Exclusive: International sales outfit LevelK and financing and production company Brick Lane Entertainment have boarded Bogieville, a new vampire horror flick directed by actor and director Sean Cronin (Give Them Wings).

Brick Lane Entertainment and LevelK will co-represent the film for North American distribution.

John Wick is a high-octane action thriller directed by Chad Stahelski from a screenplay by Derek Kolstad.

British filmmakers Sean Cronin and Peter Stylianou’s latest feature, “Drained,” has wrapped post-production and is being sold by Cronin’s Magnificent Films at the Cannes Film Market.

Cronin is also an actor who has appeared in “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation” and “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” He has played villains in some 89 films, besides directing several titles.

From Magnificent Films and Silent D Pictures, director Sean Cronin’s vampire movie Bogieville is headed to the Cannes market, and Bloody Disgusting has been exclusively provided with the bloody teaser trailer this afternoon. Sink your fangs into this first look trailer below.

Deadline first reported on Bogieville earlier this week, describing the upcoming film as a “southern fried vampire thriller.” And the vamps in this one look pretty gnarly, with their shark-like teeth reminding us a bit of the bloodsuckers in Radio Silence’s new movie Abigail.

A few months ago, we heard that Denise Richards (Valentine) had signed on to star in Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace, a sequel to the 2020 action horror film called Angels Fallen. Angels Fallen was distributed by Uncork’d Entertainment, and that company will be releasing the sequel sometime in 2023. With the new year quickly approaching, a teaser trailer for Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace has been unveiled and can be seen in the embed above.

Richards was in the news last month because she was shot at in a road rage incident. Thankfully, she made it through that situation unharmed.

Denise Richards will team with “The Raid 2” star Arifin Putra for “Angels Fallen: Warriors of Peace.” The film, which shoots in Los Angeles in August, is a sequel to 2020 action horror film “Angels Fallen.”

Ali Zamani, who directed the first film, and previously directed family comedy “C.I. Ape” and horror thriller “Incision,” will continue the franchise, typified by its metaphysical mania and muscle power. With Nicola Posener and Houston Rines in the lead roles, the first film also employed the services of veterans Michael Madsen, Eric Roberts and Nicholas Turturro.

In the sequel, the hero, Gabriel, rounds up his motley crew of demon slayers, styled as the ‘Warriors of Peace’ to fight an apocalypse-bound army of the dead. Richards’ character is a tough weapons expert charged with arming Gabriel’s crew. Joko Anwar, despite having only a handful of films to his credit, has already become a prominent name among international cinema fans, with a filmography that includes entries in horror, thrillers, comedies, and dramatic romances. With his latest feature A Copy of my Mind making its North American debut at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival, Anwar is already onto his next project.

His next project significantly differs, however, in that it’ll see Anwar follow many of his Hollywood contemporaries and make the jump from film to television. When Gareth Evans' The Raid: Redemption burst on to cinema screens in 2011, action movie fans rejoiced. Here was a film that relied on pure, scintillating fight choreography and inventive direction to produce one of the finest action films in years. A sequel surely beckoned, and in 2014, The Raid 2 arrived; bigger, badder and with a considerable amount of attitude.

The tower block of The Raid was merely a microcosm for the wider fight against corruption and organised crime in Jakarta and, picking up from where the first film left off, Rama (Iko Uwais) finds himself going undercover.

Written and directed by Gareth Evans, The Raid 2 picks up right where the original film left off. Rama’s brother Andi (Donny Alamsyah) is executed by the crime syndicate after escaping the building. Rama (Iko Uwais) goes to Bunawar (Cok Simbara) and is asked to go undercover in a secret unit to expose the corruption of the Police Commissioner. Rama wants no part of it until he learns of his brother’s murder and the threats to his family. He goes to prison for assault where he is told it will only be for a few months. While there he must gain the trust of Uco (Arifin Putra), son of the head of Bangun’s (Tio Pakusodewo) criminal enterprise. When Rama is finally released from prison, Uco is waiting for him and he is given a job by Bangun.

This one's a no-brainer, and we've certainly given it plenty of coverage over the last few months, but The Raid 2 is (finally) available to own in the UK. As from tomorrow in fact. Director Gareth Evans reunites with star Iko Uwais for the sequel to their cult hit with the acclaimed, action-packed martial arts epic The Raid 2, available on Blu-ray™, DVD and Digital HD August 11 (that's tomorrow) from Entertainment One. Is it even better than the first (if that was even possible!) one? You’d better believe it! U.S. fans have already got their hands on a copy, so it would be interesting to see what you guys think. The Raid 2 is one of - if not the - biggest releases of the year. An exclusive digital release has been available this week but we've managed to hold off 'til now. Really can't wait for this.

Coming back for a sequel, Gareth Evans’ follow up to The Raid, The Raid: Berandal is a much bigger film in every respect. It’s scope (2.35:1) instead of flat (1.85:1), it’s a full fifty minutes longer, and it features some of the craziest and greatest stunt sequences in the history of cinema. But also with that two and a half hour running time comes some bloat, which may have been unavoidable with the scope of the film. Iko Uwais returns as Rama, who this time goes undercover to take the most powerful bosses in the business, but to do so he most put a lot of his life on the line. My The Raid 2 Blu-ray review follows after the jump. The film starts with Rama being taken in by the good cops as many of the supporting character who survived the first film are eliminated from the story.

2012's The Raid came with a flurry of fanfare following a series of festival screenings touting it as a masterpiece of action cinema. Written and directed by Gareth Evans the film no doubt featured some impressive action choreography, but the story was non-existent to the point of boredom. That said, to say my expectations for The Raid 2 were limited is an understatement. When I saw it runs two-and-a-half hours my interest dwindled even more, expecting to see it, if ever, on Blu-ray. Well, I did and I'm very glad I did, proving expectations can sometimes cause you to miss something great. The immediate comparison here is to say The Raid 2 is to The Raid what Infernal Affairs 2 is to Infernal Affairs, but that's to give The Raid too much credit. Today sees the release of The Raid 2 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and they’ve provided us with an exclusive 2-minute clip that sees Rama fighting for his life in close quarters.

“Immediately following the events of The Raid: Redemption, Rama (Iko Uwais) is forced to reinvent himself as an undercover cop in order to provide protection for his wife and child. Working for the anti-corruption taskforce led by the one person he can trust, Bunawar (Cok Simbara), he is given a mission to engage himself as an enforcer for a local mob boss, Bangun (Tio Pakusodewo). Finding a way in through Bangun’s son Uco (Arifin Putra), Rama must hunt for information linking Bangun with police force corruption. All the while, he harbors a dangerous and personal vendetta for revenge and justice that threatens to consume him- and bring both this mission and the organized crime syndicates crashing down.

If there is an art to the visceral brutality of cinematic violence, Gareth Evans may well be one of the new masters. His breakout 2012 feature, The Raid: Redemption, was a master class of simplicity, placing a rookie cop (Iko Uwais) in the middle of a high-rise apartment building full of criminals who are all ordered to kill him and his colleagues by the drug lord who reigns supreme on the top floor. That was all the plot Evans needed to craft an expert martial-arts action film, and it worked marvelously. The easy route for a sequel, perhaps, would be to offer more of the same: maybe a bigger building, or more fearsome bad guys in a similarly contained setting. Instead, The Raid 2 shifts into a different, more expansive, but no less relentlessly violent gear.

In the original Indonesian action film Raid: The Redemption from 2011, Welsh writer/director Gareth Evans didn’t bother much with story or character development, instead making his film a kind of videogame-inspired siege. Rookie cop Rama (Iko Uwais) powered his way through a 15-story tenement infested with killers, gangsters, and mobsters in a war that left bodies literally piled in the halls. Though Raid: The Redemption had a slight story, it was an unbelievably violent and excitingly frenetic film, a non-stop orgy of brilliantly choreographed fight scenes that scored on so many levels. With the sequel, The Raid 2, Evans has applied the same high-impact directorial style to a sprawling, more complex, The Departed-like story about crime family dynamics, corrupt politicians, moral dilemmas and mixed loyalties. The result is a 2 ½ hour epic of compelling drama punctuated by fist-pumping action, and stomach-churning violence that barely gives the audience a moment to catch their breath.

If you.re a fan of the fantastic .The Raid. franchise (the film just received the Critics. Choice Seal of Approval), you may want to watch this interview. Gareth Evans, the writer/director behind the franchise, talks about the probability of making .The Raid 3. and the possible plotline. He also talks about his interest behind making part 2, how the whole franchise came about, what creating documentaries have taught him in making feature films, and the eye-popping action scenes of the series.

If sequels are meant to take original concepts to bigger, better and greater heights, "The Raid 2: Berandal" succeeds in every sense.The film is longer, the plot thicker and the fight choreography even more spectacular than the first film, "The Raid: Redemption."

It's not without its issues though. The movie's ambitious storyline runs into pacing problems during the first act, while the second act pushes the audience's ability to count how many characters can fit into a single movie. As a result, it's tough to keep track of who's who, and pivotal moments may go over the top of viewers' heads since they're so busy watching other people's heads get kicked in.

Chicago – Two years ago, the Indonesian film, “The Raid: Redemption”, smacked action movie fans upside the head. To briefly sum it up, it was nuts. The straight-forward plot took a backseat to some amazing stunt work, an insane amount of creative choreography and in-your-face violence. There’s no need to worry about the sequel, “The Raid 2,” not living up to the original.
