Nitin Vaidya is active in the field of Media for last three decades in various capacities - As a Journalist, Strategist & Business leader. Nitin was head of Reginal channels as well as COO of National channels at Zee. And later he was heading Hindi Channels at Star. While at Zee, Nitin also lead the setting up of movie business in Marathi with release of film Saade Maade Teen. During his tenure at Zee, he released around nine Marathi movies that include De Dhakka, Dhudgus. He also initiated award winning film Natrang while he was heading this business.
He was instrumental in launch of country's first regional language channel (other than southern channels) Zee Marathi on August 15, 1999 of which he was Business Head for six years. In 2005, Nitin was made Director, Regional channels at Zee and spearheaded Marathi, Bangali, Gujarati & Punjabi entertainment channels. He launched Zee's foray into Marathi Film production and distribution in 2007. He also led the launch of Zee Talkies, the only Marathi Movie Channel. Both these ventures are hugely successful.
In 2008, Nitin was made Chief Operating Officer (COO) of National Channels of Zee Network with a direct responsibility of flagship Zee TV as its business head. In 2011, he joined Star India as head of its Hindi Channels with direct responsibility of Star Plus as Business head.
Prior to this, as a journalist, Nitin worked as Special Correspondent for Masharashtra Times in New Delhi for 7 years (1991 - 1997) and covered Parliament & political affairs at national level.
After his stint in Broadcasting, he launched his venture Dashami Creations LLP in 2012 which produced eight daily fictions shows for Marathi Channels of Zee. Star, Colors. Dashami also produced shows in Hindi for Zee TV and Sony Entertainment Television. After a successful entry in to the field of Television as an entrepreneur, he launched another venture Dashami Studioz LLP to get into movie production. On June 2, 2017, Dashami Studioz released its first movie in Marathi titled Muramba which became a huge success at the box office. Muramba is getting remade in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Gujarati languages in days to come.
Currently Dashami is busy with their future film projects - Two in Hindi and around three films in Marathi. Also few shows on digital are under preproduction.
