In an exciting announcement for fans of Great Teacher Onizuka, it has been revealed that the original cast members from the 1998 adaptation will reunite for the upcoming drama Gto Revival.

Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, Yuta Yamazaki, Yosuke Kubozuka, Hidenori Tokuyama, Shun Oguri, and Naohito Fujiki, who portrayed pivotal characters such as Kunio Murai, Masaru Watanabe, Yoshito Kikuchi, Kenji Youda, Noboru Yoshikawa, and Ryuji Saejima respectively in the iconic series, are set to reprise their roles in this highly anticipated revival.

It was previously revealed that Takashi Sorimachi will return to portray the role of Onizuka.

Other cast includes:

A late-1990s live-action adaptation of the beloved retro anime and manga franchise Gto: Great Teacher Onizuka is being revisited through a brand-new production.

Titled Gto: Revival, this new live-action project is the sequel to the 1998 live-action version of the classic Great Teacher Onizuka manga by Tooru Onizawa. A new clip of the series recently released on social media, accompanied by the release date of the television special, gives a closer look at how things have changed after 26 years. Most importantly, it showcases the return of actor Takashi Sorimachi in the title role of Onizuka.

The official Twitter account of the upcoming Gto Revival live-action drama unveiled a new trailer previewing the theme song on Feb 5, 2024. Blue Encount will perform the theme song “Poison”.

There is no denying the appeal of “The Confidence Man Jp” to its domestic audience. A successful TV series, in addition to three films, have all been undeniable hits, leading the box office and entering homes since 2018. The first of these big-screen showings, “The Confidence Man Jp: The Movie” shows why, but also allowed room for future instalments, ones which subsequently came.
