The season two finale of The Voice was quite the extravaganza as former contestants and a number of today’s biggest artists joined the finalists for the big moment. As predicted, Jermaine Paul took the title at the end of the two hour live finale and what a well deserved win this was. But there was plenty of music leading up to that moment, some good, some bad.
As part of the finale celebration, each finalist chose former artists of the season to perform with on the the stage one last time this season, each individual reminders why Paul was indeed the best person to win. Tony Lucca from Team Adam performed “Go Your Own Way” with Jordis Unga. Lucca not making it into the final two was wildly disappointing but I cannot say that I missed Unga. Never a big fan of hers, last night’s performance did not help her case.

The contestants on "The Voice" haven't had an uneventful season by any means. There were celebrity feuds, babies born, parents lost -- but finally, the final four emerged. Tony Lucca, Juliet Simms, Chris Mann, and Jermaine Paul took their places on "The Voice" stage tonight for the last time this season.
Before any decisions were made, though, the artists got to have a little fun. It was a refreshing, laid back, no-pressure performance night for the contestants who have been singing for their lives week after week.
First up, Jermaine Paul invited his pals Jamar Rogers, James Massone, and Pip to join him for "I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5. They embraced the boy band spirit with matching outfits, and even some choreography. Jermaine said he chose the song because he really felt that America wanted those fellow contestants back on the show -- and after such a smile-inducing performances,...

Season 2 of The Voice may have been a little coaches-centric for my taste, but Tuesday’s two-hour telecast was — and I say this with no sarcasm whatsoever — structured more perfectly than any reality-competition finale I’ve ever seen. Oh, sure, there were a few awkward moments where the Top 4 were painfully grafted onto performances by big-name artists with products or tours to promote — Juliet with Flo Rida? Tony, Jermaine, and Chris relegated to undetectable backup for Hall & Oates? — but their “victory lap” ditties allowed them to bring back fallen comrades in a celebration of the weeks and months of music...

From complaints over Christina Aguilera, to a few truly impressive performances, season two of The Voice has offered viewers ups, downs, high notes and lows. And it comes to an end tonight.
In two hours, following Monday's final performance show, the NBC competition will crown its second winner. Seems like the perfect time for a live blog, doesn't it? Comment along with me below as The Voice names a winner and Christina tries not to alienate any more fans...

Universal Records added a new artist to their roster Tuesday night (May 8) when Jermaine Paul of Team Blake was named season-two champ during the finale of "The Voice," which also featured some major star power appearances from the likes of Justin Bieber and Flo Rida.
"I just wanted to say thank you for everyone that voted for me," the former Alicia Keys backup singer said on the sparkler-filled stage, before giving credit to his wife, children and parents. "God bless y'all, man. Nobody but Jesus, man, nobody!"
It was a close call, as host Carson Daly revealed just moments before the announcement that only a mere 4 percentage points separated Paul and runner-up Juliet Simms.

If you were one of the many viewers shocked and disappointed by the results show of The Voice last week, cheer up because your favorites stayed this week! Pop sensation and current coach on The Voice UK, Jessie J opened the results show with a performance of her hit single, “Domino” joined by Team Christina. Jessie J set the tone for a very satisfying night. The right dominoes fell tonight that is for sure.
Team Adam was first to find out their fate and the results were noticeably more satisfying than last week’s results show. Tony Lucca, Mathai, and surprisingly Pip were saved by America, forcing Kim Yarbrough, Katrina Parker, and Karla Davis to deliver a last chance performance, putting their fate in Adam Levine’s hands. Yarbrough has been a favorite of Levine’s but Parker is a favorite of mine, and Davis is a throwaway so the...

It was another action packed night on The Voice, as the results were handed out and four more singers were sent home. There were some contestants digging down deep to put on the performance of their lives.
There was also time for a quick performance by Jessie J with Team Xtina. Didn't they see that there was no point in brining the team on with the guest performer last week? They didn't do anything up there.
The only other negative from the night was the return of the awkward Sprint Lounge. At least this time Adam Levine mentioned how terrible it was, and hopefully they make some changes. I don't know what those changes need to be, but something needs to happen soon.
Now let's get to the results...
Team Adam
Safe: Mathai, Tony Lucca, Pip
I couldn't agree more with America on these choices, but what about the contestants in danger of leaving?...

"The Voice" aired its second live elimination show on Tuesday night, this time for coaches Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green to eliminate two contestants each from their teams. Twelve contestants performed on Monday, but only four from each team could make it through to the next round.
For Team Adam, America initially voted to save Mathai, Tony Lucca, and Pip. That left Kim Yarbrough, Karla Davis, and Katrina Parker on the chopping block. Each woman sang in the hopes of getting Adam's final save. Kim sang "Spotlight" and Karla sang "I Can't Make You Love Me." It was Katrina's rendition of Gwen Stefani's "Don't Speak," however, that really rocked the house.
Cee-Lo, Christina Aguilera, and Blake Shelton all said that they'd choose Katrina. Adam agreed. "Rather than have it be a long drawn out thing I'm not going to be emotional about this decision, I have to make the...

Were the right contestants cut (and saved) this week? Read our full recap & give us your thoughts! The second round of eliminations took place April 10 on The Voice, and with the performances being very disappointing the night before, the contestants really stepped it up to prove why they were in the competition to begin with -- even if it was a bit late. Jessie J started the night as the guest performer, eventually joined by Christina Aguilera's team, singing her hit "Domino." And then came the results: Mathai, Tony Lucca, and Pip were all saved by America on Adam Levine's team. This left Kim Yarbrough, Karla Davis and Katrina Parker to sing for their lives. Kim took the stage first, but her attempt was pretty weak. Karla sang next, but fell even farther than Kim. Before Katrina sang her No Doubt cover, you had to know Adam would save her.

For the first time on The Voice this season, the 12 contestants on Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green's teams found themselves at the mercy of America's votes. The coaches had high praise Monday night for Jamar Rodgers (Team Cee Lo), who performed Lenny Kravitz's "Are You Gonna Go My Way," and classic rocker Juliet Simms (Team Cee Lo), who took on "Roxanne" by the Police. At the other end of the spectrum were former model Erin Martin (Team Cee Lo), whose lackluster vocals on "Walk Like an Egyptian" left the judges unimpressed, and former Mouseketeer Tony Lucca, whom Christina Aguilera who called "one-dimensional.

Another four bite the dust. This week was the second round of live performances on "The Voice" and that meant saying goodbye to two contestants from Team Adam and two from Team Cee Lo.
After the remaining members of Team Christina performed "Domino" with Jessie J, the three contestants were revealed that America saved from Adam Levine's and Cee Lo's teams. Unfortunately, we had some more goodbyes to give tonight. After last night's entertaining live show from the hopeful contestants on Team Adam and Team Cee Lo, we found who captured America's hearts enough to move on in the competition and who had to lay their souls on the stage in hopes that coaches Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green would come to their rescue. If there is a winner from The Voice this season from Team Christina or Team Cee Lo, the options are slim as the artists proved this week. There were definitely less standouts this week, or at least less phenomenal standouts. People stood out for the wrong reasons this week be it nerves, song choice, pitch, or any number of things. Not even a handful of vocalists came out as strong as they could have this week so results are going to be very nerve-wrecking tonight. Team Adam easily took the win last night with Juliet Simms being the only vocalist from Team Cee Lo to really kill it so between these two teams, the remaining artists really have to hope that the odds work out for them.

Adam Levine and Blake Shelton may have been the co-winners of the battle to deliver the best one-liner on this week’s episode of The Voice, but in a surprise turn of events, they lost the war of taking home Most Valuable Judge trophy to Christina Aguilera.
Oh, sure, Blake’s “I almost threw my panties on the stage” was a priceless response to James Massone’s lady-baiting rendition of “Don’t Know Why.” And Adam hit the bullseye poking fun at Blake’s consternation over a group of shirtless male backup dancers: ”I think that Blake just bought a one-way ticket to Boner Town.

Have you noticed yourself fast-forwarding through Adam Levine's critiques on The Voice and waiting patiently for Christina Aguilera to speak? Have you noticed that's an absolutely insane scenario? Because I'm doing it too. And I'm scared.
Christina Aguilera has become the show's least sympathetic and/or sentimental panelist. She's thoroughly genuine, and even if she doesn't reach the caliber of my favorite 10 reality judges, she's exactly what The Voice needs: unflinching truth-telling. I hope she keeps it up in the weeks to come. Not just because it's entertaining (How about when she smacked Down her former Mousketeer buddy Tony Lucca?), but because it heightens the show's stakes. Fear this dirrty, caterwauling diva, contestants.
The Voice's second week of live rounds proved to be a mixed bag ranging from towering renditions of rock classics to meek attempts at dated pop songs. Let's invade and grade 'em all.

The second week of live performances on "The Voice" (Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Et on NBC) wasn't exactly riveting, but, as Carson Daly states at the start of the episode, we can count on Cee Lo "arguably one of the best performers in the world" to jazz things up.
And he does, putting stilts, light-up masks and shirtless Egyptians in his team's performances. Also, Purrfect reemerged, happily disproving our theory that she was used to make Cee Lo's wig last week.

The Voice returned for part two of the Top 24, treating the audience to a couple of outstanding performances, a few horrendous ones, a one-way ticket to Bonertown courtesy of Adam Levine, and a cheap shot like none other from Christina Aguilera to Tony Lucca.
Let's get right to the action...
Team Adam - Katrina Parker - "Tonight Tonight"
Adam wanted her to get away from sounding like Adele. Well, no one was going to confuse her voice with Adele's here. This was a solid performance, but nothing I would write home about for the first performance of the night.
Xtina said Katrina's voice really captivated her, but wanted her to rock out more and said there were a few pitchy notes. Cee Lo loved the staging, and then rambled on about the Smashing Pumpkins. Adam thought she killed it.
Grade: B-
Team Cee Lo - Cheesa - "Don't Leave Me...

Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine's teams went head-to-head April 9 for a disappointing second round of the live shows. Was I watching the wrong show April 9, or were the majority of this week's performances on The Voice pretty forgettable? I found myself desperately waiting for a knockout performance, but had to wait almost two hours to get it. On team Adam Levine, Katrina Parker was decent. Then, power-house Kim Yarbrough sang Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," and while her big voice was ever present, her overall performance fell short of and didn't quite fit her. The coaches seemed scared to tell her that, so they gave it to her nicely. Mathai sang "Ordinary People," using her quirky unique tone to try to charm the coaches, but her performance was a bit more lounge-like than nationwide competition-worthy. Tony Lucca received praises from the coaches, but I almost forgot about him...

Teams Adam and Cee Lo hit the stage to sing for America's votes.

Last week on "The Voice," Teams Blake and Christina hit the live stage and saw their numbers dwindle by two contestants each after all was said and done. On Monday night (April 9), it was Team Cee Lo and Team Adam's turn to sing for their survival in the competition and secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
Levine and Green, out of his Elvis clown costume from last week but sporting the bright red he's been rocking all season, seemed in good spirits at the top of the show, even joking with Blake about how underdressed he was.
Remember: The top three vote-getters from each team will move on automatically, while the bottom three will perform for their respective coach (and America, duh!) Tuesday night, hoping to...

After weeks of blind auditions and battle rounds, "The Voice" finally went live Monday night (April 2), with Teams Blake and Christina taking the stage. America now gets to vote on the best of the best, and the top three from each team will move on to the next round.
Twenty-four contestants survived the blind auditions and brutal battle rounds to make it to the live shows, and now their fate lies in the hands of viewers, who will take over for judges/mentors Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green in deciding who continues on and who goes home. Entering the ring for Monday's two-hour performance show (results will be broadcast live Tuesday night at 9 p.m. Et), the teams were...

It’s been quite a season, Voice fans, and after almost two months of blind auditions and battle rounds, we’ve finally got a live show! Last night marked the end of the battles (read Carson Daly’s blog on the episode here), and as the dust finally settled and the chairs stopped spinning, each of the four teams – led by coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton — are now filled with some truly talented artists, and America is ready to share the love with its votes.

Adam Levine put Whitney Myer and Kim Yarbrough into battle on last night's episode of The Voice. The singers performed 'No More Drama' on the show in an attempt to make it through to the live stages of the competition. Watch Whitney and Kim's battle below: Blake Shelton began the comments by describing the battle as "colossal", adding that it was "just so good" that he doesn't know who he would choose. "I pick Carson," he joked. Christina Aguilera said that there was a "dynamic, richness and confidence" in Kim's tone that she "couldn't deny", but the final decision was up to Adam. "They're both great singers," he said. "You both have a great, bright future ahead of you. Just know this is not easy... I really love you guys. It's been (more)...

Battle Rounds of The Voice reached a high this week as the best of the best in this competition went head to head as well as the best of the best against the hopeless. What an intense battle. Last week was a breeze compared to this week. Live shows are going to wreck the phone lines this year. This talent is truly out of this world. If you’re not watching The Voice, catch up as soon as possible and thank us all later. This is where the entertainment is at!

The Voice was a bittersweet joyride last night: I lost one of my favorite trillers, but we still have next week to see if my Queen-killing bald balladeer (bald-adeer?) Tony Vincent sails through. Also, some saucy, leggy ladies in fake-leather shorts survived. By default, that’s a triumph for the Lgbt community. Let’s grade the grudge matches!
Sera Hill vs. Geoff McBride, “Chain of Fools”
God, the battle rounds are so weird. And a little unsatisfying, frankly, since the strange tug-of-war between the two competing singers totally robs a song of its normal rhythms and intentions. Weirder yet are the contestant pairings, like the sultry, Estelle-cool Sera Hill and the howling soulman Geoff McBride, who joined forces on “Chain of Fools” for some reason. The argument on paper is the same as the one onstage: Sera has the smaller voice but brings the finger-wag choreography; Geoff has the raspy monster voice,...

There were so many impossible matchups on this week’s Voice “Battle Rounds,” with our four coaches selecting some of their most-promising acts for head-to-head vocal duels, that I half-wondered if other painful choices were imminent: Cut either crazy Cee Lo or his ridiculous fluffy cat. Pledge allegiance to Adam and his comfy sweater (somebody tell me they sell it at Target!) or Blake and his Hank Hill drawl. Join #TeamXtina’sLeftBreast or #TeamXtina’sRightBreast.
It didn’t have to be this way, of course. I mean, why did Blake have to pit Charlotte Sometimes against Lex Land just because both ladies have sultry-eerie voices?...

Forget the hype about Jamar Rogers. If you're looking for an artist who's the real deal and doesn't need a lot of polishing, rocker chick Juliet Simms is perfectly packaged and ready to go. Surprised by my pick? Out of all the winners of last night's Voice Battle Rounds, 26-year-old Juliet Simms stuck out to me as the most believable artist who knows exactly who she is and where she wants to go with her gravelly busting vocals. Juliet rocked out Rod Stewart's "Stay With Me" with her rusty, Steven Tyler-ish chords -- all the girl was missing were bell bottoms and a peace sign. I like her for the fact she isn't your generic pop artist, which is a category I think some of the other contestants could easily fall under. I mean, come on, as much as Jamar Rogers and Kim Yarbrough can impressively belt out some big notes,...

Though we were largely underwhelmed by last week's Battle Rounds on "The Voice," the second installment this week certainly made up for it. (Note: Speaking of making things up, henceforth, the judges/coaches will be referred to as coadges. It'll catch on.)
But Battle Rounds, Week 2 also brought two competitive duets that tore our hearts out because we loved both contestants so much. Who's moving on after adorable family band singer Whitney Myers and Chaka Khan doppleganger Kim Yarbrough took on some Mary J. Blige? And after the battle of the best friend hipsters, Jamar Rogers and Jamie Lono, who is popping PBRs and moving on to the live shows?
Read on to find out (and be prepared to be gut-wrenched)...

Granted, there was no Jesse Campbell vs. Anthony Evans showdown this week. But Part Two of The Voice's Battle Round was filled with a number of good performers taking each other on in the ring.
If there is any reason for concern at this point in the competition, it is definitely that the coaches don't have as much opportunity to shine during the Battle Rounds. There just isn't enough time for Blake to crack a million jokes, and for Adam to gloat about winning season one when there is all this talent to showcase on stage. Let's take a look at said talent in this week's Battle Round...

For once in his life, it’s going to suck to be Adam Levine. In this exclusive clip from Monday’s episode of The Voice (8/7c, NBC), the Maroon 5 frontman bears witness to a powerful/brutal Battle Rounds matchup between his promising team members Kim Yarbrough (wearing the black muumuu) and Whitney Myer (in a metallic minidress).
Only one diva can survive to the live voting rounds, and it’s Levine’s job to make that determination. Watch the ladies tear the lid off Mary J. Blige’s “No More Drama,” then hit the comments and tell us who should be declared the winner.

The blind auditions came to an end Monday night on The Voice as each coach - Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green - finalized his and her team, landing 12 contestants each. First, though, came the shock of turning around and seeing Cameron Novack (aka Novacaine), who didn't make it on to anyone's team. He sang, (kind of) rapped and even beat-boxed a bit to Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know." "I did not expect you to look that way," Levine said. "How are you not a woman?" Fortunately, most of the other singers had better luck.

That was fun. After four weeks, five episodes and nine hours, The Voice has completed its season two Blind Auditions, and it was certainly a pleasant change from the bore fest that has become of other singing competitions.
Each coach rounded out his/her respective team, but Blake Shelton did it with the most style this week. Whether it was a joke about murdering Christina, or one about wanting Adam Levine in a sexual way, the country star had me laughing out loud on a number of occasions.
Check out our The Voice quotes page for all of Blake and the others' quips from the Blind Auditions.
Now let's take a look at the four teams, and who they added in the final round. We will start with the defending champion, who also had the best success rate when hitting his button this season.

The fourth edition of The Voice's Blind Auditions was highlighted by a number of strong female vocalists. Naia Kete, Charlotte Sometimes, and especially Mathai had me intrigued from their first notes. Who did you think was the most impressive from this week's installment?
Two things from this week's episode need to be noted before getting to the actual auditions:
I will never get tired of watching Blake Shelton bow to the audience after making a comment they enjoyed Carson Daly aggressively cheering for every contestant to get picked while back stage with their families is the funniest thing about this show. I can't tell whether he is sincerely rooting for every single performer, or if he's just feigning it for their friends.
Now let's get to the teams, which are starting to fill up. With only one Blind Audition episode left, every team either needs two or three contestants to fill its squad.

It was a good night for Adam Levine on The Voice. Not only did the Maroon 5er gather four new team members, and remind us all that he won last year's competition yet again, but he proved that he is easily the best at stating his case to the contestants.
Levine uses rational, eloquent and convincing arguments to persuade youngsters - with all celebrity coaches staring them in the face - to join Team Adam. Blake's witty insults, Christina's embarrassing attempts to match and Cee Lo's "take me or leave me" attitude have yet to contend with Levine's abilities as a "salesman."
Let's take a look at the performances from the third installment of the Blind Auditions by breaking down The Voice Teams...

The Voice contestant Kim Yarbrough has said that she had never received an audition callback before this show. The singer told reporters on a conference call this week that she had "tried out probably for every show imaginable", but failed to find success until auditioning for the second season of The Voice. "This was the first time I got a callback in my initial audition," she said. "The people who were judging said I'd made it to the second level. I started screaming and they were horrified, thinking they'd told me I had made the show. I understood what they were saying but I was screaming because I had never received a call back for anything, ever." The Voice continued its much anticipated premiere last night with two hours of blind auditions that easily surpassed the level of entertainment from the first batch of vocalists. Each coach found a perfect match but some of the coaches and vocalists made some very intriguing choices, choosing to team up with the unexpected. All of the surprises were pleasant… well, that is except for the one vocalist who sang his heart out and was not chosen by anyone. More on that in a bit. All in all, the blind auditions proved yet again why The Voice is the best singing competition on television today. We tuned in for talent and got more than we anticipated. What a phenomenal night of music this was and will continue to be.

The Voice scored twin victories Sunday night: Becoming the highest-rated entertainment program in six years (with an average 37.6 million viewers) and avoiding FCC penalties when Christina Aguilera’s plunging neckline miraculaously hung on to her heaving cleavage like Mario Manningham clutching that football for a 38-yard catch during Super Bowl Xlvi. We're back for the second installment of "The Voice's" blind auditions. It's the first two-hour episode of Season 2 so if there wasn't enough of Christina's boobs, Adam boastfulness, or Cee Lo's studded attire last night, you are indeed in luck.
My sister, who will be recapping with me from this point forward, is looking for more of two things in particular: 1. Blake and 2. Cee Lo's kitty, who we've recently learned is named Purrrfect.
The show opens with Carson Daly's increasingly skinny head only introducing the judges and their Prince medley.
Chelsey: "Adam Levine's in a tank top and Cee Lo's in sequins, so all is right in the world."
Jaimie: "He's like Bedazzle-Me Elmo"
Chelsey: "Whenever Cee Lo doesn't wear sunglasses, I remember why Cee Lo wears sunglasses."
Cee Lo's fittingly sunglasses-inducing ensemble aside, Blake stars off shaky, which we can only attribute to his denim-on-denim ensemble.

Maybe it's because we haven't had time to get annoyed by the coaches, or maybe it's simply that Adam, Blake, Cee Lo and Christina seem to be having such a genuinely fun time together, but The Voice returned with a second night of Blind Auditions that was just as entertaining as Sunday's season premiere.
Between the coaches goading each other to turn around for less than stellar acts, Blake taking bows after being told he's good looking, and even Cee Lo's ridiculous reading glasses, there was a lot of fun being had in those giant red swivel chairs. My favorite, though, had to be Blake's admission that the contestants were getting "fooled by flash and boobs" in reference to Christina getting chosen a number of times early on.

Getty Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Carson Daly from “The Voice”
If Christina’s get-ups monopolized the conversation for the first season of “The Voice,” it appears as though Cee Lo has been passed that torch for the second. The show opens with the four judges collaborating onstage, and Cee Lo is, for some inexplicable reason, wearing a sequined Snuggie. We urge him to patent this (coat? jumpsuit? matching pants and sweater combination?) immediately.
Meh, this judges’ performance is boring.
