Track by Track is a recurring feature series in which artists guide readers through every song on their latest release. Today, Michael Bolton breaks down his latest record, Spark of Light.
Decorated recording artist Michael Bolton has returned today (July 14th) with Spark of Light, the singer’s first-ever album of fully original, co-written material. Patently joyful and brimming with optimism, Spark of Light finds Bolton mining life for instances of pure positivity.
“[It’s] about being open to that joy that you can find in everyday life,” Bolton tells Consequence about the title track. “Sometimes you have to be willing to see it, to be touched by it. It can sneak up on you and if you embrace it, that joy can really turn your world around. Then you start to see life through a different lens, a more positive outlook. And when you bring that joyful attitude to the world,...

Seattle based teen-focused social shopping hub Lockerz.com is backing The Homes, a web series starring Chelsea Kane (Jonas L.A.) and Minni Jo Mazzola (Parks and Recreation). The series features a group of friends in a band who trek across the United States to the score of indie rock with each episode featuring a song and a music video. Band members include actors Zach Cumer, Justin Stein, and Noah Hunt. Guest stars include Keiko Agena (Gilmore Girls), Sean Gunn (also Gilmore Girls), and R&B legend Gavin Christopher. Gilmore Girls‘ John Cabrera directed the 12 episode series. “I like to think of The Homes as sort of like a road trip across the landscape of indie rock,” he says. “Or like an interstate highway that winds through our love of music. Or like a robot that’s been programmed to defeat the current breakdancing world champion.” The Homes premieres new episodes...

Remember Chelsea Staub from Jonas? Now she’s starring in a new web series on Lockerz called The Homes — it’s a must watch!
I’ll be the first one to admit web series confuse me. I’ve never really been one to jump on the idea of mini episodes streamed over the Internet — that is, until I saw Lockerz’ new show, The Homes. Starring the Jonas‘ actress Chelsea Staub (who now goes by Chelsea Kane), The Homes is a series about a girl who gets transplanted against her will from Los Angeles to Middle America and will to do anything to get back to her friends and boyfriend on the West Coast.
I don’t want to give too much away, but the leading lady, Annie, makes friends with the kids next door who have a garage band — and she convinces them to make the trek across the country.
