Skeletors most fearsome creature, Panthor, gets a new origin that makes him the dark mirror of He-Mans Battle Cat. Battle Cat is one of He-Mans most important and trusted allies, and is synonymous with the character. Yet Skeletor had an animal of his own: Panthor. While Panthor never enjoyed the popularity of Battle Cat, he still made an impact, and he gets a new origin in Masters of the Universe: Revolution #4.

Titled Masters of the Universe: Revelation, the Netflix original was released in two five-episode drops, both of which I loved. A blend of modern animation techniques coupled with a throwback to the Filmation style of the 1980s cartoon, Revelation was blasted online by a vocal minority who disliked Smith’s decision to “kill off” Prince Adam in the first episode and make the series centered on Teela and many of the female characters. Episode 3 of Masters of the Universe: Revolution features former Man-At-Arms Duncan (Liam Cunningham) and wizard Orko (Griffin Newman) achieving an important goal, enhancing He-Man’s Sword of Power. To do this, Duncan goes to the one person he believes can do it, a locksmith who is, “small in stature and tall on talent.”

That locksmith is a short creature named Gwildor (Ted Biaselli.)

For those not well-versed in their Masters of the Universe franchise lore, Gwildor doesn’t come from the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Filmation cartoon. He actually debuted in the 1987 live-action movie, Masters of the Universe, played by Billy Barty. In that film he was also a locksmith whose main purpose in the plot was as the creator of the Cosmic Key, the object used to transport He-Man and company to Earth in that film.

He-Man once again has the power in Masters of the Universe: Revolution, and he’s back astride Battle Cat to face Skeletor and other evil forces in the ultimate war for Eternia. After the events of Masters of the Universe: Revelation, fans can expect a return to Motu’s roots in Revolution: nostalgic but cranked-up visuals and fight scenes from Powerhouse Animation Studios; an epic metal score by composer Bear McCreary; and a plot that puts the focus back on the legendary conflict between He-Man (Chris Wood) and Skeletor (Mark Hamill). “We’ve been building to this ultimate battle,” says Rob David, executive producer and Mattel vice president. “Their battle, especially in Revolution, encapsulates every theme of Masters of the Universe: magic vs. technology, good vs. evil, self-empowerment vs. duty to others. After voice acting as Evil-Lyn in the 1987 live-action film, Foster will assume a new role as Motherboard, an ancient sorceress of technology in the fight for the soul of Eternia, who stands as a formidable force against the Masters. Motherboard is a sentient AI force that serves as Hordak’s liasion on Eternia while she conspires against Skeletor and the people of Eternia.

Foster joins the voice cast alongside Chris Wood as He-Man, Melissa Benoist as Teela, Mark Hamill as Skeletor and William Shatner, whose role has yet to be announced.

Netflix’s One Piece has the opportunity to end the anime adaptation curse. Multiple anime and manga have been adapted into Hollywood movies or TV shows over the years. For example, Netflix released a Cowboy Bebop live-action show in 2021 and a live-action Death Note movie in 2017. Unfortunately, both Death Note and Cowboy Bebop joined the list of flawed live-action anime adaptations, which One Piece will now have to avoid.

The live-action One Piece show was announced to be in the works at Netflix on January 2020. Netflix’s One Piece release date has yet to be revealed, but the show is confirmed to drop in 2023. Similar to how Arcane and The Last of Us ended the video game adaptation curse, One Piece has all the tools to deliver one of the first great anime adaptations based on a popular shonen.

Netflix executive, Ted Biaselli, talks in depth about how One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda is involved with the live-action series. Netflix is prepping up for the release of their live-action remake of One Piece, which they hope will be a success. While their previous adaptations of Death Note and Cowboy Bebop were met with divisive opinions, they hope that their new take on One Piece will be much more satisfying. Netflix on Thursday dropped a teaser and premiere date for the third season.

December 1, 2021 is when all the episodes will be available to stream.

"In the third and final season of Lost in Space, the stakes are higher than ever and the Robinson family's survival instincts will be put to the ultimate test," reads the official description.

News of the end of the show has been known for over a year, but it's nice that a Netflix show is getting an ending.

Kevin Smith has spent the best part of a month building up his "love letter" to fans of 80s cartoon He-Man that is his new Netflix series, Master of the Universe: Revelation. The reaction the series has received isn't probably what Smith hoped for, with many fans of the original series more than a little disgruntled with his "continuation" of the classic franchise. Smith is a self-professed super-fan of the cartoon, making it easy to see why Netflix wanted him to bring the revival to screens and hard to understand how it has all apparently gone wrong with his core audience. In early 2019, the iconoclastic filmmaker, podcast host and foul-mouthed bon vivant got a call from his agent. Mattel, the toy company, wanted to meet, but they required that Smith sign an NDA first. So Smith asked where their offices were located.

“He’s like, ‘El Segundo,’ and I’m like, ‘Fucking Santa Monica? I’m not going out there!'” Smith said. “So, I passed. And then they called back, and he was like, ‘They said they’d come to your house.’ I was like, ‘Oh, that’s great. Yeah, send them over. I’ll talk whatever they want to talk about.'”

Sometime later, Rob David, vice president of content creative at Mattel Television, rolled up to Smith’s Hollywood Hills home.

Lost in Space has been renewed by Netflix for a third season, in which The Robinson Family’s epic space journey towards Alpha Centauri will conclude.

While the series is coming to a close, Netflix and Lost in Space Executive Producer/ showrunner Zack Estrin have agreed to enter a multi-year overall deal to produce new series exclusively at Netflix.

It also sounds like the decision to end the series was all Estrin.

The journey of the Jupiter will continue as Lost in Space season 3 has been confirmed by Netflix, and the forthcoming run will be the final outing for the series. The family-friendly space drama has been a draw for audiences as a worthy successor to the 1960s original with its grand sense of adventure with the Robinson family at its core.

Netflix has also confirmed that Lost in Space season 3 will allow the Robinson family to conclude its journey to Alpha Centauri. The news comes under three months since the launch of Season 2, which debuted on Dec. 24. Season 3 of “Lost in Space” is expected to debut in 2021, with the show having launched originally in April 2018.

Netflix has unveiled the full cast for the upcoming Master of the Universe: Revelation. The new series will serve as a direct follow-up to the beloved 80s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, with Kevin Smith (Clerks) heading up the creative side.
