The ultimate act of self-sacrifice, there's nothing like a good last stand to get hearts pounding and the audience out of their seats. There's something inimitably romantic about the notion of laying down one's life when confronted with certain death, a courageous refusal to simply lie down and surrender, despite all hope seemingly being lost in the face of impossible odds. Accordingly, it's hardly surprising that these high-stakes, drama-rich sequences make for excellent cinema, with some of the best movies of all time utilizing an evocative last stand to great effect.
There's no set form to a perfect final stand. They've been successfully used across different genres, from the finest war movies of all time to the best sci-fi movies ever made. In some cases, the cavalry arrives to save the day at the last minute, but other last stands can end in considerably more tragic circumstances. From noble instances...

Denzel Washington has had a career spanning over four decades that many actors could only dream of having. Known as one of the most versatile and energetic actors of his era, he can command the screen in a way very few can. Washington has many oscar worthy performances in his catalog. Though he is best known for his starring roles in bigger-budget films, Washington has had many films that defined his career and acting ability that have flown under the radar of some of his fans.
As one of the best actors of all time, Washington plays a key part in every film he appears in, from specialist dramas to high-octane thrillers. Roles like embodying an exasperated father in John Q or portraying a hostage negotiator in Inside Man may not get the critical acclaim of some of his other roles but are just as entertaining and essential as a step in his storied career.

Quick Links 2 Guns Features a Fantastic Dynamic Duo Wahlberg and Washington Are a Perfectly Dynamic Pair
Over 10 years ago, veteran actors Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg joined forces for a buddy-cop comedy of explosive proportions. Part action, part comedy, Washington and Wahlberg paired together in a money-heist action film that, despite its flaws, is wholly entertaining. With two dynamic lead stars, an unlikely partnership, and a premise that takes the best of Lethal Weapon and pairs it with the intimate espionage of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, 2 Guns is an entertaining romp.
2 Guns stars Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg as a pair of criminals working together to rob a bank. Unknown to each other, both of the would-be criminals are undercover law enforcement working on separate operations to take down the leader of a drug cartel. Bobby (Washington) is a smooth-talking DEA agent who wants to convict the cartel leader for tax evasion.

Marvel and DC have both delivered some iconic superhero movies. Examples like "Logan," "Infinity War," and "Into The Spider-Verse" combined critical acclaim & box office success. Superhero films like "The Dark Knight" redefined the genre, setting high standards in storytelling for comic book adaptations.
Comic book movies may receive a little too much flak, but there is no denying that a select few Marvel and DC offerings are nothing short of perfect. Superhero films are more of a mainstay in cinema than they have ever been thanks to some of the most iconic comic book movies launching the genre into the stratosphere. The sheer number that exists today means that creators are under more pressure to deliver some semblance of uniqueness - and these examples certainly deliver.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe remains the most successful movie franchise in history with a total worldwide box office that feels unassailable at this point.

Hugh Jackman's last ride as Wolverine is drawing very near. As Logan looms, it is a very bittersweet time for fans of the X-Men franchise, but at least by most accounts, the character is going out on top. Ever since the first images, which were mostly in black and white, started surfacing online we have all been very encouraged that James Mangold's upcoming Wolverine movie would be the one we've been waiting to see. Speaking of those black and white pictures, it looks like we may actually be getting a full black and white version of the movie in the future.
As it stands, the theatrical release of Logan is going to be in color, but the promotional photos have shown us that this movie could look pretty great in black and white. Quite a few fans think so as well and one of them reached out to...

Set for a release on March 1st, Logan is the latest and last(?) film in the standalone Wolverine movies. Set in the near future, Logan sees an aging Wolverine and Professor X working together to protect a young female clone of Wolverine – aka X-23 from the Marvel comic of the same name – from an evil organization led by Nathanial Essex.
Fox have released a second “clip” from the film, this one seemingly found-footage of X-23 undergoing a medical procedure to give her those Wolverine-esque claws…
Set in the future of 2024, Logan and Professor Charles Xavier must cope with the loss of the X-Men when a corporation lead by Nathaniel Essex is destroying the world leaving it to destruction, with Logan’s healing abilities slowly fading away and Xavier’s Alzheimer’s forcing him to forget. Hugh Jackman is getting ready to hang up the claws after playing Wolverine for nearly two decades, but not before giving fans one last, hopefully excellent adventure in the X-Men universe. 20th Century Fox knows that fans are very eager to see Wolverine's last ride, so they decided to give Logan some ad time during the Super Bowl. Lucky for us, they already dropped the new Logan Super Bowl spot online.
20th Century Fox uploaded the brand new spot for Logan, which will be the third solo Wolverine movie, to their YouTube channel just after it aired as part of the Super Bowl 51 festivities. The video doesn't feature a ton of new footage, but it does condense a lot of the best shots we have seen in previous trailers into a very action-packed, intense and dark tease. They also decided to go the patriotic route, by setting this Super Bowl...

Hugh Jackman is getting ready to hang up the claws as Wolverine, with the upcoming Logan set to be his last movie as the iconic mutant. Well, that is unless Ryan Reynolds can convince him to come back for a Deadpool and Wolverine crossover movie, but at the moment, that doesn't look like it is going to happen. For now, we have to assume that Logan will really be his last time. So, are we finally going to see the classic yellow Wolverine suit? It seems like Hugh Jackman may have just teased exactly that.
The actor recently made a post to his official Twitter account, featuring a Wolverine action figure in the classic yellow suit from the X-Men comics. Hugh Jackman simply captioned the photo with "the original," and let fans do the rest. Given the very subtle way some things are teased these days, it seems very possible...

As you've already seen, Hugh Jackman plays a very different version of Wolverine in Logan than we've seen before. This is definitely the most hardened, gritty, and badass version of the hero yet. In a recent interview with Empire, Jackman and director James Mangold talk about the film and their approach to bringing this older version of Wolverine to the big screen. First Jackman explained how a tip from actor Jim Broadbent helped him remember to be in pain while playing Logan.
“When he was playing older, [Broadbent] would tape a little stone to his heel. I would have that, just to remind myself of a limp. [Logan's] body hurts. His joints hurt. His heart hurts. Psychologically, he’s damaged. What’s the collateral damage of being Wolverine for all those years?”
Mangold went on to talk about his original Logan pitch to the studio describing it as Little Miss Sunshine meets Wolverine.

"She's like you. Very much like you." 20th Century Fox has unveiled a final, incredible full-length trailer for James Mangold's Logan, the final Wolverine movie starring Hugh Jackman as the mutant superhero. Logan is set in 2024 on the Mexican border, following an aging Wolverine and Professor X, played again by Patrick Stewart, as they struggle with mental issues. Also starring Boyd Holbrook, Doris Morgado, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Stephen Merchant and Eriq La Salle, along with Dafne Keen as the young mutant known as X-23. This is Jackman's 9th time playing Wolverine, commonly known as Logan though his original name is James Howlett. This looks seriously badass and gritty and awesome and emotional. I'm excited to catch the film at its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival next month. Until then, fire this up. Here's the final official trailer (+ poster) for James Mangold's Logan, direct from Fox's YouTube: And...

After 17 years, Hugh Jackman’s legacy as Wolverine is coming to an end in the upcoming R-rated film “Logan.” Reprising his role of the sulky X-Man for the ninth and final time, 20th Century Fox has released a new trailer ahead of its March release.
Set in the future, the film follows a weary Logan as he cares for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart) in a hide out on the Mexican border. As Wolverine tries to hide from the world and his X-Man legacy, he meets a young mutant, Laura Kinney (Sienna Novikov), who is being pursued by dark forces.
“Logan” is directed by James Mangold and co-stars Boyd Holbrook, Doris Morgado and Richard E. Grant.

Sadly for fans of the X-Men franchise, Hugh Jackman is getting ready to hang up the claws as Wolverine after nearly two decades playing him. Assuming Ryan Reynolds can't talk him into coming back for a movie with Deadpool, that is. On the plus side, we still have one more standalone Wolverine movie coming in the form of Logan this March, which is easily one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Now, Hugh Jackman has finally revealed the official synopsis for the upcoming Wolverine adventure.
The 48-year-old actor jumped on his Twitter to reveal this first official synopsis for Logan, which is a bit surprising since the movie is coming out in just a couple of months. Similar to much of the rest of the marketing materials for Logan, it is set against the backdrop of a gorgeous black and white, ominous photo from the movie. Here is the synopsis.

Yesterday, the internet just about lost their collective minds when it was reported by The Wrap that Ryan Reynolds had shot a scene for the upcoming Wolverine movie Logan. Sadly, not long after, the creative team behind Logan and Ryan Reynolds himself claimed the report was totally false, crushing fanboy and fangirls hopes and dreams. The important thing is, at least according to Reynolds is that there is a very good reason for it.
The Deadpool star and beloved Canadian took to his Twitter account to clear things up a bit more. He explained that Logan is going to be a great movie, but Deadpool simply doesn't fit the tone and wouldn't naturally make sense in the movie. Here is what he had to say.
"No. I want a Deadpool/Wolvie film. But Logan is its own unique & perfect thing. The Big Red Shit-Talker wouldn't mix with the tone."

Sorry, Deadpool fans. It looks like we aren't going to be getting that reuniting of Deadpool and Wolverine we were hoping for in Logan. Earlier today, a report from The Wrap surfaced, saying that Ryan Reynolds had filmed a scene for the upcoming third solo Wolverine movie, but he and star Hugh Jackman, as well as director James Mangold have all come out and said the news is simply not true.
As one would expect, the news that Wade Wilson would be making an appearance in Logan got fans excited and the news spread like wildfire. Sadly, Ryan Reynolds took to his Twitter account in order to clear things up and declare that these reports are indeed false. Here is what he had to say in response to a fan who was excited about the potential to see Deadpool show up in Logan.
"Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission.

Updated: Since this story broke, both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have gone on Twitter to call this story 100% false. Logan director James Mangold has also chimed in saying this cameo is not happening. But we should also point out that Hugh Jackman lied about not having a cameo in X-Men: Apocalypse before it came out. And the filmmakers often swear up and down that these stories are false when they are in fact true.
Original Story: Unfortunately for fans of the X-Men franchise, Hugh Jackman is just about done playing Wolverine. The good news is Logan is coming out next year, which is his third and final solo Wolverine movie. As excited as fans are about the movie already, they may have reason to get even more excited, because it looks like Deadpool has a cameo in Logan.
The news comes courtesy of The Wrap, who reveal that Ryan Reynolds...

Sadly, Hugh Jackman is getting ready to hang up the claws and is all but finished playing Wolverine in the X-Men franchise. The good news is that we are getting one final movie from him in the form of Logan, which is coming out in just a few months. Now, Hugh Jackman has shared a brand new, gorgeous poster for the upcoming third and final solo Wolverine movie.
Hugh Jackman shared the new poster on his Twitter with the simple caption of "sunset," along with the movie's title and release date. An appropriate caption, since it simply features Logan walking away from a beautifully lit sunset with his claws popped, looking like he is either heading to or from some seriously bitter action. It may be simple, but it is certainly effective. He also shared a photo of the same image being painted on the side of a building in California,...

2016 was nothing if not an interesting year for superhero movies, but there were definitely some serious bright spots. Sadly, X-Men: Apocalypse didn't quite live up to the hype, so fans will have to look ahead to next year with Logan, which will be the third solo Wolverine movie in the X-Men franchise, and Hugh Jackman's final turn as the character. Now, he has shared another new image from the upcoming movie online.
The beloved Australian actor took to his Twitter account in order to deliver a bit of a belated Christmas gift for Wolverine fans in the form of a new, color image from Logan. The only reason it is worth mentioning that it is a color image is because many of the images that Fox has shared from the movie have been in black and white. Outside of it being color, it doesn't offer much that we haven't already seen,...

The marketing team for Logan simply won't stop. We have only seen a single, albeit awesome, teaser trailer for Hugh Jackman's final Wolverine movie, but we are starting to lose track of the images that are being released. Not that anyone is complaining, because we just got a new look at a villain in Logan.
The image was posted to the official Instagram account for Logan and features a metal hand draped over a car door. We also saw a similar looking metal hand in the teaser trailer that belonged to Boyd Holbrook, who is playing the villain Donald Pierce in the movie. Our best guess is that this metal hand belongs to him, but it could also belong to one of the Reavers, a group of villains in the movie who are dedicated to destroying mutants and are part cyborg, so they will also likely have metal arms.

"Charles, the world is not the same as it was..." 20th Century Fox has unveiled the first teaser trailer for James Mangold's new Wolverine movie, titled Logan, with Hugh Jackman playing the mutant superhero one last time. This is Jackman's 9th time playing Wolverine, commonly known as Logan though his original name is James Howlett, and this time they're sending him out on the "Old Man Logan" storyline. This is set in 2024 and follows aging Wolverine and Professor X, played again by Patrick Stewart, as they struggle with mental issues. Also starring Boyd Holbrook, Doris Morgado, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Stephen Merchant and Eriq La Salle. I love the look of Jackman as "Old Man Logan", all grizzled with the beard. This looks like it should be an exquisite grand finale for Wolvie, glad to see them going all in with this story. Here's the first teaser trailer (+ poster) for James Mangold's Logan,...

Stars: John Travolta, Christopher Meloni, Rebecca De Mornay, Amanda Schull, Sam Trammell, Doris Morgado, Luis Da Silva Jr., Patrick St. Esprit | Written by Yvan Gauthier, Paul Sloan | Directed by Chuck Russell
Anyone remember From Paris With Love? Director Pierre Morel followed up the 2008 Liam Neeson hit Taken with a similarly enjoyable, although less critically well received, action movie in 2010 which starred a shaven headed John Travolta as Charlie Wax. And while it was less successful and entertaining than Taken, From Paris With Love was still good fun.
So in theory then, given Travolta is – or at least was – capable of convincingly taking part in a action movie I had reasonable expectations for his latest film I Am Wrath. And then there’s the crew involved: directed by Chuck Russell whose past works include Eraser, The Mask, and The Blob; and starring Rebecca De Mornay and Christopher Meloni, I honestly thought...
