College kids run around a cemetery on Hallowe'en and a girl falls into an open grave and lands on a Db. Jo (Sela Ward) comments, "It's not often you find a Db where it actually belongs." Mac (Gary Sinise) claims he was dead before he got here. Flack (Eddie Cahill) is canvassing the area for a murder weapon and Jo asks, "expecting the dead to speak." The Db was hit before the fall. Nice moment between Jo and Flack that's what gives this show so much more in terms of character development and why it deserves to continue. That and great storylines. Oh okay I've had my rant at the beginning, never mind! The Db has four phones on him, which Flack calls overkill Mac: "...so does dying in somebody else's grave." Fisher (David Burke) is responsible for the cemetery and claims he isn't trained to handle this kind of death,...

Women work-out at a gym. That was a conspicuous gym, who'd want to work out displaying themselves to any old pervert or weirdo. Not to mention voyeurism! And it was on the ground floor too, that's just inviting trouble. A man outside watches a woman leave and follows her. A 911 call is made reporting a murder about to occur right now, by what sounds like a man, at first. That voice was too mechanical, emotionless and monotone to be an actual voice. Instead of a dead woman, as we'd expect to have been found, it turns out to be a dead man. He was "beaten, bound and gagged, shot three times - it's about to happen..." Flack (Eddie Cahill) reports the call was made at 11pm by an unidentified caller. Mac (Gary Sinise) comments every Vic of the Prospect Park rapist was found within a mile of where the Db was dumped.

This new season 7 episode opens where it left off last season, with Shane Casey (Edward Furlong) holding Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) and their baby at gun point in their home. This was Lindsay's (Anna Belknap) attempt to play 'macho woman', now that Stella (Melina Kanakaredes) has gone. No, really, Lindsay has even taken to wearing high-heeled stilettos (one of Stella's traits in the show.) Anyhoo, moving on - this cliff-hanger from last season, wasn't so much a hanging-off-cliff moment, waiting for Lindsay to fire the bullet and put us out of our misery in not having to watch her macho posturing and inflating nostrils, for too long, and kill Casey. This was CSI:ny's (TV) attempt to give this bland character some backbone and make her interesting, failing miserably. It'll never work, Lindsay's not your average Cat (Marg Helgenberger) or Sara (Jorga Fox) from CSI (TV) who can portray bucket loads of...

CSI: NY had a unique set of challenges heading into its seventh season. The show was moving to Friday nights, where the writers would have to figure out how to resolve last season's "shot in the dark" cliff-hanger involving serial killer Shane Casey (guest star Edward Furlong) and married CSIs Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) and Lindsay (Anna Belknap) Messer.

Then series star Melina Kanakaredes, who played Detective Stella Bonasera since the show premiered, quit just weeks before production began. "We had written six scripts over the break," executive producer Pam Veasey tells TVGuide.com. "We developed stories that were ready to prep for shooting, and all of them involved Stella. Then, the fallout happened."
Veasey says after three days of intense phone calls, she found the cloud's silver lining: Emmy and Golden Globe winner Sela Ward signed on to replace Kanakaredes on the show.

Wondering if you can elaborate on Danny and Lindsay's predicament in the season finale of CSI: NY? — Christina
Adam: It doesn't look good. We know Shane Casey tracks down Danny and Lindsay while they're on vacation, and since he's Shane Casey, you can expect some serious peril. But just who is in danger? "[The finale] really leaves you in a position to wonder whose life is at stake...

What's coming up for Danny and Lindsay for the end of this season of CSI: NY? — Christina
Adam: I know what executive producer Pam Veasey told me: "The season finale will involve a big, big event for Danny and Lindsay. I'll just leave it at that." Hmm, well, since Shane Casey is most likely involved, should fans of the couple be worried about them? "Yes," Veasey says. "It's something that will make them go, 'Oh my goodness!' That will be their response."

Shane Casey is coming back to the Big Apple.
CSI: NY producer Pam Veasey has confirmed that Edward Furlong will reprise his role as the aforementioned serial killer, telling Fancast.com he “will be a part of the Season 6 finale, and a cliffhanger you won’t want to miss."
Furlong's Casey may influence the finale in May, but he'll show up before then: the murderer will resurface in a mid-April episode, sources say, the same installment in which Harold Perrineau guest stars as a death row inmate.
A prison riot involving Perrineau's character and Hill Harper's Hawkes will take place that week. Look for Casey to also play a role in it.
“A vendetta is definitely at play,” a show insider said, one that will feed into the season six finale a month later.
