NBC's comedic drama "Good Girls" may have been all about women criminals breaking bad, but according to TVLine, the series' cancellation in 2021 didn't have much to do with the "girls" that give the show its title.
Soon after "Good Girls" was officially canceled in 2021, TVLine reported a surprising and slightly scandalous scoop about the show's fate. The series debuted in 2018 and follows the exploits of three Midwestern moms who fall into a life of crime after an impulsive supermarket heist leads to unlikely repercussions. "Parks and Recreation" actress Retta headlined the show along with "Mad Men" fan favorite Christina Hendricks and "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and "Arrested Development" actress Mae Whitman. The show also made a star out of Manny Montana, who played sexy crime boss Rio and quickly became a series breakout. According to the outlet's sources, it was Montana who tied up the series' future after negotiations...

We've seen a few snippets of footage from Ironheart in various Disney+ sneak peeks, but are still waiting on a full trailer. With the show set to premiere this June, we're sure we'll get a teaser at some point over the next few weeks, but for now, Marvel Television has released four new promo stills.
The images spotlight star Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams - who we first met in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - taking flight in a bulky suit of Iron-Man-inspired armor.
Riri is expected to don a few different costumes over the course of the series, but based on what we've seen so far, she'll be spending the majority of the show in this early prototype suit.
"There’s a full practical suit," Marvel Television's Brad Winderbaum confirmed during a recent interview. "It doesn’t obviously do all the crazy things that the suit does, but...

2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever did the usual Marvel thing and laid some ground for future projects that had been announced. Other than the sequel establishing Shuri as the new Black Panther, the Ryan Coogler film also introduced a college student who would be taking up the mantle of Tony Stark with her own brand of Iron armor. The setup could lend itself to both the Ironheart show and the planned Armor Wars project, but after some years, the studio is finally set to premiere the series this summer on June 24 on Disney+.
The social media for DiscussingFilm has unveiled the release date as well as posted a couple of new looks at the Ironheart series with some preview images of Riri Williams in her new Iron Man-inspired suit. You can get a look at the newly released images below.

Despite the fact that no one will be able to top Robert Downey Jr. as the MCU’s biggest “Iron” character, Riri Williams is becoming more and more popular as the premiere of the Ironheart miniseries is approaching fast. It is set for a June 24, 2025 premiere on Disney+.
The show has attracted a lot of attention, at times because of the production issues, but now because of the hype that is slowly increasing. In light of that, we are happy to report that Marvel has released some new images highlighting Dominique Thorne in the titular role.

Following some revealing concept art for Avengers: Doomsday and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, some more artwork from Mushk Rizvi's official site appears to confirm that Marvel Studios was planning to move forward with a project focusing on the daughter of Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Morgan (Lexi Rabe), following in her father's footsteps.
The artwork is marked "Iron Man 3000," and shows a teenage/young adult Morgan Stark in a couple of different Iron Man-inspired suits. It looks like an older take on Pepper was also going to feature.
We don't have many details, but it seems Morgan was going to grow up to be a racecar driver (while no doubt fighting crime on the side). There's speculation that the project was being developed as an animated series, but that has not been confirmed.
Of course, the title comes from Morgan telling her father...

Concept art allegedly from Ironheart first did the rounds on social media in late 2022. The supposed leak contained three different designs for Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen's take on Mephisto, all of which were very punk rock-inspired.
While Cohen's villain is expected to be the one pulling The Hood's strings in Ironheart, there have been rumblings about him also factoring into Thunderbolts* (perhaps as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine's ally), Spider-Man 4, and even Avengers: Doomsday.
The only thing is, Cohen may not be playing Mephisto after all.
Making him the source of The Hood's powers seemed an easy way to finally bring a character into the MCU that fans once hoped would be a huge part of WandaVision. From there, the door would be open to Ghost Rider's introduction and so forth, and the Mephisto ball is one we've all run away with over the past few years.

2024 has been a mixed bag for comic book movies, though Deadpool & Wolverine went a long way in making up for the disappointment caused by Joker: Folie à Deux and Kraven the Hunter, for example.
For Marvel Studios, 2025 will still see the release of 10 big and small screen titles both in theaters and on Disney+ (courtesy of Marvel Television and Marvel Animation) as we race towards the end of the Multiverse Saga.
As for DC Studios, it's going to be a slightly more low-key 365 days, though the one movie and TV show we're getting promise to be huge for the new Dcu. Ironheart is believed to have wrapped filming in late 2022. Despite that, we won't see Riri Williams return to the MCU until next summer in a series which promises to combine the worlds of science and magic.
When it comes to why Ironheart has been delayed, we're hoping it's to perfect the show's VFX and avoid the sort of backlash faced by She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's hit-and-miss portrayal of Jennifer Walters' green-skinned alter-ego.
Regardless, a new still has found its way online today that highlights Riri and a practical suit. That design gives off major villain vibes, a likely appropriate decision considering the fact the teenager is expected to break bad in this series after growing frustrated with her lot in life.

Marvel Studios has shared another new look at Wonder Man, one of Marvel Television's most intriguing upcoming projects. Starring Aquaman and Watchmen's Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, we still don't really know what to expect from this one.
However, in some newly released stills, the hero is shown "suited up" and a seemingly tense conversation between Simon and Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings fan-favourite, Trevor Slattery (Sir Ben Kingsley).
Disney's press site confirms that the shot of Simon in the red suit and glasses is from episode 8, Wonder Man's finale.

In the below trailer and screengrabs, Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams is shown working on and piloting her new Ironheart armor, which looks more refined and sleeker than the model she used in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. There is also a new shot of Anthony Ramos' Parker Robbins/The Hood, an old friend of Riri's from Chicago, who looks to have received some damage on the lower left side of his face.

Disney has released a new trailer highlighting a plethora of new shows coming to the Disney+ streaming service next year, and the video includes some new footage from Marvel Studios' Ironheart and Daredevil: Born Again.
The Born Again footage is basically the same as the previously released teaser that did the rounds online after D23, but there is at least one new shot of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) right at the start, and (possibly) a little more of the Man Without Fear in action as he takes down some foes with his signature batons.
The Ironheart promo also reuses some older footage, but we get to see more of Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) - who we first met in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - donning her upgraded armor as well as a new glimpse of Anthony Ramos as the villainous Hood in his civilian attire.

When the character Riri Williams (played by Dominique Thorne) made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut back in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the idea was that we’d be seeing the character again the following year in her own six-episode Disney+ show Ironheart… but 2023 came and went without Ironheart, and the show still doesn’t have an official premiere date. It is expected to come along sometime in 2025, and a trailer was recently shown at the D23 event. It will be a while before we get to see the show’s characters in action, but during a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, cast member Anthony Ramos took a moment to talk about the character he plays in the series: Parker Robbins, a.k.a. The Hood.
Ramos said, “I saw a trailer at D23. We walked onstage, and they played this new trailer of Ironheart, and it was my first time seeing it.

Though fans reportedly have to wait one more year to see Ironheart hit the small screen, one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe show's stars insists the patience will be worth it. Actor Anthony Ramos reveals how "crazy" the Disney+ series is and why it's a must-watch.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Ramos claimed he knew Ironheart was special when he saw the official trailer debut at Disney's D23 expo. I saw a trailer at D23. "We walked onstage, and they played this new trailer of Ironheart, and it was my first time seeing it. And Im not gonna lie, just as a fan, I was like, 'Yo, this is crazy. If this show is half as good as this trailer, we in the mix,' he said. He also praised Dominique Thorne's "incredible" work in the titular lead role.

It's always fun when Marvel Studios takes us to unfamiliar locations and Disney+'s Ironheart will shift the action from New York to Chicago.
Hamilton and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts star Anthony Ramos plays Parker Robbins, a.k.a. The Hood, in the show and tells Entertainment Weekly that the shift to the Second City has resulted in some big changes to the villain's backstory.
Ramos describes Chicago as "a big character" in Ironheart and adds, "Parker Robbins in the comics is from New York, but being able to flip his story and making him from Chicago, we made him from Humboldt Park, which has, obviously, a large Puerto Rican population."
"We created this whole backstory with his mom being from the Young Lords and raising him that way. Chicago plays a huge part in the identity of all of our characters and the identity of this show, so...

We haven't seen Dominque Thorne's Riri Williams since 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the same year Disney+'s Ironheart TV series wrapped production.
There could be any number of reasons for the lengthy delay, including potential story issues and Disney's new quality-over-quantity approach to Marvel Studios content on streaming. Either way, we expect Ironheart to be a major player in the MCU moving forward.
Talking a D23 this weekend, Thorne was asked if she's eager to see Riri square off with Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom (seeing as the actor was the McU's original Iron Man before being cast in a far more villainous role).
"I mean, who wouldn't, right?" she asked. "I think that's again one of the great things about the MCU is that right when you think, 'Oh, we've seen it all,' there is indeed more. And not only is there more, but it's...

Watch out, Iron Man, there’s a new armored superhero in the MCU.
Marvel Studios revealed a sneak peak of the upcoming Disney+ series “Ironheart” for the audience at the D23 Expo on Friday. The show continues the story of Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), who made her MCU debut in 2022’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and the footage was very much in keeping with the aesthetics of that film.
“After my internship abroad, I felt stuck,” Riri says, referring to her time in Wakanda. “I want to build something undeniable.”
To do that, however, she says she needs “cash money,” which leads her to Parker Robbins (Anthony Ramos), who dons a magical hood that gives him access to the dark arts — setting up a clash between him and the scientifically driven Riri. At one point, Parker faces off against Alden Ehrenrich’s character, Joe McGillicuddy.

In 2023, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said that the company would be slowing down its Disney+ TV slate, which included the highly-anticipated "Ironheart" series. The announcement came after the first D23 celebration following the quarantine era of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2022, where a short preview look was shown to an eager audience. It's been two years since the footage of Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) in her solo adventure series was presented to the public and since the character made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," but 2024's D23 event showed our best look at Riri yet.Joining Thorne is "In the Heights" breakout Anthony Ramos, who will play The Hood, alongside "Solo: A Star Wars Story" and "Oppenheimer" star Alden Ehrenreich. Lyric Ross ("This Is Us"), drag queen Shea Couleé, Shakira Barrera ("Glow"), Manny Montana, and Zoe Terakes round out the supporting cast.

Marvel Studios has finally revealed some footage from Ironheart.
Executive producer Ryan Coogler was in the house at the Honda Center in Anaheim alongside the cast, including Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos to debut a first look at the upcoming Disney+ series on Friday night.
After catching audiences up on the events of Black Panther 2, where Thorne’s Riri Williams played in instrumental role in preserving Wakanda, we learn she’s now trying to get out of a creative rut. She’s skipping classes, focusing all her energy — and her university’s resources — on her next project.
“I want to build something undeniable,” she says, moments before she gets expelled from MIT. With no more cash flow, she finds a new way to make money in questionable ways by working with Ramos’ The Hood.

As Marvel Cinematic Universe enthusiasts await new updates on the long-promised Ironheart series, its lead star plugs what fans can expect once it finally debuts. Expect the fallout from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to become a key story point.
Speaking with The Official Marvel Podcast, Ironheart star Dominique Thorne teased the events the Disney+ series will chronicle. According to Thorne, the show explores the aftermath of Wakanda Forever, with her eponymous character, Riri Williams, doing "self-reflection" following the Black Panther sequel's most dramatic moments. "I think its safe to say the things that happened in Wakanda required a lot of self-reflection," she said. "If you start an interspecies war, we might all encourage each other to take a breath, I think we can say that shes taking that to heart and considering what it means to show up in this world and space in the way that she does."

Ironheart Leads Tease Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Fallout And "Complex, Dynamic" Take On The Hood

Ironheart wrapped production way back in November 2022 and we've seen nothing from the Disney+ series since a handful of set photos did the rounds earlier that year.
It's unclear whether the delay is a result of creative issues, a lengthy post-production period due to demanding VFX work, a result of plans to scale back on the McU's yearly output or all of the above.
However, D23 takes place on Friday and we're now expecting a first look at Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again, and more from Agatha All Along. The Official Marvel Podcast recently caught up with the stars of all three shows, so we'd say some big new reveals in Anaheim are likely.
"We actually went straight from Wakanda Forever to filming the series, so I was very, very grateful for that," Riri Williams actress Dominique Thorne said. "It was a smooth transition. This is definitely my first time doing...

While not a protégé of Tony Stark, Riri Williams is also a brilliant tech wiz/inventor who built her own suit of armor with the help of the Wakandans in the film. The character’s spunk and charm made audiences want to see more of her in the MCU.

When the character Riri Williams (played by Dominique Thorne) made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut back in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the idea was that we’d be seeing the character again the following year in her own Disney+ show Ironheart… but 2023 came and went without Ironheart, and the show still doesn’t have an official premiere date. This has caused some fans to speculate that Marvel and Disney+ might have decided to scrap Ironheart, along with the series Wonder Man, which had Yahya Abdul-Mateen II taking on the role of the title character, who is also known as Simon Williams and hasn’t been seen in the MCU yet. But no, Ironheart and Wonder Man are not being scrapped, and in a new interview with Agents of Fandom, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation Brad Winderbaum described the shows as spectacular, amazing, and different.

Marvel fans might be having an extended wait for the Ironheart series, but the good news is maybe that will come with a rise in quality.
Originally planned to be released on Disney+ in early 2023, Ironheart has undergone multiple delays, and it is reportedly expected to be released in the latter half of 2025. For ComicBook.com's Phase Zero podcast, an update on the series was shared by Brad Winderbaum - the head of streaming, TV and animation at Marvel Studios. Winderbaum explained that the show's delays are mostly due to Disney pulling back on the amount of Marvel Studios releases per year, forcing projects in development to have their release dates more spread out. While that creates a painful wait for shows like Ironheart, Winderbaum also teased that the extra time is allowing the studio to make the show even better.
