"I came up with a genuinely original idea. And I'm the only one who's immune to it." Oh this is a good one. O.I. is a new horror short film made by South African filmmaker N'cee Van Heerden (also of Hunter's Cabin). A simple concept perfectly executed. The story is about Barry – played by Ben Cotton – after he wakes up one morning with an incredible new idea. The downside? He's the only person that can handle it. In fact, telling the idea to anyone has devastating effects. Barry may have to face this burden alone – or so he thinks. Also starring Kett Turton, Toby Hargrave, Jennnifer Nicole Stang, and Paul McGillion. The whole thing is a play on how there are no longer any original ideas, and how the moment anyone comes up with a truly unique original idea it blows minds - literally. Pretty accurate, I have to say.

"I just got here now." Sizzle Snap Productions has released an official trailer for a horror short film titled Hunter's Cabin, the latest from South African producer-turned-filmmaker N'Cee Van Heerden. This is his second short following I.O. a few years ago, and before that he worked as a field producer on almost all of Neill Blomkamp's South African films. Now he's based in Vancouver, BC (same as Neill Blomkamp) and has moved into directing his own films. Hunter's Cabin follows a young father who withdraws to a remote cabin to face his curse alone. But he’s not the only one with a dark past in the woods that night. Starring Jedidiah Goodacre, Toby Hargrave, and Sam Spear. This is quite an entrancing tease. No idea when this short film will end up online, but we'll definitely keep an eye out and let you know when it debuts.

CBS All Access’ reimagining of “The Twilight Zone” delivers true anthology storytelling in that each episode is a standalone plot than can be enjoyed all by itself. Once upon a time, you couldn't sneeze in the summer without hitting some sort of made-for-tv movie. Sometimes, they'd be specially made for the purpose of airing. Sometimes, they'd just be unused pilots that happened to be edited into a two-hour block to fill a little airtime. Metallica today announced that their groundbreaking 3D feature film, Metallica Through the Never, directed by award-winning filmmaker Nimr&#243d Antal, will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, digitally, and V.O.D. (Video On Demand) on January 28, 2014 through Blackened Recordings. Formats will include a standard 2-disc package on DVD, Blu-ray, or 3D Blu-ray, as well as special expanded versions. Picturehouse announced today the iconic band, Metallica, will appear for the first time ever at Comic-Con in San Diego with special live performance and Hall H Panel on Friday, July 19 in support of their new 3D feature film, Metallica Through the Never. The band will perform an intimate private concert at a secret location in San Diego.
