Christopher Nolan isn't the kind of director to rest on his laurels for too long. With production officially underway on The Odyssey, fans are working their way through his back catalog, and it's Nolan's last movie that has become a streaming hit almost two years after it was initially released. The film in question is none other than Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy. You may remember it as the film that had a weird feud with Greta Gerwig's Barbie, caused Cillian Murphy to nearly emaciate himself for the leading role, or won almost every Oscar last year. However Nolan's R-rated biopic about one of the most important men in modern history lingers in your brain, it might be time to revisit the 3 hour+ epic, as it's currently a hit on streaming.
Oppenheimer is currently streaming on Netflix, and is flying up the streamer's top 10 most popular films of the week list.

Fans of Gilmore Girlsappreciate the show for the funny back-and-forth, witty banter between Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham). The charming small-town atmosphere of Stars Hollow feels immersive and welcoming. From Luke's Diner to Kim's Antiques, every business seems like a place that viewers would want to visit. The residents of Star's Hollow, meanwhile, are quirky, interesting, and above all, fully realized. The wit, the charm, the characters...Bunheads shares all of what made Gilmore Girls such an incredible show. It was even created by the same person: Amy Sharman-Palladino.
Bunheads explored themes of growing up and finding one's place in the world. It took its characters seriously, giving them sharp dialogue and interesting arcs.It only ran for 18 episodes in 2012 on ABC Family before it was canceled due to poor ratings. There are many amazing cult TV shows that only aired for one season, and Bunheads should be included among them.

Airing for seven seasons, Younger stars Sutton Foster as Liza, a forty-year-old mother recently separated from her husband who realizes she has put her dreams on hold to live a small family life in the suburbs. When she takes a shot at an entry-level job at a publishing house in New York City, everything changes. Also starring Hilary Duff and Nico Tortorella, this show had the laughs, the acting chops, and the fashion sense to remain successful. It ended up airing on TV Land, Paramount+, and Hulu before finally ending things.
After Younger wrapped up after seven successful seasons, fans missed seeing what adventures Liza is having. While there was a Kelsey spin-off series in the works starring Hilary Duff with Darren Star still in control, that all ended when Duff chose to move on to star in the How I Met Your Mother spinoff, How I Met Your Father.

The world has changed drastically over the years, giving people the freedom and empowerment they need to be their true selves. With all its prestige, it's hard to think of a greater movie for an actor to be cast in than Oppenheimer, even if it's a relatively small part, like Jackie Oppenheimer. Christopher Nolan's three-hour, R-rated historical epic about the making of the atomic bomb was a box-office juggernaut in 2023, raking in nearly $1 billion worldwide. Winning seven awards at the 2024 Oscars, Oppenheimer notably took home the coveted Best Picture while Nolan picked up his first Academy Award for Best Director. Though nominating every great acting performance would be impossible, Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. won for theirs.
Because Oppenheimer has such an extensive cast, it was sometimes difficult for the supporting parts to get a lot of screen time. This is true for talented actors like future Superman, David Dastmalchian, Dane DeHaan, Alex Wolff, and Emma Dumont, who briefly played Jackie Oppenheimer. Though she isn't explored in much detail during the film,...

Christopher Nolan is getting a big endorsement for Oppenheimer from Paul Schrader who is praising his latest film.
In a post on Facebook, the Taxi Driver screenwriter and American Gigolo director shared a photo alongside Nolan giving high marks to the movie about the atomic bomb.
“Oppenheimer. The best, most important film of this century,” Schrader wrote. “If you see one film in cinemas this year it should be Oppenheimer. I’m not a Nolan groupie but this one blows the doors off the hinges.”
Oppenheimer has already been getting positive reactions from film critics following its multiple screenings.
The film stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist credited as the “father of the atomic bomb.” The film is directed and written by Nolan and is based on “American Prometheus” by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

In a split ruling today, a state appeals court panel reinstated a grant of parole for former Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten, overturning an earlier decision by Gov. Gavin Newsom to block her release.
Tuesday’s decision does not automatically mean Van Houten will be released. The state could still appeal the ruling to the California Supreme Court. Neither the governor’s office nor the state Attorney General’s Office immediately returned a message seeking comment.
Van Houten, now 73, is serving a potential life prison sentence for taking part in the killings of Leno and Rosemary Labianca in their Los Feliz home more than 50 years ago.
The Manson killings shook Los Angeles and defined a generation. The story of the Manson family has inspired countless shows and films, including, most recently, Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Victoria Pedretti played a character called “Lulu” in the film,...

Christopher Nolan kicked off Universal’s CinemaCon presentation today in Las Vegas, taking the stage to talk about his thriller Oppenheimer, which releases in July. Cillian Murphy stars as the titular J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist whose work on the Manhattan Project led to the creation of the atomic bomb.
“I’m here with a story in the story of J Robert Oppenheimer,” Nolan said. “I know of no more dramatic tale with higher stakes, twists and turns and ethical dilemmas. … The finest minds in the country were in a desperate race against the Nazis to harness the power of the atom in World War II. Picture those same minds realizing the possibility that they might set fire to the entire world, yet they went ahead and pushed the button. I wanted to be there and see what that might be like.”

It follows a charismatic personal injury lawyer famous for his impressive track record and loudly unconventional approach who decides to help a funeral home owner save his family business from a predatory corporate behemoth. In a move to bring emotional resonance to a dry contract law case, the lawyer digs up an unexpected and complex web of race, power and oppression that forces everyone to examine long-buried prejudices they didn’t know they had.
Details with regard to the character Slaughter is playing have not been disclosed.

At this point, it seems like it's easier to start listing all of the Hollywood actors not cast in Christopher Nolan's WWII drama, "Oppenheimer." For those keeping score at home, the cast "Oppenheimer" already includes Cillian Murphy, Florence Pugh, Kenneth Branagh, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, Jason Clarke, Benny Safdie, Rami Malek, Jack Quaid, Michael Angarano, Josh Peck, Josh Hartnett, Dane DeHaan, James D'Arcy, Matthias Schweighöfer, Alden Ehrenreich, Matthew Modine, David Dastmalchian, David Krumholtz, Scott Grimes, Devon Bostick, Emma Dumont, Dylan Arnold, and a partridge in a pear tree. I swear, the cast of "Oppenheimer" is so...

To say that remakes suck is very easy to say. There are plenty of examples to show just how classics should not be touched. Remakes have their place in the world of film though, and help new people discover films they never knew existed. Then a movie comes along like Wrong Turn that makes the brave step of being different and being surprisingly good.
A group of friends hiking on the Appalachian Trail take a wrong turn and find themselves in trouble. A few week later one of the friend’s fathers takes the same trail to find out what happened to her…
My synopsis of the film is brief and not highly informative for a point, and that is that this is a movie you really need to go into cold.

The new Wrong Turn reboot takes many wrong turns, using its prolific title as a sign post for what resides ahead. This is not the Wrong Turn you know. And some may say it resembles the iconic horror franchise in name only. Be warned, Director Mike P. Nelson is not interested in giving us bloodthirsty backwoods mutants with a taste for human flesh. His new revisionist take on the material is grounded in pain-soaked reality, creating something unique within the slasher genre. We recently caught up with the filmmaker and members of his cast to discuss this completely stripped-down reimagining of a classic, which has been rebuilt almost entirely from scratch.
Backwoods terror and never-jangling suspense meet when Jen (Charlotte Vega) and a group of friends set out to hike the Appalachian Trail. Despite warnings to stick to the trail, the hikers stray off course, and cross into land inhabited by The Foundation,...

I never thought I would miss those inbred hillbilly freaks as much as I do right now…
Back in 2003, director Rob Schmidt and writer Alan B. McElroy dropped Wrong Turn on the world and took the “lost in the woods” horror drama to the next level. Introducing us to Three-Fingers, Saw-Tooth and One-Eye, West Virginia’s newest favorite family. Wrong Turn would also cement Eliza Dushku and Desmond Harrington as would be stars. I, honestly, bloody love that first movie and found it genuinely scary at the time, yeah it spawned about seven hundred and thirty three sequels that all pretty much sucked in comparison but they have remained a guilty pleasure in part due to my love of that original movie.

It will be news to most that Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort was released back in 2014. The cannibal caper was so exhausted that just one critic slated it on Rotten Tomatoes – no one else could be bothered. It appeared to be the series’ swan song, adding a final 90 minutes to what had become a slideshow of murder, with characters and narrative a total afterthought. Instead, the filmmakers explored what it looks like when you drill someone’s torso with a garden auger, or how much blood sprays when you run them over with a snow blower. For Wrong Turn 6, director Valeri Milev made his mark on the oeuvre by showing what happens when you perform a colonoscopy with a fire hose, riffing on the petrol pump meets human esophagus moment in 2011’s Inbred.
What next for a series that has done it all? To continue killing people with garden tools...

"Descendants of these people are still living up their on the mountain?" Signature Entertainment in the UK has released a new UK trailer for the backwoods horror thriller titled Wrong Turn, from filmmaker Mike P. Nelson. We featured the full US trailer a month ago. Technically speaking, this is actually the seventh film in the Wrong Turn franchise, despite the same title. This time around, friends hiking the Appalachian Trail are confronted by "The Foundation", a cult community of killers who have lived in the mountains for hundreds of years. Suddenly under siege, Jen and her group of friends seem headed right to the point of no return. Starring Charlotte Vega, Adain Bradley, Bill Sage, Emma Dumont, Dylan McTee, Daisy Head, Tim DeZarn, as well as Matthew Modine. This is a much better trailer than the other one, way more intense and more footage of the freaky stuff that happens in the woods.

After 18 years, the Wrong Turn franchise returns to theaters for one night only later this month. 2003’s cult classic starring Eliza Dushku spawned a total of five straight-to-dvd sequels over the next decade or so, with the last one coming out in 2014. Now, the horror series is being rebooted with 2021’s simply titled Wrong Turn, featuring an all-new cast and an all-new threat but some familiar hallmarks from earlier films.
With the reboot debuting on the big screen on January 26th, IGN has released our first clip from the flick this week. The minute-long sneak peek drops us right in the midst of the action as a group of unsuspecting young folks on a nature hike find themselves thrown into danger as a giant log is rolled down the hill after them. Though they scamper to get away, one of them is unfortunately caught in its path.

"We don't bother them, and they don't bother us." Saban Films has released an official trailer for an indie backwoods horror thriller titled Wrong Turn, from filmmaker Mike P. Nelson. Not to be confused with an entirely separate horror franchise also known as Wrong Turn - though this is actually the seventh film in that very franchise. The original title is Wrong Turn: The Foundation, but they went with that trend of "let's just use the title of the original film all over again." This time around, friends hiking the Appalachian Trail are confronted by "The Foundation", a community of killers who have lived in the mountains for hundreds of years. In 2003, a group of friends took a Wrong Turn on a back-road and ran into a group of cannibalistic inbred mountain men. After almost 20 years, the Wrong Turn franchise is returning to theaters. 2003’s Eliza Dushku-fronted slasher flick became a sleeper hit that spawned five – yes, five – straight-to-dvd sequels. The last installment released back in 2014, but the series has been rebooted now and you can catch the seventh entry next month.
In 2021’s Wrong Turn, Charlotte Vega stars as Jen, who embarks on a hike along the Appalachian Trail with her friends. Unfortunately, and despite dire warnings to stick to the path, the gang soon veers off course and crosses into the land belonging to The Foundation, a hidden community of mountain dwellers who will protect their way of life at any cost. Will Jen’s father (Stranger Things star Matthew Modine) be able to reach them in time?

Saban Films has revealed the first trailer for the Wrong Turn reboot which was formerly known as Wrong Turn: The Foundation. The horror franchise has been going strong since the original hit theaters in 2003. It inspired a series of five sequels but the series has been dormant since 2014. No longer. The horror is heading back to the woods for a new round of cannibalistic craziness. And it will be getting a limited engagement on the big screen.
There is no word on how soon the movie will be made available digitally but those who are feeling eager to see the return of the franchise will have the chance to do so in theaters for one night only. Saban Films has announced a partnership through Fathom Events that will bring Wrong Turn to theaters for a special one-night event on Tuesday, January 26. Since the first one came out in 2003, we've seen six movies released in the Wrong Turn franchise (with Joe Lynch's Wrong Turn 2: Dead End still one of my favorite horror sequels ever), and early next year the cannibal franchise will be rebooted with a new Wrong Turn, which is teased in its official trailer ahead of its January release.

The Wrong Turn reboot is one important step closer to becoming a reality. The latest entry in the horror franchise comes from director Mike P. Nelson, with a script from franchise creator Alan B. McElroy. While no release date has been firmed up, the movie is in the can and ready to go as the MPAA has handed out an official R-rating to the movie. And it is going to be a bloody affair.
According to the MPAA, the new Wrong Turn will be "Rated R for strong bloody violence, grisly images and pervasive language." This looks to be right in line with what viewers have come to expect from the franchise over the years. A poster was previously shared with the title Wrong Turn: The Foundation. Syfy fantasy series “The Magicians,” about a group of college students who travel through time and worlds to battle wildly imaginative creatures, draws to a close April 1 after five seasons, having taken viewers on a Harry Potter-meets-video-game thrill ride. Knowing that this is the end of the run gives MastersFX founder and president Todd Masters and his team one last chance to showcase the program’s most popular characters — using their own magic to deliver the makeup effects.
Series creators Sera Gamble and John McNamara had specific ideas about what they wanted in the show’s seven so-called questing creatures, which, when discovered, must grant the magician a wish that helps fulfill a quest. For instance, Sir Effingham (played by Sean Maguire) is half man, half pig, and he looks a bit like Benjamin Franklin.

Next year's Wrong Turn remake has gotten its first official poster along with a new title. As shown on the poster, the upcoming reboot will be called Wrong Turn: The Foundation. Otherwise, the black-and-white poster doesn't reveal much else, bearing only the silhouette of a broken pair of antlers. This goes in line with the new villains of the series, as some are listed on IMDb with names like Deer Skull, Ram Skull, and Wild Board Skull. It's just enough to make big fans of the series excited for the franchise's return to theaters, which will be happening sometime in 2020, although an exact release date still has yet to be revealed.
As previously reported, Wrong Turn: The Foundation will be a complete reboot of the franchise with no apparent connections to the movies in the series to come before it. Before this debut poster, we got a Wrong Turn reboot...

That's a wrap on the Wrong Turn remake, as the upcoming horror movie has finished shooting in Ohio. Over the weekend, director Mike P. Nelson took to Instagram to let his followers know the movie has completed filming and is now headed into the editing process. Along with a photo of the set with a bloody hand in the foreground, here's what Nelson said in the caption of the image.
"The last three months have been absolutely insane. I can't wait to show you all what we have been creating. Movie #2 blessed me yet again with such an amazing crew and a cast that carried the weight of this beast. Long nights in the woods, moldy caverns, moss covered boulders and skulls was our world for the hasty and dense 26 day shoot.
This project was also special as it reunited me with my good friend, Dp and collaborator Nick Junkersfeld.
