A true "chameleon" in the film industry is an actor that can disappear into their work. However, a true monkey in the film industry is an actor that can disappear into their work and is also a huge cash cow. Or maybe that is just the modern industry legend, Crystal the Capuchin.
There is a lot of animal imagery going on here, but what you need to know is that Crystal is a certified movie star, and a rather lucrative one at that. Though you are likely to recognize Crystal from her decades-long, illustrious film and TV career in hits like Night at the Museum, here is the story behind the underrated celebrity, from her stage roots to her billions-making ongoing stint as a supporting lady on screen.

Alongside Kevin James, the cast of the 2011 comedy, Zookeeper, sees many high-profile celebrities help make it a memorable fantasy movie as they voice several of its anthropomorphic animals. James stars as the titular hero, who is considering a career switch as he feels thats the only way he can improve his chances at finding love. The news comes as a shock to his animal friends, and the zoo creatures try and set him up with someone else to convince him to stay. Zookeeper didnt fare well with most critics but is still worth a watch for family-friendly comedy fans.
What is worth noting about the Zookeeper cast is the stellar voice cast behind the animals and the actual animals themselves. The movie features some iconic animal performers, like Crystal the Monkey who provides the physical likeness for the tufted capuchin Donald, and the late Bart the Bear 2 who plays the grizzly bear Jerome.

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about Episode 10 of Apple TV+’s Bad Monkey.
Season 1 of Bill Lawrence’s Apple TV+ crime series Bad Monkey, based on Carl Hiaasen’s novel, wrapped its run with a jam-packed finale that saw the demise of three main characters. Gracie, aka the Dragon Queen (Jodie Turner-Smith), died at the hands of Eve (Meredith Hagner), who also pushed her wheelchair-bound husband Nick (Rob Delaney) into the ocean. As the show continued to weave magic into reality, the Dragon Queen’s dying wish to Eve, “I hope you choke … on your lies,” basically came true as Eve choked on a baby carrot and then was pulled by an invisible force to the edge as she jumped off a building to her death after escaping to Portugal.

‘Bad Monkey’ just premiered on Apple TV+ and it is already sparking conversation about the show being promising and it potentially being Vince Vaughn’s best performance to date. The novel Set in the Florida Keys, ‘Bad Monkey’ is based on a novel by America's finest satirical novelist, Carl Hiaasen, who made sure to target everything from environmental destruction to political corruption in this 400 page novel. The first episode seems to be following not only the plot line but also patterns from the book. Much like the novel, the series uses dark humor and absurd situations to critique numerous aspects of society. In this dark comedy crime series we follow Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn), a former Miami detective turned restaurant inspector, who finds himself caught in a rather bizarre case that weirdly includes a bad-tempered monkey. Whether Robin Williams was shooting a feature film a "prom-posal" video, he was always committed to getting a laugh. The late actor's Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb co-star Skyler Gisondo will never forget it, either! The 18-year-old enlisted the help of Williams, Ben Stiller and Crystal the Monkey to ask his classmate to be his prom date. Robin didn't just make a five-second cameo, though—he helped Gisondo turn his "prom-posal" into a full theatrical production! "All morning, Robin was pitching more ideas," Gisondo told The Hollywood Reporter. "He was saying 'Can I say this? Would it be appropriate to say this?' You're Robin Williams. You can say...

This might be the greatest prom-proposal ever!
Just months before his passing, Robin Williams teamed up with Ben Stiller to help their Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb co-star Skyler Gisondo ask a girl to his high school prom. In the video, Williams shows off many of his signature voices to help Skyler win over the lucky lady-- and the end result was hilarious.

Jedediah (Owen Wilson), Octavius (Steve Coogan), Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Attila The Hun (Patrick Gallagher), Sacajawea (Mizuo Peck) and the rest of the Museum of Natural History exhibits are back for Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, but the magical tablet that brings them to life at night is losing its powers. Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek) doesn’t know how to restore it, but he thinks his father might. The problem is, his father is on display at London's British Museum so Larry’s (Ben Stiller) got no choice, but to cross the Atlantic to save his friends. Eight years is a long time in the life of a child. While critics are lining up to award Richard Linklater for exploring such an idea, a much larger viewing audience unfamiliar with Boyhood may experience a similar feeling of time passing them by while watching Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. Advertising itself as the finale of the soon-to-be billion dollar grossing Night at the Museum trilogy, Secret of the Tomb lays it on thick with pretences of finality and closure. In truth, the film doesn’t bring the journey to a stop, and instead simply hits the blinker on a lucrative franchise vehicle that’s always been operating in cruise control.

Teddy, Dexter and the crew at the American Museum of Natural History are acting weird, but Larry doesn’t think it’s their fault. Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb — the third installment of a franchise that already has banked nearly $1 billion worldwide — moves the action to London, where a whole new gang of people and critters comes to life. Ben Stiller stars along with franchise veterans Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, Ricky Gervais, Rami Malek, Dick Van Dyke, Skyler Gisondo, Mickey Rooney and, of course, Crystal the Monkey. First-timers include Ben Kingsley, Rebel Wilson, Rachael Harris and Dan Stevens. The Shawn Levy-helmed threequel arrives December 19 via Fox.

Sir Lancelot at your service!
The trailer for the third "Night at the Museum" movie is here, and it features more of the same wacky hijinks that audiences loved about the first two films. Ben Stiller is back as former security guard Larry Daley, who has to save the day night again when the "lives" of his museum figure friends is at stake.
To learn more about how the figures are able to animate, he travels to London, where he meets his sassy security counterpart (Rebel Wilson), Sir Lancelot (Dan Stevens), and a powerful pharaoh (Ben Kingsley).
As with the previous "Night at the Museum" movies, there's quite a bit of toilet humor and cheesy puns. This is also the late Robin Williams's last film.

Ben Stiller might be the key human in the Night At The Museum films, but director Shawn Levy and his team know that the primarily younger audience is in it for the animals and the wackier supporting cast. So Dexter (played by Crystal the capuchin) is front and centre in this second trailer for third outing Secret Of The Tomb along with newer faces such as Dan Stevens and Rebel Wilson.Stiller returns as Larry Daley, one of the few people that know the secret held within New York’s American Museum of Natural History – a stone tablet from the time of the Pharaohs that brings all the exhibits to life and has caused him no end of trouble. Lovely, sweet and kind are just some of the adjectives friends have used to describe the incomparable Robin Williams. And, if they could find the words, it's likely his furry friends would describe the late actor in much the same way. Williams's Instagram feed is filled with adorable shots of him kicking back with many an animal friend, including his road dog Verna Pearl (above), whose unexpected passing last year left him deeply saddened.Happiness overruled though when the dog lover was in the company of the canine kind - like that time Verna Pearl bared her cleavage at the The Crazy Ones premiere.

Today, we’ve got the first images for the threequel, which Fox has released ahead of the film’s first trailer debut later this week.
As the images show, Larry is rejoined in this third installment by living museum exhibits Sacajawea (Mizuo Peck), Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Ahkmenrah (Rami Malek) and Attila the Hun (Patrick Gallagher), among others (expect big roles for Crystal the monkey, Owen Wilson’s Jedediah and Steve Coogan’s Octavius, as per usual). It’s that time again. Over the next few weeks, broadcast insiders will watch dozens of TV pilots in contention for fall. Executives will debate their merits in meetings, publicists will chat about their favorites over lunch and agents will trade hallway gossip about which titles are hot. Some everyday folks will see the pilots, too — roughly 300 civilians wrangled into carefully monitored focus groups.
But like nearly every year since the dawn of TV, this evaluation process will happen in private. Networks will spend millions creating entertainment programs written by top Hollywood writers starring brand-name celebrities that the public will never see.

Cooper was kind enough to join our group of visiting journalists for a roundtable interview in which he talked about the evolving relationships between members of the Wolfpack, filming the final installment in The Hangover trilogy, going back to Vegas, his experience with Oscar buzz and being People Magazine's "Sexiest Man of the Year." The film also stars Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, Mike Epps and Jeffrey Tambor. Diva-holics, relax! What Season 4 of NBC’s The Voice lacks in Christina Aguilera’s extroverted decolletage, flying-saucer hats and impromptu “this is how it’s done” vocal displays, has already been made up for with Shakira’s harmonica riffs, inspirational quips (“faith is the engine!”) and killer Blake Shelton impression.
Yep, we’re only one episode in, and the uni-monikered Colombian superstar is already proving so charmingly adept at her new gig that Xtina and Cee Lo’s absences barely registered. I mean, it’d be nice if one of the coaches went out and got an animal sidekick a...

I like the picture accompanying this live-blog. It speaks to a more innocent time when NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt and Crystal the Monkey were very much in love and hope for "Animal Practice" sprung eternal. Sniffle. Good times. There will be no Crystal at NBC's Sunday (January 6) executive session with Greenblatt, Paul Telegdy and Jennifer Salke, but Crystal's simian presence is sure to be replaced with a new-found sense of optimism at the network. "Community" will hit the NBC airwaves once again on February 7, and Alison Brie (Annie) is more than ready for it.
However, it doesn't look like Annie is in for much romantic action with Abed (Danny Pudi), despite the two having a makeout session last season.
"I think of him as a brother! I don't know if I see them together romantically," Brie told Vulture. "I do sometimes feel sorry for Annie on the love front, because I do want her to have a love interest ... Abed gets a new love interest [in Season 4] who is more Abed-like. I can't say who."
And thanks to Crystal The Monkey's open schedule with "Animal Practice" getting the axe, Annie's boobs will be back.
"Crystal is very popular," Brie said. "I'm a little jealous of her. Sometimes I'll sneak into her dressing room and cut holes in her clothes, but it's like the 'Mean Girls...

Boo! NBC has pulled what was the last scheduled episode of cancelled freshman comedy Animal Practice, slated to air tomorrow night, Halloween. NBC was to keep Animal Practice on until Whitney takes over the Wednesday 8 Pm slot next week. But a Sandy-related string of NBC pre-emptions included repeating the storm-impacted Monday edition of The Voice on Thursday, pre-empting NBC’s 8-10 Pm comedy block. 30 Rock’s episode this week is election-themed, so it didn’t make sense to air it after next Tuesday’s election. Plus, the comedy is on a tight schedule to end its 13-episode final season before Community rejoins the lineup Feb. 7. So we’ve probably seen the last of Crystal the monkey’s hijinks as Animal Practice‘s run ends at 6 episodes.

Six seasons and a movie? Sure, that’d be nice, but right now fans of Community are simply trying to find out when season 4 will finally air. There’s no word on that this morning, but NBC’s underdog comedy is addressing the delay of the premiere, originally scheduled for Oct. 19. It comes to you in the form of a “Troy & Abed in the Morning” segment, and features the whole cast in character. There are plenty of mind-expanding jokes about the date that is more than a spot on a calendar (“Whenever a kitten tries to crawl into a cardboard box on YouTube,...

NBC has put down freshman comedy series Animal Practice, which will continue to air in its 8 pm slot on Wednesday nights until November 7th. Starting November 14th, NBC, in the network's infinite wisdom, has decided to start airing new episodes of Whitney. There is no word yet on when fan-favorite and critical darling Community will return from limbo for its fourth season. From the way NBC has handled their comedic properties, one would assume that Crystal the Monkey was in charge. Clearly that's not the case as Crystal would never cancel her own shows. Hit the jump to get this sorted out. THR reported on the cancellation of Animal Practice, a half-hour comedy series that focused on the men, women and animals of a veterinary practice. The show starred Justin Kirk, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Kym Whitley, Betsy Sodaro, Bobby Lee, Tyler Labine, June Diane Raphael and, of course, Crystal the Monkey.

Fall TV has its second casualty, and it's Crystal the Monkey!Ok, not literally, but "Animal Practice" -- the NBC sitcom that featured the famous monkey from "The Hangover Part II," and debuted during the last night of the Summer Olympics -- will be yanked from the network next month. The comedy starred Justin Kirk as an animal-loving veterinarian who hates the pet owners. Clearly audiences felt that way about the show itself, as it consistently drew low ratings numbers. This final episode will air on Nov. 7, with "Whitney" returning to its old Wed. 8/7 timeslot on Nov. 14."Animal Practice" is the second show to die this 2012-2013 TV season -- CBS drama "Made in Jersey" was pulled from the air last week after just two episodes. Are you surprised? NBC has officially axed Animal Practice. After declining ratings (it was down 9 percent again last night) it's time for Crystal the monkey to hang up her lab coat. And it turns out that the comedy that will take the Wednesday night slot is a familiar one. Whitney will join the lineup starting Nov. 14 (we were sort of hoping it would be Community, too). Meanwhile, NBC's freshman comedy Guys With Kids lives to see another week. During Animal Practice's save or sink it poll, 54 percent of you were into the Justin Kirk comedy. Has "Animal Practice" been canceled? NBC is replacing the comedy starring Justin Kirk and Crystal the Monkey with "Whitney."
"Whitney" will premiere on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. Et on NBC after the network delayed its premiere a few weeks ago.
"Animal Practice" has struggled in the ratings since making its official debut. The series brought in a healthy audience after a preview following the 2012 Olympics -- close to 13 million viewers -- but audiences didn't stick with the show, which is set in an animal hospital. Its most recent episode on Tuesday, October 17 brought in 3.8 million viewers and had a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Its fellow new NBC comedy "Guys With Kids" has been faring better, but not by much. "Guys With Kids" had 4.3 million viewers and a 1.4 rating in the demographic in its most recent telecast.
"Animal Practice" is the first new NBC show to get the boot.

That 1.0 adults 18-49 rating last night didn’t do flailing new NBC comedy Animal Practice any favors. The network just announced that Animal Practice will be replaced by Whitney, whose second season will premiere November 14. Animal Practice will remain on the air until then. It has been a fast fall from grace for Animal Practice, whose pilot was previewed during NBC’s coverage of the Summer Olympics’ Closing Ceremony. But the comedy starring Justin Kirk and Crystal the monkey never found traction when it launched last month. Meanwhile, NBC signaled that it may have other plans in store for returning comedies Whitney and Community last week when it pushed back the shows’ scheduled Friday debut. Whitney and Guys With Kids are the only multi-camera comedies on NBC, and now they will run together. The move brings Whitney to the Wednesday 8 Pm slot where it aired for the second half of last season.

Crystal the monkey is out of a job.
NBC has cancelled struggling freshman sitcom Animal Practice. Filling the Wednesday at 8/7 void beginning Nov. 14 will be Whitney.
Though Practice initially benefitted from a strong Olympics lead-in, the Justin Kirk-starring veterinarian comedy consistently pulled low numbers, this week mustering just 3.8 mil and a 1.0. The show’s Wednesday companion, fellow rookie comedy Guys With Kids, appears safe for the moment.
Whitney was originally scheduled to premiere this Friday along with Community, but NBC announced last week it was keeping both shows in its “back pocket [in case] we need to make any schedule changes” earlier in the week.

If you've ever been worried about being overshadowed by a monkey, "Animal Practice" star Tyler Labine can relate.
After Crystal the Monkey, who plays Dr. Rizzo on the NBC sitcom, saw high scores with "Animal Practice" test audiences, Tyler Labine -- who plays Dr. Doug Jackson, a vet recovering from a breakup, on the show -- worried it would become all about Crystal.
"It was like, 'This isn't going to become 'The Crystal Show,' is it?" Labine said, according to New York magazine.
Labine had a right feel threatened by the show's four-legged star. Not only does Crystal make $12,000 per episode, but she has her own IMDb page. And she's only 18!

Crystal the Monkey, star of NBC's Animal Practice, is super cute (exhibit A through Z: this video). But before you go mail-ordering a Capuchin, Crystal's human co-star Justin Kirk wants you to know something: "As adorable as she is, you should not be getting a fucking monkey as a pet," he told Vulture at a screening of Butter hosted by the Cinema Society last night. "We've been a little embattled by this lately, so let me take this opportunity to say that Tom [Gunderson], her handler, and all the cast of Animal Practice, do not advocate having a monkey as a pet. This is our fear, that if the show is a success" — alas, not the case so far — "people are going to be getting a bunch of monkeys, and not knowing what to do with them." As for whether Crystal has been throwing her feces around set,...

When "Animal Practice" premiered in August, it instantly became one of the most reviled shows in the history of American TV.
And for that, the show itself was not to blame (not much, anyway). But NBC chose to break away from their live (not live) coverage of the Olympic Closing Ceremony Aug. 12 to showcase the veterinarian sitcom starring Justin Kirk, JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Crystal the Monkey instead of the live (not live) performances of no-names like Muse and The Who.
But TV audiences are a forgiving sort, and should be open to judge "Animal Practice" on its own merits when it debuts in its regular time slot tonight (Sept. 26).
But does it have any merits?
Animal lovers (guilty!) probably don't think so. Besides the indignity of a Capuchin monkey performing tricks, Dr. George Coleman's (Kirk) womanizing vet treats his practice like a nightclub. His first patient in the pilot,...

Host Seth MacFarlane entertained with a number of amazing impressions during "Saturday Night Live's" impressive premiere, but he made the biggest splash as laidback Olympic gold medalist swimmer Ryan Lochte.
Introduced by Seth Meyers on "Weekend Update" to review the new fall shows, MacFarlane said of his exciting summer: "I was America in Olympics." Wearing a track suit and gold medals, MacFarlane's Lochte said he was most excited about "Monkey Hospital" (confusing the title of NBC's "Animal Practice," which features Crystal the Monkey).
" It's so funny. It's not fair they give all the best lines to the monkey. I give it three swims." (Out of three.)
"I'm really excited about that show "'Goon,'" he continued. When Meyers pointed out that it's actually called "Go On," MacFarlane said, "Either way it looks really go-od" (pronouncing it "go odd").

It’s September, and you know what that means: It’s time to meet new shows in addition to reuniting with your returning favorites.
Each year, networks decide what shows to keep, move around and cancel, leaving open spots for a gaggle of new series.
