Hosted by gaming industry star Geoff Keighley out of the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the event covered 29 competitive categories, including Game of the Year. Today - November 18 - the nominees for The Game Awards 2024 have officially been revealed, giving fans a better idea of what titles are standout hits from this past year. Last year's Goty winner was the unstoppable Baldur's Gate 3, but with 2024 including releases like Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, there are lots of great contenders for Game of the Year 2024, along with every other category.

Nominations for the 2024 Game Awards, which honor the year’s most innovative, unique and impactful story-driven narratives in the gaming industry, were announced Monday.
Leading the pack is the popular Japanese RPG adventure series Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with a total number of seven nominations. Following the critical success of Rebirth, released earlier this year in February, the third and final game in the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy is officially in active development. Max Caulfield, the protagonist of the first game of the Life is Strange franchise, is making a return in Double Exposure later this month on October 29. The new title comes from Square Enix and developer Deck Nine, which previously worked on previous series' entries Before the Storm, True Colors, and the remaster of the original Life is Strange. Life is Strange: Before the Storm has been an extremely suspenseful prequel to Life is Strange thus far. Delving into the pasts of familiar characters and keeping the setting of Arcadia Bay has made for an effectively grabbing experience on players who have played the original Life is Strange title.
