Few athletes have lived a life as dramatic as George Foreman. The legendary professional, boxer, entrepreneur, minister, and author, isn’t just a heavyweight champion but a man who reinvented himself many times and never gave up no matter what challenges he faced. A dominant force in the world of boxing and sports, he made several unlikely decisions just when the world thought they had figured him out, leaving spectators surprised.

"Cold Pursuit" takes place in the fictional town of Kehoe, Colorado, but was primarily filmed in Alberta, Canada, due to its similarities in snowy, mountainous conditions. British Columbia, Canada, was also chosen as a filming location, with Vancouver serving as one of the primary cities for filming. Norway was potentially used as a filming location, although it is unclear which scenes were captured there. The choice makes sense, given the snowy setting and the director's ties to the country.
The title of Cold Pursuit does not bury the lede regarding the story's setting — it takes place in the snowy terrain of Colorado in the United States, but the movie's production was located a little farther north. The 2019 action thriller film stars Liam Neeson as Nels Coxman, a snowplow driver who works at a ski resort, and revolves around Nels' revenge plot following the murder of his son by a drug cartel.

Across a career that spanned four decades and saw him earn two heavyweight titles and a gold medal at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, George Foreman cemented his legacy as one of the greatest boxers of all time. But despite having one of the most remarkable stories in sporting history to work with, Big George Foreman manages to stumble sluggishly from one chapter in his life to the next in a way that’s neither insightful nor entertaining.
George Tillman Jr.’s film plays out largely as a by-the-numbers biopic, charting Foreman’s rise from a troubled Texas youth to a title-winning boxer, then a born-again preacher, then a title-winning boxer again. Khris Davis, previously seen testing out his pugilistic skills on poor Donald Glover in Atlanta, plays Big George from the end of his teenage years to his remarkable comeback as the world’s oldest-ever heavyweight champion at the age of 45.

So often thought of primarily as the big lug who was so dramatically dispatched by Muhammad Ali in the famous “Rumble in the Jungle” in Zaire in 1974, George Foreman is the main event in Big George Foreman. While there is plenty of boxing here to satisfy sports fans, the film is mild-mannered and genial to a fault as it charts the life of a dirt-poor Texas kid with a devastating punch whose public image transformed over the years from hulking bogeyman to that of a good-natured businessman and man of God.
Ali was such a commanding, entertaining and (mostly) adored worldwide figure, from his emergence as the self-anointed “greatest” to his ultimate status as one of the most beloved and admired men on the planet, that it isn’t easy to watch him take a back seat here to a younger but less charismatic figure onscreen. Sony has offered up the first wave of marketing for their upcoming George Foreman biopic, namely a trailer, a poster and a release date.
“Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World” will debut theatrically on April 28, 2023, occupying the pre-summer slot that in previous years was home to “He Got Game,” “Obsessed” and “Keanu.” In 2023, that any studio is slotting anything resembling a big movie is a sign of a return to sanity within the theatrical ecosystem.
Directed by George Tillman Jr. and starring Khris Davis as Foreman, “Big George Foreman” stems from a story by Dan Gordon and Frank Baldwin and Goerge Tillman Jr. And a screenplay from Baldwin and Tillman.

Boxing movies tend to be pretty great fodder for a harrowing feel-good story. Even people who don't give a damn about boxing otherwise would be hard-pressed not to cheer by the end of "Rocky" or "Cinderella Man." Sure, there is the occasional dark boxing tale, such as "Raging Bull," that makes for equally -- if not more -- compelling cinema. Today though brings us what appears to be an underdog story, and a familiar one for many fans of the sport, as the trailer for "Big George Foreman" is here. Or, to be more specific regarding the title, "Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World." And yes, they did put all of that on the poster.
In any case, this is the tale of George Foreman and, more specifically, his wildly unlikely comeback story as a boxer advanced in his years.

The official trailer has dropped for the George Foreman biopic, titled “Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World,” from director George Tillman Jr. It explores the life of the legendary boxer turned minister. Forest Whitaker portrays Doc Broadus, the boxer’s longtime trainer who introduced him to the sport, while Khris Davis will portray Foreman. Sullivan Jones will play Muhammad Ali, as the two boxers had iconic bouts during their careers, including the Rumble in the Jungle match in Zaire.
The biopic will follow Foreman’s boxing career highlights, including when he obtained Olympic Gold at the 1968 Mexico City Games and his world heavyweight champion run. Outside of his boxing career, the narrative will cover Foreman finding his faith, retiring and becoming a preacher. Finally, it will document his return to the ring at the age of 45 when his family and church faces financial hardship.

As Warner Bros attempts to shake up their whole content creation with DC films, only some schedule shifts are happening with Sony Pictures, according to Deadline. One of their biggest moves is pushing the Adam Driver sci-fi actioner, 65, back to the same weekend as Shazam: Fury of the Gods. The studio has faith that the movie will be able to compete with the DC superhero and gets pushed back so the latest Scream film can perform as best as can.
The plot synopsis for 65 reads, “After a catastrophic crash on an unknown planet, pilot Mills (Driver) quickly discovers he’s actually stranded on Earth…65 million years ago. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive. Sam Raimi produces. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods wrote A Quiet Place.

Cold Pursuit is the latest revenge fueled epic from action icon Liam Neeson, and it brings plenty of excitment, thrills and some very dark humor to the genre. The movie is available today on Digital, and we have an emotional deleted scene that features Liam Neeson and his on-screen wife played by Laura Dern. Though it's no longer in the movie, it actually offers some insight into the dark and twisted tale behind Cold Pursuit.
This deleted scene shows Laura Dern as Grace, who is feeling guilt over her son's death. She blames herself for his drug addition, and pours her stash down the toilet. Which is quite upsetting for Liam Neeson's character, and you cn tell he is not going to let this stand. The exclusive deleted scene is from today's Digital release of the movie, with the Blu-ray hitting on May 14th. For those of you who can't...

Liam Neeson stars as a grizzled snow plough driver on a bloody revenge spree in Hans Petter Moland’s English-language remake of his 2014 Norwegian thriller, In Order of Disappearance. As such, Moland sticks closely to the template of his original film (even the running times are identical), but some of the jet-black humour appears to have been lost in translation.
Neeson plays Nels Coxman, a humble snow plough driver in Kehoe, who’s recently been voted Citizen of the Year. When his adult son Kyle is killed by a vicious drug gang, Nels embarks on a violent revenge quest, murdering his way up the Kehoe crime hierarchy until he has druglord Trevor “Viking” Calcote (Tom Bateman) in his sights. The First Purge filmmaker Gerard McMurray has boarded Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming hitman tale The Silver Bear as writer and producer. The Silver Bear reunites Jordan and McMurray who previously worked together on the 2013 critically acclaimed Sundance Grand Jury/Audience Award winning Fruitvale Station with the latter as an Associate Producer. McMurray’s The First Purge became the highest grossing pic in the Universal/Blumhouse franchise with close to $137M Ww. He also directed Netflix’s Burning Sands and is aboard the new Twilight Zone series. The Silver Bear is a film adaptation of Derek Haas’ best-seller about Columbus (Jordan), the most feared and respected hitman in the criminal underworld. The series of novels was optioned by Nickel City Pictures, who hired Frank Baldwin to adapt the first book and attached Jordan to star and produce before bringing the package to Lionsgate. Warner Bros.’ “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” is likely to lead the pack at the box office in its debut with an estimated $31 million from 4,303 North American locations.
While the animated adventure pic is still coming out well ahead of the next-highest projected earner for the weekend, the latest estimates for the fourth film in the Lego franchise are significantly below earlier tracking, which had forecasted a debut in the $50 million range. “The Lego Movie 2” took in $8.5 million on Friday.
Chris Pratt stars as the voice of Emmet Brickowski and new character Rex Dangervest. Elizabeth Banks, Alison Brie, Will Arnett, Charlie Day, Nick Offerman and Will Ferrell reprise their roles from earlier Lego films, with Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, and Maya Rudolph joining the cast as new characters. Call it Taken on Ice, call it Mr. Plow: The Movie, call it “Neeson and Chill.” But whatever you dub Cold Pursuit, starring Liam Neeson as a father out for revenge — don’t confuse it with grim business as usual. After starring in three films in which his character’s “very particular set of set of skills” get put to good use, plus four other films that could fit the same bill (Unknown, Non-Stop, Run All Night and The Commuter), the 66-year-old actor approaches this snowbound thriller with tongue firmly in cheek.

Just as we were reaching peak exhaustion with Liam Neeson kicking ass, along comes something fresh and new. Once upon a time, Taken showcased the dramatic actor as an action hero. Myriad sequels and knockoffs later, there didn’t seem like there was much more to do with Neeson in the genre. He’d even suggested he was done. Luckily, Cold Pursuit spits in the face of those films. Brutal, dark, and often hilarious, it’s the deranged offshoot that shows how effective the use of Neeson in violent fare can still be. Give him an R rating, black comedy to mix in, and the result is one of the year’s best so far. The movie is a remake of the foreign flick In Order of Disappearance from 2014. Here, the action has been transplanted from Norway to Kehoe, Colorado. Nels Coxman (Neeson) is a quiet family man and dedicated worker.

Director Hans Petter Moland’s Norwegian black comedy, 2014’s In Order of Disappearance, didn’t get a huge amount of attention on release, certainly not in the UK or Us.
As popular as it was with those who did see it, garnering comparisons to the likes of Fargo, it’s likely the quirky humour didn’t carry over to mainstream audiences, even with the McU’s Stellan Skarsgard in the lead role.
In this remake, Skarsgard makes way for Liam Neeson, who plays Nels Coxman, a snowplow driver in a snowy resort town by the Rocky Mountains. His job is pretty simple – to keep the main artery road clear for tourists and townsfolk to get to and from the nearby city.
It’s a job that earns him the local Citizen Of The Year accolade, but his sleepy life, holed up in a log cabin with his wife Grace (Laura Dern...

The writer of Hans Petter Moland?s Cold Pursuit, Frank Baldwin feels that actor Liam Neeson is perfect for the character of Nels in the film. The writer says that the actor was really able to get under the skin of his character. "Liam is perfect for Nels. He has the quality... Nels is a solitary guy and Liam was really able to embody that. He's a guy who spends most of his time alone in the mountains and that's ok with him, he likes it. He is a guy that's not gonna mess with anybody unless somebody messes with him and he's a guy who is more or less satisfied with his life until he loses his son. And then as we mentioned, he's able to take the road not taken and embrace the harder side of his personality that he'd spent a whole life locked away from. And...

Cold Pursuit is not Taken. It’s not any of Liam Neeson’s action-thrillers, and it’s not trying to be. If anything, Cold Pursuit, Hans Petter Moland’s adaptation of his 2014 Norwegian film In Order of Disappearance, is a parody of the revenge film that has little patience for characterization or relationships. Rather than dive into the interior lives of its characters, Cold Pusuit relishes the thinnest of motivations to rack up a body count. Moland and screenwriter Frank Baldwin revel in the absurdity of the revenge movie, and they make the most of poking fun at …...

Liam Neeson’s annual winter bloodbath has some unexpected quirks. But is that enough to warm viewers towards it?
For much of the last decade, it’s become an annual January/February ritual: a crime thriller starring Liam Neeson slips into theaters during what is usually one of the most barren corridors of the year in terms of cinematic quality. This all started back in 2008 with Taken, which became such a monster hit that studios have been trying variations on the same theme ever since -- Neeson as an everyman/cop/government agent (retired or otherwise) who finds himself up against an extraordinarily dangerous killer/plot/conspiracy and must use his wits/common sense/special skills to survive and win.

Revenge is a dish best served cold — ice cold in the case of the snowplow operator turned vigilante played by Liam Neeson in Hans Petter Moland’s “Cold Pursuit.” This remake of his Norwegian crime-thriller “Kraftidioten” (released stateside as “In Order of Disappearance”) about a father avenging his son allows Moland to join the ranks of directors like Michael Haneke (“Funny Games”), George Sluizer (“The Vanishing”), and Takashi Shimizu (“The Grudge”), all of whom made English-language versions of their own foreign-language features.
Moland’s offering, however, finds renewed vigor within the additional changes and tonal adjustments. By pumping up the darkly comedic undertones, augmenting the frigid chill of the original, Moland’s terrific, riveting noir-tinged picture distinguishes itself from other rote, reductive remakes.

Snowplows were intended to travel in only one direction at a time, but the makers of “Cold Pursuit” have bigger intentions in mind, attempting to meld intense action and dark comedy with a distinct Coen Brothers flavor. If the cold weather and heavy machinery weren’t enough to bring “Fargo” to mind, one of this movie’s many over-the-top deaths involves a snowblower doing to someone what a woodchipper did in that earlier film.
And while director Hans Petter Moland’s remake of his own film “In Order of Disappearance” (Frank Baldwin adapts the original screenplay by Kim Fupz Aakeson) may fall short of its goals, it’s hard not to admire the film’s ambitions — and certain scenes, performances and even one-liners — even as its flaws start piling up.

Michael B. Jordan has signed on to a new action thriller called The Silver Bear. He will play a deadly assassin named Columbus and it’s based on the book series by Wanted and 3:10 to Yuma screenwriter Derek Haas.
The film is set up at Lionsgate and they are hoping that this will be a successful franchise for them. The script for the film was written by Frank Baldwin (The Godmother, Hard Powder) and it tells the formative story of a man who becomes the most feared and respected hit man in the criminal underworld.

The Silver Bear will see Michael B. Jordan star as an elite assassin in what could become a film franchise.
Michael B. Jordan might just be on the verge of giving Dwayne Johnson a run for his money as Hollywood’s most ubiquitous action film star. The actor has nabbed a starring role in another prospective action franchise, having just been cast in a Lionsgate film adaptation of the popular novel series, The Silver Bear.
Jordan's casting in The Silver Bear, as reported by Deadline, will see Jordan star as a shadowy assassin who calls himself Columbus but is known as a bit of a boogeyman in the Russian criminal underworld as the assassin, the Silver Bear. The film is based on the initial entry in the novel series of author Derek Haas, who also wrote the screenplays for films like Wanted, 3:10 to Yuma (2007), 2 Fast 2 Furious and Invincible.

Michael B. Jordan will star in and produce Lionsgate’s film adaptation of assassin story “The Silver Bear.”
A director has not yet been attached to the project, announced Wednesday. “The Silver Bear” is based on the book series by Derek Haas, the screenwriter for “Wanted” and “3:10 to Yuma.” The novel centers on an assassin named Columbus — called the Silver Bear by some — who tracks a powerful politician with presidential aspirations. Frank Baldwin (“The Godmother”) wrote the script.
“’The Silver Bear’ is the kind of story that needs to be experienced on the big screen and Michael is the perfect movie star to inhabit the skin of this dynamic character and take us into the cinematic world of Columbus,” said Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chairman Joe Drake. “We’re incredibly honored that Michael and Nickel City chose Lionsgate to partner with in bringing this exciting property to life.”
