Legion offers intriguing insights into where this all could be heading in another delightfully twisted episode...

Primarily I’ve had nothing but positive things to say about Legion’s addictively disorienting first season, but I have criticised the show in the past for stalling the story. That ends tonight; this episode’s recess from the plot while David, Syd, and the Summerland crew are trapped inside David’s mind with The Devil with the Yellow Eyes is not only full of the stylistic flourishes that make the series great, but it’s also illuminating. This episode begs the viewer to look at the series from a different perspective while delivering key pieces of information and hints about where things might be heading.

Jj Abrams surprised many people by revealing a movie he produced in secrecy during the Superbowl, 10 Cloverfield Lane. Many people got excited, but some of us saw it as something more. Almost immediately after the announcement many communities sprung up again, Reddit was in full bloom, and Cloverfield fans woke up from their lengthy naps. Why? Well Cloverfield was rather known for it’s Arg (Alternate Reality Game) that led up to release, and many fans assumed 10 Cloverfield Lane would follow suit. They were right.

You see it wasn’t Cloverfield itself that was so amazing to me. Jj Abrams might be a big inspiration to me, and his big monster movies might be thrilling to watch, but Cloverfield did something more than just be a movie. It created a universe that is fun to explore, it opened up channels, and it was pure marketing genius.

The music world has been gutted by the tragic and untimely death of David Bowie, not least because many fans never had the pleasure of seeing him perform onstage. The clips below, of course, are no substitute, but rather a humble collection of some of the best Bowie performances available online today. In no way is it meant to be comprehensive, and we encourage you to add your picks in the comments."Space Oddity," Hits a Go Go (1969) Bowie serving better 'fro than Marc Bolan. "Starman," Top of the Pops (1972) Bowie's Top of the Pops debut marks the first of many examples of his fashion genius. Also seen prominently here: guitarist Mick Ronson, Bowie's go-to collaborator at the time. "Oh! You Pretty Things," Old Grey Whistle Test (1972) Bowie at the piano looking ever the class act. Now that the adaptation of James Dashner's "The Scorch Trials" is two-thirds done, and the final installments of "The Hunger Games" and "Divergent" are coming, it's time to think about which young-adult books will translate well to the big screen.
And we're not just going to list the obvious, like name all of John Green's books (although "Looking for Alaska" is already in pre-production). We're going straight to the source - fellow young adult authors, many of whom have their own titles optioned and in the works.
Here are 14 Ya and children's authors' picks for the books they wish would get green lit.
1. Gayle Forman, author of "If I Stay"
"I would love to see Matt de la Peña's 'The Living' turned into a film. It follows a young man, named Shy, who works as a towel boy on a cruise ship that's sunk by a tsunami.

Only a few days out from the release of his new “definitive collection” box set, David Bowie has released a suitably noirish new music video for “Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)”. Directed by Tom Hingston and photographer Jimmy King, the video features footage of Bowie and the Maria Schneider Orchestra recording the track in a studio, superimposed atop shots of a dark, smoke-filled city. “Sue” and Bowie’s recently released demo “Tis a Pity She Was a Whore” will be released both as a digital single and a 10-inch vinyl, first in the U.K. on November 17th, then as a “Black Friday” in the U.S. on November 28th. The video was made to promote “Nothing Has Changed,” a new retrospective box that presents songs from throughout Bowie’s career in reverse chronological order. Watch the video below.

Only a few days out from the release of his new "definitive collection" box set, David Bowie takes you out to an alley and laments your death. The Thin White Duke has released the new music video for "Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)" that's black and white and film noir all over. Serving more as a lyric video than a narrative, the clip is directed by Tom Hingston (who leads a British creative agency) and photographer Jimmy King. It subtly lets you focus on the small story Bowie's telling of Sue, and the humming contributions of the Maria Schneider Orchestra and Grammy Award-nominated saxophone honcho Donnie McCaslin. "Sue" and Bowie's recently released (and dizzyingly titled) demo "Tis a Pity She Was a Whore" were released in promoting "Nothing Has Changed," a new retrospective box set from Bowie and Columbia/Legacy. When a film opens with David Bowie’s Oh! You Pretty Things, it has set itself up for greatness. Instantly intrigued and endeared to the project at hand, the next, and somewhat more challenging job for the filmmaker, is to then maintain that distinction, and director Stacie Passon does a more than commendable job, in what is an accomplished debut feature film.
Robin Weigert plays Abby, who finds herself rushed to hospital by her partner Kate (Julie Fain Lawrence) when her two kids accidentally throw a ball at her, cutting the side of her face open. ★★★☆☆ Stacie Passon's debut film Concussion (2013) explores the modern ennui suffered by liberal cookie-cutter wives - with a twist that the female in question is a lesbian with her own partner and children. Beginning with a slightly satirical opening featuring a gaggle of middle-aged Stepford Wives doing a spinning class (as David Bowie's Oh! You Pretty Things plays over the opening credits), we enter a world of free-thinking, good-looking women, bemoaning their non-existent flabby thighs and ageing skin. One such woman is property developer and interior decorator Abby (Robin Weigert), who's no longer satisfied with her 2:4 lifestyle.

Maker Studios is living up to its last name: studios. The company has long been managers, agents, and brand-brokers for the 1 percent of social media personalities that can generate financially viable traffic. But now amid its nearly $1 billion acquisition to Disney, Maker is turning its focus to the creation of original content, not just shepherding and marketing their talent's self-produced creations. First up, a lifestyle series about millennials in Los Angeles called “Oh, You Pretty Things.” (No relation to the 1971 David Bowie song.) The big payoff moment. The money shot. The Omg/Wtf/Nsfw scene in horror. These are the moments that define films. The moment that either grosses and disgusts or shocks the audience in such a way that they have to come back for the sequel. Here are our Top 13 Wtf Moments in Horror.
We're going to try to keep this to relatively mainstream films. That's not to say that some lesser known indies haven't had some shocking moments, but things seem that much more disturbing when the movie in question reaches a wide audience.
Beginning with our honorable mentions, we've got to include I Spit on Your Grave, one of the most censored and banned films of all times. Camille Keaton played Jennifer Hills who was raped for the better part of the first half of the film. Plenty of Nsfw moments there. Also those infamous shit-eaters in Salo: 120 Days of Sodom were certainly shocking.

Having wowed Venice audiences in the past with The Queen (Dame Helen Mirren picking up the best actress award here in 2006) and Dirty, Pretty Things, Stephen Frears returns to Venice, in competition with Philomena. Judging by the audience’s reaction, it appears he has wowed the festival again.
Philomena is “inspired by” the true story of Philomena Lee (Dame Judi Dench), an elderly Irishwoman living in London who finally decides to unburden herself of a secret: as a teenager she had become pregnant, was taken to the convent-run home for unmarried mothers and was disowned by her father. Hummingbird Director Steven Knight on Debuts, Gangland London, And Casting Advice From David Fincher
Over the last few years, Steven Knight has made a name for himself as a writer of engaging and intelligent movies. His new film, Hummingbird sees him transition from writer to writer/director, and while it may not be for everyone, it’s certainly a well-shot, well-directed, well-acted and interesting take on the idea of gangland London.
We spoke to Knight about Hummingbird, his decision to turn his hand to directing, and his views on the way the future of the British film industry.
HeyUGuys: You’ve spent your career to this point carrying on the honourable profession of writing. What made you want to become a director as well?

Within the first 60 seconds of the pilot episode of Mistresses, we have Alyssa Milano, looking sexier than ever, with cleavage to boot.
So far, we're off to a great start.
Alys—sorry, Savannah sidles up to a bar and immediately starts flirting with a handsome blonde man who is already sitting. They coyly flirt before leaving together, but first she tells him to put on his wedding ring.
When they get back to a bedroom, the man interrupts things with his beautiful Australian accent...that kills the mood. They're married and Savannah is ovulating and this was all just a role playing game that fizzled.
Meanwhile, at a Pretty Things store, we meet the beautiful April, who is embarrassed to find out her friend put an app on her phone which basically seems like the straight version of Grindr, and is causing a sketchy dude to hit on her.

Oscar winner Charlize Theron has gone to some dark places onscreen before (notably in "Monster"), and now she'll star in the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s bestseller "Dark Places." Gilles Paquet-Brenner ("Sarah's Key," "Pretty Things") will write and direct the film, in which Theron will play Libby Day, a woman who -- when she was only 7 -- was the sole survivor of a family massacre seemingly at the hands of her brother. She had testified against him, and 25 years later, is confronted by a criminal rights advocacy group who force her to recount her story in order to uncover a hidden truth. ...

Jude Rogers salutes a film charting the struggle of indie record shops and their unsung owners
The British independent record shop hasn't had the rosiest time recently. More than 500 of them have closed in recent years, their racks emptied of glossy sleeves, peeling posters and lapel badges. This makes the arrival of a profitable film about them even more special. Last Shop Standing was crowd-funded by music fans and made in a month, and it has a history as heartfelt and ramshackle as the shops that it celebrates.
Released on DVD and on a screening tour of record shops and art centres this month, Last Shop Standing features cameos from Johnny Marr, Billy Bragg and Paul Weller – but this isn't a film about them. It's a film about Diane from Liverpool, owner of Musical Box, remembering the first Elvis single shocking her mother. It's about Brylcreemed octogenarian Laurie from Dales Records in Tenby,...
