The sky was the limit when it came to voice casting “The Last Kids on Earth.”
Based on Max Brallier’s graphic novel, the animated Netflix series follows Jack (Nick Wolfhard) and his teenage friends, who spent much of the first season playing video games and zombie-fighting in a post-apocalyptic world that wiped out most of humanity.
Although the first season (and the source material) was primarily focused on Jack’s point of view, Season 2 was a time to open up the world, per the executive producers.
The approach was, “If we could have anyone in the world, who would we have?” Brallier says. They wanted “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill but thought, “Why would he ever want to do this?”
In order to entice Hamill to voice Bardle, a wise monster who is the leader of the monsters who have taken over the pizza parlor, Joe’s Pizza, they created...

Ken Mok‘s Godfrey has added Iliza Shlesinger, to the cast. She will star alongside Cleopatra Coleman and Nick Thune in the indie romantic comedy. The film is currently in production in Vancouver, Canada.
Written and directed by Mok, the film follows the titular character (Thune) who is dealing with his dark past in a profound way: he’s decided to be anyone but himself. Coleman plays Sara, a smart insightful writer who tries to unravel the mystery of Godfrey while uncovering her own true identity. Shlesinger will play the role of Kelly, Sara’s fast-talking, deal slinging literary agent.
“We have such a great cast for this film,” says Mok. “Cleo and Nick are not only gifted comedically – they are incredibly talented musicians as well. And this film features all of their skills. Now to have Iliza join this cast with her comedic energy and attitude – it’s really a dream come true.

The story follows a 13-year-old named Jack Sullivan and a gang of middle-schoolers “who live in a decked-out tree house, play video games, gorge themselves on candy, and battle zombies in the aftermath of the monster apocalypse. It’s a hilarious series filled with wisecracking kids, crazy gadgets, a lifetime supply of zombies and giant-sized monsters.”
The series stars the voices of Mark Hamill, Keith David, Bruce Campbell, Rosario Dawson, Catherine O’Hara, Garland Whitt, Montse Hernandez, Charles Demers, and Nick Wolfhard is set as the lead character, Jack Sullivan.
I haven’t read the books, but I’ve heard great things about it and it seems like it is perfect for an animated series.
