Sin introduces new cast members, shedding light on Dexter's mothers and previous characters. Surprising familiar names like Laura Moser and Dorris Morgan will provide new depths to Dexter's past and storyline in the prequel. The addition of characters like Hector Estrada and Santos Jimenez hints at more secrets to be uncovered in Dexter: Original Sin.

Dexter: Original Sin has rounded out its cast with nine new roles, including Dexters biological and foster mothers. Set 15 years before the events of the original series, previous casting announcements have already revealed that Shadow and Bones Patrick Gibson will be playing the younger version of Michael C. Halls Dexter Morgan, opposite Christian Slater as his foster father Harry. John Wick Credit – Lionsgate Movies

John Wick is a high-octane action thriller directed by Chad Stahelski from a screenplay by Derek Kolstad.

Fillipino filmmaker Pedring Lopez is set to direct Ji, an action feature set in Korea and parts of Southeast Asia, with a cast that includes Yayan Ruhian of The Raid and Boy Kills World.

Exclusive: Mad Dog 2020 Casting, a 25-year-old British agency that has supplied background actors to productions including Call the Midwife and Doctor Who, is ignoring court orders to pay clients for work completed last year.

Mad Dog 2020 continues to trade despite failing to observe multiple county court judgments in favor of supporting artists owed hundreds of pounds from 2023. The company has also been accused of ghosting clients chasing money.

The payment issues have been rumbling on for many months, despite Mad Dog pledging to process all outstanding payments by the end of January 2024. Some clients have received the money they were owed, but others continue to chase. Equity and Bectu, two of the most prominent UK creative industry unions, are supporting affected members.

Lionsgates latest action-thriller comedy Boy Kills World will soon be available on digital and video-on-demand. This comes after nearly a month since the Bill Skarsgrd-led movie had its official theatrical release.

Prior to its theatrical debut, Boy Kills World had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. Despite its promising premise, the film wasnt able to impress lots of critics, as it currently holds a Tomatometer rating of 59% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 148 reviews. However, since the film has an average Audience Score of 71%, Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions are looking to make the movie more accessible to moviegoers who havent had the chance to see it in theaters. Per Bloody Disgusting, the R-rated film will now be available to rent or buy on digital platforms starting next week on Tuesday, May 28 for the suggested retail price of $24.99.

My head is still spinning from everything that just transpired.

Seriously, if The Rookie Season 6 Episode 9 didn't do anything else, it would have set the stage for a positively explosive season finale.

The hour was all gas and no brakes. So many names were thrown at us that it was hard to keep up, and with so many moving pieces, it was like watching a chess championship.
