Composer, conductor, pianist and singer Ange Lorenzo served in the 28th Coast Artillery Band in World War I following high-school education, then worked as a pianist for music publishers and as part of the Jack & Jerry singing team over WJR, Detroit. Lorenzo joined the Jean Goldkette and Seymour Simons orchestras as pianist, and soon formed the Tunesters orchestra and then directed the music for the A. B. Marcus shows. Joining ASCAP in 1940, Lorenzo's musical collaborators included Richard Whiting, Raymond Egan, Gus Kahn and Joseph Alden, and Ange Lorenzo's popular-song credits include "Watching For Your Shadow", "Sweet Forget-Me-Not", "Dreamy Dream Girl", "I've Waited for This", and "Sleepy Time Gal".
